Abstract

Abstract. Gastropods can respond to pesticide pollution in the environment because their life is relatively sedentary and their movements are very limited. The character of pesticides are not selective and persistent can result in bioaccumulation of pesticide content in gastropod. Hence, the  aim of the study was to determine the levels of pesticide residues that accumulate in the gastropod body at Kalisat River, Malang Regency. The pesticide residues in gastropods was measured using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Data were analyzed descriptively comparative or compared with the quality standards which exceeded the maximum residual limit set by the EU Pesticide Database. The results showed that pyrethroid pesticides were found with the active ingredient beta-cyfluthrin (mean 0.05 mg/g) and carbamate group with three highest active ingredients namely propoxur (average value of 0.15 mg/g), carbofuran (average value of  0.16 mg/g) and carbaryl (average value of 0.11 mg/g). Bioaccumulation factor values at all stations are greater than 1 (BAF1) that indicates the gastropods can accumulate pesticide residues. Keywords: bioaccumulation, gastropod, pesticide residues, Kalisat River Abstrak. Gastropoda dapat memberikan respon terhadap pencemaran pestisida di lingkungan karena hidupnya relatif menetap dan pergerakannya sangat terbatas. Abstract

Many land changes have occurred in Indonesia, especially in developing areas, so those rural areas can turn into urban areas. These changes can be felt directly by the community and have an impact on the social economy of the surrounding population. The importance of knowing the social and economic conditions of the community to know the conditions of regional development. Therefore, this study aims to determine changes in land cover in 2014-2020 and their effect on the social economy of the population in Parakansalak District. This research uses a descriptive quantitative method with spatial and statistical analysis in it. The techniques used in data collection were questionnaires, interviews, and observations, while the data processing techniques used the Google Earth Engine platform, ArcGIS software, Excel, and SPSS. The results of the study showed that changes in land cover partially affected the socio-economic status of 51%, with the most affected being jobs and incomes of residents in the Parakansalak District. Employment is affected by 68% and income is affected by 71% of land cover changes. The land cover that changed the most was agricultural land in Bojonglongok Village and Parakansalak Village. Therefore, the occupations of the surrounding residents also changed, such as some residents becoming traders, landlords, ranchers, teachers, and so on, and eventually, it also affected their income.

Abstract

One of the ways to observe the hotspot created by forest fires in Indonesia is through Remote sensing imagery, such as MODIS, NOAA AVHRR, etc. Central Kalimantan is one of the areas in Indonesia with the highest hotspot data. In this research, MODIS FIRMS hotspot data in Central Kalimantan collected from 2017 – 2019, covering 13 districts: South Barito, East Barito, North Barito, Mount Mas, Kapuas, Katingan, Palangkaraya City, West Kotawaringin, East Kotawaringin, Lamandau, Murung Raya, Pulang Pisau, Seruyan, and Sukamara. That is four aspects that this research evaluated: 1) evaluating the spatial pattern using the Nearest Neighbor Analysis (NNA); 2) evaluate the hotspot density appearance using Kernel Density; and 3) correlation analysis between rainfall data and MODIS FIRMS. As a result, the hotspot in Central Kalimantan shows a clustered pattern. While the natural breaks KDE algorithm shows the most relevant result to represent the hotspot distribution. Finally, the hotspot is low correlated with rainfall; however, is see that most of the hotspot (~90%) appeared in low rainfall month (less than 3000 mm/month).

Abstract

Indonesia's geographical location resulted in the fisheries in the Sunda Strait also affected by global climate dynamics. One of them is the ENSO (El Nino-Southern Oscillation) phenomenon in the Pacific Ocean that affects the seasons and marine waters in Indonesia. The fishery in the Sunda Strait has a commodity of pelagic fish where potential area can be estimated from oceanographic parameters such as sea surface temperature (SST) and chlorophyll-a concentration in marine waters. The dynamics of the spatial and temporal parameter of oceanography due to the variation of ENSO phenomena can be identified from Aqua satellite images carrying the MODIS sensor. Information on potential areas of pelagic fish is needed to help the effectiveness of fishery activities and increase the production of capture fisheries. Monthly oceanographic parameters in the Sunda Strait are overlayed based on 4 seasonal variations in a year on each variation of the ENSO phenomenon and are classified by moderate, potential, and very potential classes. As a result, the potential areas of very potential pelagic fish in the Sunda Strait in the La Nina and El Nino phenomena are greater than in normal conditions and occur in the east seasons until the second transition. The spread is in the Indian Ocean to the west of the Sunda Strait.

Abstract

Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) is the final product of a short-term forecasting algorithm (nowcasting) based on weather radar data which is widely used in hydrometeorological aspects. The calculation of the accuracy value using point data on a rainfall gauge often causes a double penalty problem because the QPF prediction results are in the form of spatial objects. This study aims to apply object-based spatial verification in analyzing the accuracy of QPF based on the Short Term Ensemble Prediction System (STEPS) algorithm using the SAL technique. The verification process is carried out by calculating the index value of the structure component (S), amplitude (A), and location (L) in the QPF prediction results based on the results of weather radar observations. The index values for components S and A have a range of -2 to 2, and 0 to 1 for component L with a perfect value of 0. The case study used is the occurrence of heavy rains that caused flooding in Bogor Regency in 2020. SAL verification results from 26 case studies used shows the average value of the components S, A, and L, respectively 0.51, 0.38, and 0.21. As many as 75% of all case studies have S and L component values less than 0.5 which indicate the structure and location of the QPF prediction object is close to the structure and location of the object of observation. A positive value in component A indicates that the QPF prediction results based on the STEPS algorithm tend to be overestimated but on a low scale, namely 0.38 out of 2.

Abstract

Generations of the Nation is the hope of the state, services for Basic Education are the needs of the Indonesian people. This study aims to: 1) determine the effectiveness of digital learning media in improving student learning outcomes; 2) knowing students' knowledge before and after being given learning with digital learning media; 3) take advantage of advances in digital technology. On the other hand, this technological progress is very rapid and can be said to be a form of re-adaptation for teachers. The existence of Digital Learning media is a process to complement the needs of prospective generations to make it easier to learn, we cannot deny that when we are still using old learning media, children can get bored in learning. In short, we must take advantage of technological advances so that the demands of the nation's expectations can be fulfilled. Gols a teacher turns barren land into fertile land, the child is a layman who needs guidance and the teacher is a uswah who guides. Abstract

Eels (Anguilla spp.) are highly nutritious fish that are widely consumed. Ciletuh Bay, situated opposite the Indian Ocean, is a natural habitat for eel larvae. The migration of eel larvae is influenced by various oceanographic factors, including salinity, sea surface temperature, and chlorophyll-a. In order to support fisheries activities in Sukabumi Regency, it is important to identify the optimal habitat for eel larvae and obtain information about their abundance. This study used remote sensing techniques and two algorithms, the Cilamaya Algorithm to estimate salinity and the Wibowo Algorithm to estimate chlorophyll-a. The study was conducted during the wet, dry, and transitional months of 2019 and 2020 in Ciletuh Bay. The potential areas for eel larvae were found to be concentrated at the mouth of the river during the wet month, at the estuary and the shore during the dry month and the first transitional month, and tended to spread during the second transitional month. The largest potential area was found during the dry month of 2019, covering an area of 3.44 km2, but the potential was more stable during the wet months.
