Abstract

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the physical presence of classrooms shifted to virtual spaces, where it changed almost all methods of delivering learning materials. Elements of space and its supports that can usually be felt in the classroom, such as furniture configuration, wall colors, information boards, teacher's desks and chairs, and others, make the class irrelevant. However, as the situation improves, there is a gradual transition from online to offline learning methods. Previous research stated that students were not satisfied with the online learning system due to a lack of engagement. This study tries to identify and review students' perceptions when they return to the classroom, starting from their conditions, tendencies, and expectations of their classrooms so that learning process can take place well. The object of this research is an elementary school, namely SDN 03 Kepongpongan, located in Cirebon Regency. The method used is participatory design approach, where the main data is obtained through the distribution of questionnaires adapted to the characteristics of the children, interviews, discussion, and the results of documentation during the activity. From the results it was found that there was a low perception between students and their classrooms. The results of this study are students' perceptions of classrooms elements that can be used for the process of re-designing classrooms after the pandemic period.

Abstract

As a widely established scale a standardized assessment of language competency in Europe as well as worldwide, CEFR provides a clear baseline for assessing language ability. However, its representation in videos on TikTok, as one of the most potential language learning platforms remained unexplored. This study seeks to examine communicative language strategies linked with the CEFR in TikTok videos. Using a qualitative method and ATLAS.ti software, the data were collected from 200 videos using the hashtags #learnenglish and #communicationstrategies. Production was recognized as the most common communication strategy, with planning appearing in 43 videos. Moreover, videos in the B1 level were the most frequent, appearing in 86 videos. The results suggest that a systematic strategy, as seen in TikTok videos, requires a well-designed learning plan that includes regular intervals for listening, speaking, reading, and writing practice. Future studies should encourage educators to adopt these practices, to promote successful language education.

Abstract

Microfiltration membranes are a technological alternative to the biological method; apart from being easier to operate, they can also be made portable, especially in emergencies such as natural disasters. The problem with the operation of this microfiltration membrane is that saturation occurs quickly on the surface of the microfiltration membrane. It can reduce the efficiency of treatment and the quality of wastewater. This study aimed to determine the initial rate of hospital wastewater and the efficiency of reducing the parameters of hospital wastewater using microfiltration membrane filtration. The research method used is quasi-experimental, which aims to explain things that will happen to the research variables by manipulating and controlling the variables so that the influence of one or more variables is found. The conclusion obtained from this study was the initial hospital wastewater quality in the first hour, namely pH 6.5, BOD 82mg/l, COD 271mg/l, TSS 38mg/l, Fatty Oil 1mg/l, NH3 16mg/l, and Total Coliform 3,400 Total/100ml sample. The quality of the treated wastewater produced by microfiltration membranes was pH 7, BOD 10mg/l, COD 64mg/l, TSS 12mg/l, Fatty Oil 0.5mg/l, NH3 1mg/l, and Total Coliform 800 Total/100ml sample. The efficiency of reducing the concentration of wastewater in all parameters meets the smell of hospital wastewater quality. Suggestions from this study are the installation of a field-scale microfiltration membrane device.

Abstract

Problems arise when there are tax fees on groundwater use by hospitals. This will, of course, burden the hospital's operational costs. The solution to reducing groundwater use is the use of microfiltration membranes. Microfiltration membranes can be used to recycle wastewater into clean water so that it can be collected and used for cleaning, washing, and watering gardens. They can reduce groundwater taxes and hospital groundwater use. The research objectives are to know the efficiency of reducing wastewater recycling equipment from the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) outlet using a microfiltration membrane. The research methodology used was a quasi-experiment in laboratories and workshops, with a pre-test (before treatment) and post-test (after treatment) design. Stage one Microfiltration Membrane is a medium for processing wastewater into clean water in the first stage. Stage two, Microfiltration Membrane, is a medium for processing wastewater into clean water. In the second stage, it ensures that clean water quality is met. The results that the efficiency of reducing the wastewater recycling equipment from the WWTP outlet using  Microfiltration Membrane for pH 7%, Temperature 6%, Turbidity 64%, Colour 85%, Dissolved Solids (TDS) 40%, Nitrate 70%, Nitrite 94%, dissolved Iron (Fe) 33%, Manganese  60%, Cadmium 50%, Lead  43%, Fluoride 46%, Cyanide 96%, Hardness (CaCO3) 11%. In conclusion, all the parameters studied experienced a decrease in concentration. This research suggests conducting further research to reduce the current research discharge so that the parameter reduction can be more significant.
