Abstract

Hypertensive disorders in pregnancy, such as preeclampsia, are a leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. This case report details the management of a patient with severe preeclampsia, highlighting the challenge of a progressive hemoglobin drop without thrombocytopenia. The report aims to describe the clinical presentation, diagnostic approach, and management of a term pregnancy complicated by severe preeclampsia and a suspected concurrent urinary tract infection. A case study was conducted on a 23-year-old woman, G2P1A0, at 39 weeks’ gestation, who presented in the active phase of labor with hypertension and bleeding. Data were collected through clinical examination, laboratory tests, and monitoring of the implemented treatment regimen. The patient was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia based on hypertension (160/100 mmHg) and proteinuria (2+). Laboratory findings revealed a significant drop in hemoglobin (from 11.4 g/dL to 8.2 g/dL) with normal platelet counts, ruling out HELLP syndrome, alongside leukocytosis and nitrite positivity suggesting a urinary tract infection. Management with a combination of magnesium sulfate, nifedipine, oxytocin, and antibiotics successfully stabilized maternal hemodynamics. This case underscores the importance of vigilant monitoring for atypical presentations such as progressive anemia in preeclampsia and affirms the effectiveness of a combined MgSO₄–nifedipine regimen, alongside infection control and timely delivery, in managing severe preeclampsia at term.

Abstract

Retrofitting projects in industrial facilities are often prone to delays and cost overruns due to various technical, logistical, and operational risks. These challenges include limited working access, delayed material delivery, and regulatory constraints, all of which can significantly affect project efficiency and cost performance. This study aims to optimize project costs by integrating value engineering and risk analysis methods in retrofitting construction. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining case studies with statistical analysis using Structural Equation Modeling – Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Data were collected through surveys, expert interviews, field observations, and project documentation. The findings indicate that the integration of value engineering and risk analysis effectively reduces project costs without compromising quality. The application of value engineering resulted in an alternative solution using fire-rated drywall, which led to a cost saving of approximately IDR 5.36 billion or 9.63 percent of the original estimated cost. Additionally, the Life Cycle Cost (LCC) analysis showed that this alternative provided a more economical long-term solution, with a life cycle cost difference of 13.73 percent compared to the baseline material. These results highlight the practical benefits of integrating VE and risk management, offering a structured and data-driven framework for achieving cost-effective and sustainable outcomes in complex industrial retrofitting projects.

Abstract

This study focuses on detecting financial distress in property and real estate companies listed on the IDX for the period 2020 - 2024 with the role of agency cost, company size, financial performance, and capital structure. Using a quantitative approach and data from 51 companies selected through purposive sampling techniques, this study aims to evaluate how these various factors interact with each other and affect the financial state of the company. Agency cost is measured to understand how costs arising from conflicts of interest between management and shareholders can negatively impact financial stability. The study found that company size has a positive influence on financial distress, suggesting that larger companies tend to face higher financial risks. On the other hand, profitability, liquidity, and leverage have not been shown to have a significant effect on financial distress. Another important finding is that capital structures dominated by debt contribute to an increased risk of financial distress. The research provides valuable insights for investors and stakeholders in the property sector, as well as highlights the importance of efficient financial management to prevent more serious financial problems.

Abstract

Infrastructure development in the mining sector plays a crucial role in supporting Indonesia's economic growth, with the sector contributing approximately 7–8% of total GDP. However, infrastructure projects face significant challenges related to inefficiency, with more than 40% experiencing delays due to waste and poor resource management. Lean Construction, adapted from Lean Manufacturing principles and introduced by Lauri Koskela in 1993, offers a systematic approach to eliminating waste and enhancing project value. This research aims to analyze the barrier factors affecting Lean Construction implementation in hauling road construction projects and to formulate strategies to overcome these barriers. Using a quantitative approach, this study employed multiple linear regression analysis to examine the relationship between barrier factors (managerial, workforce, organizational, and external factors) and Lean Construction implementation. Data were collected through expert validation and questionnaires from 50 respondents involved in hauling road construction. The results show that these four factors simultaneously influence Lean Construction implementation by 57.7%, with the workforce factor being the most dominant ( ). SWOT analysis identified strategic recommendations, including enhanced Lean Construction training programs with certification, optimization of Lean Tools technology, improved communication systems, and structured organizational commitment. This research contributes to the body of knowledge on Lean Construction implementation in the Indonesian mining infrastructure context and provides practical guidelines for contractors to overcome implementation barriers.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of resource factors on project completion time performance in an oncology hospital construction project, which has high complexity due to specialized facilities such as radiotherapy rooms with radiation shielding requirements. The variables examined include equipment, work methods, materials, human resources, and financial factors. Data analysis employed a quantitative approach using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine structural relationships between latent variables. The inner model analysis yielded an R² value of 0.895, indicating that 89.5% of the variation in project time performance can be explained by the five factors. Direct hypothesis testing revealed that equipment is the most dominant variable (path coefficient 0.415; p-value 0.000), followed by work methods (0.258; p-value 0.012), materials (0.231; p-value 0.006), and human resources (0.142; p-value 0.014). Financial factors showed no significant effect (0.037; p-value 0.731). The study concludes that technical and operational factors—particularly equipment, work methods, materials, and human resources—have a greater influence on project delays than financial aspects. Recommended strategies include optimizing equipment management, strengthening efficient work methods, controlling material supply chains, and improving workforce competence and coordination to enhance time efficiency and project completion success.
