Abstract

Instruments which can be used to identify factors affecting the medication adherence of elderly with diabetes mellitus (DM) have not been discovered in Indonesia. The objective of this study was to develop a questionnaire to identify factors affecting elderly patients’ medication adherence. The development of the questionnaire was conducted based on published references attained through the exploration of research evidence with several keywords and databases. Content validity was conducted using experts’ assessment (two experts). Face validity was conducted in 13 subjects including seven (7) non-elderly subjects and six (6) elderly subjects. Construct validity test was conducted based on calculated R against table R while reliability test was conducted with Cronbach’s Alpha. There were 30 elderly subjects included in the construct validity. Present study produced a valid and reliable questionnaire comprising 35 questions in 14 subcategories from 4 factor domains with the calculated R = 0.357-0.788 and Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.934. The questionnaire can be used for further research throughout Indonesia. Hence, a complete overview of factors affecting elderly DM patients’ medicine consumption adherence can be obtained. The identification of factors related to the usage of DM patients’ medicine is expected to serve as a base for the government, both of state and local government, to produce policies related to health interventions to be implemented.

Abstract

INTRODUCTION: The main treatment modality for squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck is by surgical wide excision. Post-excision reconstructive surgery is essential for restoring aesthetics and function. Fasciocutaneous free-flap is an acceptable method for reconstructing a wide lession of the face since the technique does not cause significant morbidity.CASE REPORT: A 41 year-old female was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (T3N0M0) of the inferior lip after achieving tumor-free margin radical excision. Reconstruction of the defect was made with radial forearm freelap followed by a three-phase refinement flap. The patient was left with a aesthetically acceptable lip without other facial morbidity.DISCUSSION: Reconstructive surgery following a widely excised tumor of the lips requires special attention because of its important physical and aesthetical role. Radial forearm freeflap causes minimal facial morbidity since the technique does not require donor tissue from the face. Other benefits include adequate tissue thickness, minimal contracture and unaltering skin color. Further refinement flaps is needed to complete the reconstruction process.CONCLUSION: Radial forearm free flap is a good choice for reconstruction a wide lession following a wide excision of lip tumor.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic had a dangerous impact on early-childhood education, lost learning in almost all aspects of child development. The house-to-house learning, with the name Moving Home Learning Program (MHLP), is an attractive offer as an emergency remote teaching solution. This study aims to describe the application of MHLP designed by early-childhood education institutions during the learning process at home. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection using interviews, observation, and documentation. The respondents involved in the interview were a kindergarten principal and four teachers. The research data were analyzed using the data content analysis. The Findings show that the MHLP has proven to be sufficiently in line with the learning needs of early childhood during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although, the application of the MHLP learning model has limitations such as the distance from the house that is far away, the number of meetings that are only once a week, the number of food and toy sellers passing by, disturbing children's concentration, and the risk of damage to goods at home. The implication of this research can be the basis for evaluating MHLP as an adaptive strategy that requires the attention of related parties, including policy makers, school principals, and teachers for the development of new, more effective online learning models. Abstract

In today's digital era, information security is a very important thing to pay attention to. There are many methods to maintain information security, but there are still many vulnerabilities that can be exploited by irresponsible parties. Blockchain technology provides a solution by providing a strong and reliable information security system. Blockchain technology can be used to ensure the integrity and validity of stored data. This can be done by storing data in blocks that are connected to one another and using encryption to maintain privacy. In addition, the decentralized system that exists in blockchain technology makes it difficult for irresponsible parties to change or delete it. The application of blockchain technology to information security systems can be carried out in various sectors, such as banking, commerce, and government. In the banking sector, blockchain technology can be used to maintain the integrity of transaction data and ensure that transactions are truly valid. In the trade sector, blockchain technology can be used to ensure that the goods being traded are genuine and have a verifiable source. In the government sector, blockchain technology can be used to store and verify election data, and ensure that election results are truly valid and representative.

Abstract

Wonogiri Regency, the Republic of Indonesia, is an area that has potential to be affected by various types of disasters. This study aims to identify the types of disaster potentials in the Wonogiri Regency and to provide recommendations for effective disaster mitigation strategies that can be effectively implemented by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah or BPBD in short) of the Wonogiri Regency during 2021-2026 time period by using the House of Risk (HoR) method. The study found that floods, landslides, strong winds, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, forest and land fires, droughts, and extraordinary events are likely to take place in the regency. The implementation of the HoR phase 1 yields 19 disaster risk events and 19 disaster risk agents. The use of Pareto diagram to the disaster risk agents results in 8 dominant risk agents of disaster, namely “Unstable ground”; “The trees are too old and fragile”; “The trees are too dense”; Lack of water resources”; Heavy rain intensity”; “Struck by disaster materials”; “Epidemic of a disease”; and “The building construction is not strong”. The implementation of the HoR phase 2 produces 15 mitigation strategies along with their priority order in which the 5 mitigation strategies with the highest priority are “Working with related parties to reduce the potential of disasters”; “Conducting socialization and education of disasters”; “Establishing disaster-resilient villages”; “Mapping disaster-prone areas”; and “Training for disaster volunteers”.

Abstract

Headache is a symptom which people often self-medicate and community pharmacies are often places where self-medicating patients with headache obtain the medicines. Therefore, community pharmacists played an important role in providing appropriate advice for these patients. A cross-sectional study design was used. A questionnaire consisting of (1) pharmacy and pharmacists characteristics, and (2) two vignette cases of headache (tension headache and migraine due to an oral contraceptive) was developed. Data was collected using a structured interview with community pharmacists in an East Javan district. Data was analysed using content analysis. Appropriate recommendation was determined based on the literature and expert panel opinion. The total population was 81 community pharmacists. Of these, 47 agreed to participate. Of 47 participating pharmacists, 36 (77%) and 23 (49%) pharmacists provided appropriate advice in the case of tension headache and migraine due to the use of an oral contraceptive respectively. Appropriate recommendation provided by pharmacists varied according to the cases. Optimization of pharmacists’ recommendation in a case of headache requiring medical referral is needed.
