Abstract

The aims of the research are to analyze how metadiscourse types is used to accompany the moves in English abstract section of undergraduate students' final project, to explain how rhetorical moves are used in English abstract section of undergraduate students' final project, and to enlighten how metadiscourse functions are applied in relation to the rhetorical moves in the abstract section of undergraduate students' final project at Universitas PGRI Ronggolawe, Tuban. The research was descriptive qualitative research in order to answer the research problem definitely. The research identifies the meaning reflected and particular characteristic in the use of rhetorical moves and metadiscourse. The result shows that the use of interactive metadiscourse tends to be dominant in students' final project abstracts. Almost all of students write the methods of rhetorical moves in their abstract. The move gives a good indication of the information on data, procedures and methods used. The further researchers on teaching writing the final project abstract are suggested to conduct both metadiscourse and rhetorical moves aspect so the students will become more capable of determining the particular kinds of metadiscourse which should be applied in each move of writing abstract.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study is to describe the students? activity and skill achivement to comprehend the lesson material (student activement) in applying the inquiry learning model in IPS subject, concept comprehending the human in their relationship with the geographical condition around them, on the fourth grade of SDN Ketintang I/409 Surabaya. The design of this research is classroom action reasearch with three cycles of activities. The objects are 35 fourth grade students of SDN Ketintang I/409 Surabaya. The data is obtained from the observation and test result. The observations is conducted to observe the student?s activities during the learning process, while the test is performed to measure the students? ability in comprehending the material (students? studing achievement). Based on the data analysis result, it can be concluded that after applying the inquiry learning model, the student? activities and studying achivement were improved. if in the cycles I the activity percentage is only 61,28% and the studying achivement is 63%, then in cycle II the activity percentage became 73,2%and the studing achievement became 74,3%, and in cycle III the activity percentage reached up to 82,9% and the studying achievement reached up to 85,71%. These activity and studying achievements were caused by the learning process wich involved the student to find out the material concept by themselves.Keywords: Comprehending Skill, Inquiry Learning Model, Students? Activity.ABSTRAK                                                                                         Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui peningkatan keaktifan siswa, dan kemampuan siswa memahami materi pelajaran (hasil belajar) dalam penerapan model pembelajaran inkuiri pada mata pelajaran IPS konsep hubungan  manusia dengan kondisi geografis di sekitarnya kelas IV SDN Ketintang I/409 Surabaya. Desain penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan 3 siklus kegiatan. Objek penelitian yaitu 35 siswa kelas IV SDN Ketintang I/409 Surabaya. Data diperoleh dari hasil observasi dan tes. Observasi dilakukan untuk mengamati keaktifan siswa selama proses pembelajaran, sementara tes dilakukan untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa memahami materi (hasil belajar siswa). Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran inkuiri, keaktifan dan hasil belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan. Jika pada tindakan siklus I persentase keaktifan mencapai 61,28% dan ketuntasan hasil belajar 63%, siklus II keaktifan 73,2% hasil belajar 74,3%, dan pada siklus III keaktifan mencapai 82,9% dan hasil belajar mencapai 85,71%. Peningkatan keaktifan dan hasil belajar ini disebabkan oleh proses pembelajaran yang melibatkan siswa untuk menemukan sendiri konsep materi yang dipelajari.Kata Kunci: Keaktifan Siswa, Kemampuan Memahami, Model Pembelajaran Inkuiri.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to improve student's social skills and capability of understanding human activities and changes in the economic life through learning model Think Pair Share in V Grade SDN Ploso I / 172 Surabaya. Classroom action research was conducted in two cycles, each cycle includes the stages of planning, execution, observation, and reflection. The result showed the students' social skills in aspects of ability to listen to others on the actions of the first cycle of 74% increased to 86.5% in the second cycle. Aspects of the ability to ask, on the actions of the first cycle of 76.5% increased to 85.5% in the second cycle. Aspects of the ability to establish and maintain friendships, on the actions of the first cycle of 77.5% increased to 88% in the second cycle. Aspect ability to cooperate on the action the first cycle of 77% increased to 88.5% in the second cycle. Viability want to share on the action the first cycle of 77% increased to 87.5% in the second cycle. This classroom action research also managed to improve the students' understanding of human life activity and changes in the economic field in the form of learning outcomes. The results of students in classical completeness cycle I reached 52% and in the second cycle increased to 88%. Based on these results, it was concluded that the social skills and the ability of students to understand the activity and changes in human life in the economic field after applying the learning model Think Pair Share was increased.Keywords: Think Pair Share, Social Skills, Capability of UnderstandingABSTRAKPenelitian tindakan kelas ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan sosial dan kemampuan siswa memahami aktivitas dan perubahan kehidupan manusia dalam bidang ekonomi melalui model pembelajaran Think Pair Share pada siswa kelas V SDN Ploso I/172 Surabaya. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini dilaksanakan dalam 2 siklus, setiap siklus meliputi tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan keterampilan sosial siswa pada aspek kemampuan mendengarkan orang lain pada tindakan siklus I sebesar 74% meningkat menjadi 86,5% pada tindakan siklus II. Aspek kemampuan bertanya, pada tindakan siklus I sebesar 76,5% meningkat menjadi 85,5% pada tindakan siklus II. Aspek kemampuan menjalin dan memelihara pertemanan, pada tindakan siklus I sebesar 77,5% meningkat menjadi 88% pada tindakan siklus II. Aspek kemampuan bekerja sama pada tindakan siklus I sebesar 77% meningkat menjadi 88,5% pada tindakan siklus II. Aspek  kemampuan mau berbagi pada tindakan siklus I sebesar 77% meningkat menjadi 87,5% pada tindakan siklus II. Penelitian tindakan kelas ini juga berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan siswa memahami aktivitas dan perubahan kehidupan manusia pada bidang ekonomi dalam bentuk hasil belajar. Hasil belajar siswa pada tindakan siklus I ketuntasan klasikal mencapai 52% dan pada tindakan siklus II meningkat menjadi 88%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa keterampilan sosial dan kemampuan siswa memahami aktivitas dan perubahan kehidupan manusia pada bidang ekonomi setelah menerapkan model pembelajaran Think Pair Share mengalami peningkatan.Kata Kunci: Think Pair Share, Keterampilan Sosial, Kemampuan memahami

Abstract

In daily life, when people interact, they sometimes use humorous utterances in the conversation. Humor may occur because the speakers flout Grice’s maxims. This study aims to describe how Grice’s maxims flout in the humorous utterances in American Situation Comedy 2 Broke Girls in Season 6 Episode 3-9 and the humorous utterances usually contain laughter. The finding of this study shows that all types of maxims were flouted by the actors and there are different language styles involved in the conversations. The maxim which is flouted the most is quantity and the language style which is found the most is hyperbole. The contents of situation which cause the actors to flout Grice’s maxims are as follows; the actors flout maxim of quality when they say something which is blatantly untrue or they lacks adequate. Then, in flouting of maxim of quantity, the actors sometimes give too little information and too much information. The third, the actors flouts maxim of manner when they say ambiguous, sometime being obscure. Last, the actors flout the maxim of relation if they say something irrelevant in responding to the previous topic. This study can be concluded that Grice’s maxims flouted in humorous utterances and the language styles are also found. The most dominant maxim that flouted is quantity.

Abstract

This research will be based on quantitative research by the fact still learning of classical and a lack of educational gaming device to develop children's creativity. The purpose of the research to answer the problems: "is there any influence the use of blocks pipe educative games tool to development of children's creativity Group B in TK Dharma Wanita Blukon Lumajang?".This research was conducted with a sample in TK Dharma Wanita wich the whole subject totaled 35 children from 5-6 year, consisting of 16 boys and 19 girls. The collected by observation performance sheets during observation with partisipation.. Data analyzed by the statistical analysis (pre-experiment) with the one-group pretest-posttest design. The results of the analysis of the data showed that the value of ttest = 16.67 is greater than the significance level ttable 2.035 0.05 and 0.01 significance level at 2.441 which means our nihil hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the working hypothesis (HI) are accepted. Based on these results it can be concluded that with blocks pipe educative games tool children become excited and happy to learning in the classroom, and can enhance children's creativity Group B in TK Dharma Wanita Blukon Lumajang.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penguasaan Teknologi Informasi Komunikasi (TIK) bagi guru sekolah dasar merupakan sebuah keniscayaan dalam mendukung pelaksanaan tugasnya. Pemanfaatan teknologi harus dapat diintegrasikan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kompetensi guru SD Muhammadiyah Manyar dikorelasikan dengan umur serta latar belakang pendidikan, Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Pengumpulan data melalui observasi dan angket. Level kompetensi TIK yang ditentukan dalam peneilitian ini dasar, menengah, dan mahir, Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa secara umum kompetensi guru SD Muhammadiyah Manyar level dasar 4%, level menengah 82%, dan level mahir 14%. Berdasarkan umur golongan guru muda antara 20-34 tahun level dasar 0%, level menengah 93%, dan level mahir 7%, sedangkan golongan guru senior antara 35-60 tahun level dasar 13%, level menengah 69%, dan level mahir 19%. Berdasarkan latar belakang pendidikan digolongkan menjadi tiga yakni Guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) level dasar 0%, level menengah 75%, dan level mahir 25%. Matematika/IPA (MIPA) level dasar 0%, level menengah 79%, dan level mahir 21%. IPS level dasar 29%, level menengah 71%, dan level mahir 0%, dan Bahasa levenya 100% menengah. Secara umum umur dan latar belakang pendidikan mempunyai korelasi dengan kompetensi  guru dalam penguasaan dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis Teknologi Informasi Komunikasi (TIK).Kata kunci: Kompetensi Guru, Teknologi Informasi dan Komunikasi, Sekolah Dasar Abstract: Mastery of Information Communication Technology (ICT) for elementary school teachers is a necessity in supporting the implementation of their duties. The use of technology must be integrated in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the competence of SD Muhammadiyah Manyar teachers to be correlated with age and educational background. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach. Collecting data through observation and questionnaires. The level of ICT competency determined in this study is basic, intermediate, and proficient. The results of the study indicate that in general the competency of elementary school teachers in Muhammadiyah Manyar is 4% basic, 82% intermediate and 14% advanced. Based on the age of the young teacher group between 20-34 years old, the basic level is 0%, the intermediate level is 93%, and the advanced level is 7%, while the senior teacher group is between 35-65 years old at the basic level of 13%, the middle level is 69%, and the advanced level is 19% . Based on the educational background, it is classified into three, namely Islamic Religion Teachers at the basic level is 0%, intermediate level is 75%, and advanced level is 25%. Mathematics Sciences teacher, 0% basic level, 79% intermediate level, and 21% advanced level. Social teacher for basic level is 29%, middle level is 71%, and advanced level is 0%, and for Bahasa teacher is 100% intermediate. In general, age and educational background have a correlation with teacher competence in mastering and utilizing learning media based on Information Communication Technology (ICT).Keywords: Teacher Competence, Information and Communication Technology, Elementary School

Abstract

The increasing number of advertisers ontelevision, advertising is measured objectively.However, there are still many advertisementsthat fail, because advertising agencies do notdesign advertisements in the form of news. Toplace an ad, the company hires the services ofan advertising agency to design and managethe placement of its advertisements. To restoreclient confidence, an advertising agency mustbe able to increase creativity and selladvertising effectiveness to clients. So, whatthey have to do is create a truly effectiveadvertisement in accordance with what theywant, which aims to improve the image, statusand power of the advertisement they havedesigned. This study uses a factor analysismethod, from 25 question variables reduced to17 question variables. There are 8 variablesthat are wasted or considered not important.The 17 variables are included in the newfactors that are formed, the number of newfactors is 6 factors, namely: advertisingcomponents, attractiveness of advertising,advertising goals, style in the implementationof advertising messages, the psychologicalimpact of advertising, and display advertising.The six factors consisting of 17 variables orcomponents of advertising. After calculatingusing the frequency analysis contained indescriptive statistics, it can be seen that the adcomponent or ad variable that is most indemand by TV viewers is the humorous adcomponent with a percentage value of 50.7%

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kelayakan buku teks pelajaran melalui analisis isi pada buku teks pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial Kurikulum 2013 kelas VII SMP/MTs. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian analisis isi (content analysis). Alasan menggunakan metode analisis isi adalah bahwa peneliti ingin mengungkapkan tentang kelayakan sebuah buku teks pelajaran IPS yang  diterbitkan oleh penerbit diluar Kementerian pendidikan dan kebudayaan apakah sudah sesuai dengan standar kelayakan dari BSNP, yang terdiri dari kelayakan materi/isi, kelayakan penyajian, kelayakan Bahasa, dan kelayakan kegrafikaan. Selain itu peneliti ingin mendeskripsikan apakah materi dalam buku tersebut sudah sesuai dengan kriteria keterpaduan dalam pembelajaran IPS. Data hasil penelitian yang diperoleh sebagai berikut:  aspek kelayakan isi, uraian materi sudah sesuai dengan KI dan KD, keakuratan materi,kemutakhiran materi, mendorong keingintahuan, dan peluasan wawasan sudah dengan standar kelayakan dari BSNP. Aspek kelayakan penyajian yang terdiri dari teknik penyajian, pendukung penyajian, dan penyajian pembelajaran sudah sesuai dengan standar kelayakan. Sedangkan untuk aspek kelayakan Bahasa sebagian besar sudah layak dan aspek yang keempat yaitu kegrafikaan, mulai dari ukuran buku, desain kulit buku dan desain isi buku, juga telah memenuhi standar kelayakan kegrafikan yang telah ditentukan oleh BSNP. Materi yang terdapat pada buku tersebut juga sudah sesuai dengan kaidah keterpaduan dalam pembelajaran IPS. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa buku teks pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial Kurikulum 2013 kelas VII SMP/MTs terbitan Platinum sudah sesuai dengan standar kelayakan dari BSNP dan layak dipakai di sekolah-sekolah, namun masih memerlukan sedikit perbaikan pada beberapa bagian.

Abstract

AbstrakMenjadi guru berarti menyandang dua status sekaligus pada dirinya. Yakni, profesional dan pendidik. Tetapi, kedua status ini tidak hanya didasarkan kompetensi dedaktif-metodik saja. Sebab, ada ekspektasi sosial yang menjadi cita-cita ideal masyarakat. Sehingga, guru profesional bukan semata-mata berorientasi mendapatkan pekerjaan dan pendapatan yang layak, melainkan juga memiliki panggilan jiwa dan kesadaran humanis. Meskipun banyak pelatihan peningkatan profesi guru di berbagai jurusan kependidikan, tetapi prosesnya tidak banyak bermakna. Hal ini disebabkan cara berpikir guru yang materislistik. Oleh sebab itu, makna guru sebagai pekerjaan harus digeser pada posisinya sebagai aktor sosial yang saling berdialog dengan realitas sosialnya untuk menemukan berbagai solusi akan persoalan pendidikan.Kata kunci: guru, pendidik, profesi, dan aktor sosialAbstractBeing teacher means having double status namely professionals and educators. However, both of status are not only based on didaktic-methodical competence. There are social expectation coming from the society to be ideal people. Thus, professional teachers are not solely oriented to get a job and a decent income, but also has a soul and human consciousness. Although there are lot of training to improve the teaching profession in the various departments of education, most of them are meaningless. This is due to the way of teachers’ thought which is materislistic. Therefore, the meaning of the teacher as the workers should be shifted in position as social actors who always engage in mutual dialogue with the social reality to formulate solutions toward issue of education.Keywords: teacher, educator, profession, social actor
