Abstract

Purpose This research analyzes the characteristics and determinants of repeat users of Implan contraception in Surakarta. Method This is a quantitative-research using a cross-sectional survey approach with 117 purposively selected samples. Data was collected using a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability using the Cronbach's Alpha formula, with a reference value of ≥ 0.07. The data was analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses using the chi-square test and multivariate analysis with logistic regression. The analysis was developed through a three-stage backward conditional modeling process. The first stage involved screening variables that met the criteria for inclusion in multivariate analysis. The second stage analyzed variables that were significantly related to the dependent variable. In the third stage, the variables contributing the most to the dependent variable were determined. Results: In the first stage of modeling analysis, it was found that the education level variable could not be included in the multivariable analysis. In the second stage, six variables were analyzed, and only three variables showed a strong and significant relationship, which were employment status with an Odds Ratio (OR) of 3.05, parity with an OR of 4.62, and the age of the last child with an OR of 2. In the third stage, by examining the magnitude of the Odds Ratio, it was determined that the parity variable with an OR of 4.62 was the strongest variable related to the dependent variable. Conclusion; The characteristics of repeated Implan method users are working mothers, having children aged at least three years, having at least two children, being married for more than 10 years, and having both male and female children.

Abstract

The budget can be used as a guideline in carrying out its duties. Public sector organizations are required to consider value for money in making policies and carrying out their activities. The purpose of this study is to determine the level of effectiveness and efficiency of the implementation of the Balikpapan City regional budget for 2019-2022. The method used in this study is quantitative descriptive analysis with data analysis using effectiveness and efficiency measurement methods. The results of this study show that the level of effectiveness and efficiency of budget implementation in Balikpapan City in 2019-2022 has fluctuated. The implementation of the Balikpapan City regional budget in 2019-2022 as a whole meets the criteria of being quite effective. The lowest percentage of efficiency in 2019 was 95.01%, which falls under the category of less efficient. The highest efficiency rate was in 2020, with a percentage of 86.96%, with the criteria of being quite efficient. This study implies that fluctuations in the level of effectiveness and efficiency of Balikpapan City's APBD implementation may indicate factors that change from year to year. It is necessary to conduct in-depth analysis to identify the causes of such fluctuations in order to take appropriate corrective measures. Although there are fluctuations, the overall implementation of the Balikpapan City APBD is considered quite effective. This could be an indication that there are certain aspects that are managed well, but it is still necessary to focus on elements that may cause fluctuations.

Abstract

The concern in Indonesia is that explicit regulations addressing this issue still need to be improved. This study aims to analyze the legal dilemmas surrounding diploma retention, identify weaknesses in current regulations, and propose solutions to protect employee rights. Using a normative juridical approach, this research employs statutory and conceptual methodologies. Data were collected through document analysis of legal statutes, employment agreements, and relevant legal literature. The findings indicate that ambiguity in regulatory frameworks concerning legal sanctions leads to repeated violations and construction failures.  The findings reveal that diploma retention as collateral needs a solid legal foundation, creating an imbalance of power that disadvantages employees. The study highlights the novelty of examining diplomas as collateral within the broader principles of collateral law, offering new perspectives on their inapplicability as valid collateral objects. By proposing clear regulatory frameworks and alternative approaches, such as proportional penalties, the study contributes to safeguarding workers’ rights while addressing employers' concerns. These findings aim to promote fairness and legal certainty in employment practices.

Abstract

This research discusses the dynamics and challenges in legal regulation related to human smuggling, focusing on refugees in Indonesia. Despite Indonesia being a significant transit country for refugees, the existing legal framework, particularly Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, does not specifically regulate the status and protection of refugees. Consequently, refugees are often viewed as illegal immigrants, leading to human rights violations and legal uncertainty. The first subsection analyzes how dynamic legal regulations interact with the challenges faced in the context of human smuggling. It further explores necessary efforts to create legal certainty, including the need for more specific regulations and transparent procedures. This research is expected to contribute to the development of better policies and practices in dealing with human smuggling cases and protecting the rights of refugees in Indonesia.

Abstract

The aging process in the elderly population can lead to changes in body posture, often resulting in kyphosis, which exacerbates postural balance disorders. This study aims to determine the relationship between kyphosis posture incidence and postural balance disorders among the elderly in Jebres, Surakarta. The research design employed was an observational analytic correlation with a cross-sectional design, utilizing purposive sampling techniques. The independent variable was kyphosis, while the dependent variable was balance disorders. The instruments used included the Unteberger test for assessing balance and the Occiput-to-Wall distance test for measuring kyphosis. Results from the study revealed that out of 67 respondents from a total population of 75 elderly individuals, 30 (44.77%) experienced kyphosis, with 23 (34.32%) presenting hyper kyphosis. Additionally, 53 (79.10%) respondents exhibited balance disorders, while 14 (20.89%) did not have kyphosis or balance disorders. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman rho test demonstrated a significant correlation between Balance Disorders and Kyphosis Posture, with a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001 and a correlation coefficient of 0.759. The relationship between these two variables was found to be unidirectional, indicating a significant association between the incidence of kyphosis posture and postural balance disorders in the elderly in Jebres, Surakarta. For future research, it is recommended to further explore the specific magnitude of kyphosis angles and their impact on postural balance disturbances
