Abstract

Strengthening the paradigm of eco-theological-based educational leadership is important in this era of disruption marked by technological developments and increasing environmental crises. This study aims to examine the integration of theological and ecological values in educational leadership. The study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method through the analysis of various relevant books, journal articles, and academic documents. The results of the study show that the eco-theological paradigm of educational leadership integrates a theocentric perspective that places God as the source of moral and spiritual values and an ecocentric perspective that emphasizes a harmonious relationship between humans and nature. The integration of these two perspectives encourages ethical awareness in preserving the environment through the development of an environmentally-friendly curriculum and the formation of a green school culture. This approach is expected to encourage adaptive educational leadership practices that are oriented towards environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This study addresses the role and influence of school principals' leadership in improving the quality of education in schools. Although many studies highlight the importance of school principals' leadership, challenges remain in optimizing this role, especially in responding to the dynamic and evolving educational  landscape.  Therefore,  this  research  aims  to  systematically  review  previous  studies  on  school  principals'  leadership  andits  impact  on educational quality. The method used is a systematic literature review following the PRISMA approach, involving the search and selection of literature based on inclusion criteria and employing the PICO method to ensure the relevance and quality of data sources. Data were collected from national scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2025 through the Google Scholar platform. The analysis synthesizes research findings related to leadership functions, leadership styles, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in improving educational quality. The results indicate that school principals play a central role as managers, supervisors, motivators, and innovators capable of creating a conducive learning  environment  and  enhancing  teacher  professionalism.  Adaptive  and  visionary  leadership  has  proven  effective  in  addressing  educational challenges, including those posed by the pandemic. However, the effectiveness of leadership is influenced by the school context, available resources, and stakeholder support.

Abstract

The world of education is currently undergoing a massive digital transformation that is not only changing learning methods but also shifting the values and ethics within the school environment. The character crisis, such as cyberbullying and the degradation of morality, demands the emergence of leaders capable of serving as moral compasses amidst technological disruption. This study aims to explore the actualization of the Uswatun Hasanah concept by school principals as a character-strengthening strategy in the digital era. The research method used was qualitative with a library research approach. Data were collected through relevant literature, including the Quran (specifically Surah Al-Ahzab: 21), books, and research journals on digital education transformation. The results indicate that Uswatun Hasanah-based leadership positions the principal's personal integrity as a "living curriculum." Recontextualizing this concept within modern management includes the application of authentic leadership, transparency, and professionalism (Ihsan). In the digital era, principals serve as role models through ethical communication in cyberspace, wisdom in managing digital footprints, and strengthening digital empathy. The implementation of these values aims to create a school ecosystem that is Rahmatan Lil 'Alamin (Rahmatan Lil 'Alamin)—an inclusive, safe environment that serves as a source of goodness for all school members amidst the tide of disruption. This study concludes that the key to successful character education in the digital age lies not in technological sophistication, but rather in the depth of integrity and exemplary behavior of the leader.

The research method employed was a literature review, examining various relevant literature, research findings, and theories concerning visionary leadership, a culture of quality, and the context of Islamic education. The findings indicate that the visionary leadership of madrasah heads plays a strategic role in strengthening educational quality through systematic planning, the development of a vision and mission grounded in Islamic values, the strengthening of organisational culture, and the effective management of resources. Furthermore, visionary leadership also fosters the professional development of teachers, student achievement, and the integration of spiritual and moral values into every aspect of educational governance. The implications of this research underscore the importance of strengthening the strategic leadership competencies of madrasah heads through continuous training, the development of collaborative networks, and the implementation of internal quality management systems. Thus, the formulation of visionary leadership can serve as a transformative paradigm in building a culture of excellence in Islamic madrasah education that is of high quality, integrity, and adaptable to global challenges.

Abstract

This article examines principal leadership in the recovery and transformation of learning in formal educational institutions post-pandemic. The study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach through a literature review of relevant journal articles, academic books, policy documents, and official reports. The results indicate that principals play a central role not only as administrative managers but also as instructional leaders, transformational leaders, and change agents who direct the school's vision, culture, and quality of learning. In learning recovery, principals coordinate diagnostic assessments, differentiated learning, literacy and numeracy reinforcement, and support for student learning well-being. At the same time, principals lead learning transformation through the integration of digital technology, active-collaborative learning, data-driven evaluation, pedagogical innovation, and strengthening a culture of continuous reflection. The success of this agenda is determined by the principal's managerial and pedagogical competencies, teacher support, the availability of infrastructure, and a willingness to collaborate with parents and the community.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of educational leadership mindset from an authoritarian model to a democratic one through a conceptual review of educational thought in the context of digital era transformation. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, analyzing relevant scientific literature published between 2018 and 2021. The findings indicate that educational leadership has undergone a significant paradigm shift, from an authoritarian model characterized by hierarchical, rigid, and centralized power structures to a democratic leadership model that emphasizes participation, collaboration, and empowerment. This transformation is influenced by digital technological advancements, the evolution of leadership from Leadership 1.0 to Leadership 5.0, and the demands of 21st-century education. Furthermore, the digitalization of education presents challenges such as technological inequality, limited digital competencies, and issues related to ethics and data security, while also providing opportunities for more flexible, innovative, and inclusive learning. In this context, adaptive leadership becomes a key strategy in managing change through its roles as a change agent, innovation driver, and collaboration facilitator. Therefore, transforming the mindset of educational leadership from authoritarian to democratic is a strategic step toward developing a responsive, human-centered, and sustainable education system.
