Abstract

This research aims to explore the dominant values adopted by young leaders in mining companies in East Kalimantan and their impact on corporate performance. Utilizing a rigorous ethnographic approach, the study involves four General Managers (GMs) under the age of 40 as primary participants, carefully selected to represent the perspectives and experiences of young leaders in this highly complex sector. Data collection was conducted through various methods, including participatory observation, which enabled the researcher to comprehend the social and cultural contexts influencing decision-making, in-depth interviews that provided insights into the values and personal beliefs of these leaders. The findings of this study reveal that young leaders in the mining companies tend to adopt fundamental values such as integrity, effective communication, collaboration, fast learner and adaptability, which have significantly influenced their daily management practices. By integrating these values into the company’s strategies, these young leaders not only demonstrate a commitment to sustainability practices and social responsibility but also succeed in creating an inclusive and collaborative work environment where every individual feels valued and motivated to contribute. The impact of the implementation of these values on corporate performance is observed through enhanced operational efficiency, an improved company reputation in the public eye, and a significant increase in employee satisfaction levels. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi nilai-nilai dominan yang diadopsi oleh pemimpin muda di perusahaan pertambangan di Kalimantan Timur dan dampaknya terhadap kinerja perusahaan. Berdasarkan pendekatan etnografi yang mendalam, penelitian ini melibatkan empat orang General Manager (GM) yang berusia di bawah 45 tahun sebagai partisipan utama, yang dipilih dengan cermat untuk merepresentasikan perspektif dan pengalaman pemimpin muda di sektor yang sangat kompleks ini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui berbagai metode, termasuk observasi partisipatif yang memungkinkan peneliti untuk memahami konteks sosial dan budaya yang mempengaruhi pengambilan keputusan, wawancara mendalam yang memberikan wawasan atas nilai-nilai dan keyakinan pribadi para pemimpin tersebut. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pemimpin muda di perusahaan pertambangan tersebut cenderung mengadopsi nilai-nilai fundamental seperti integritas, komunikasi efektif, kolaboratif, fast learner dan adaptabilitas, yang secara signifikan telah memengaruhi praktik manajemen sehari-hari. Dengan mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai ini dalam strategi perusahaan, pemimpin muda tidak hanya menunjukkan komitmen terhadap praktik keberlanjutan dan tanggung jawab sosial, tetapi juga berhasil menciptakan lingkungan kerja yang inklusif dan kolaboratif, di mana setiap individu merasa dihargai dan termotivasi untuk berkontribusi. Dampak dari penerapan nilai-nilai ini terhadap kinerja perusahaan bisa dilihat melalui peningkatan efisiensi operasional, reputasi perusahaan yang lebih baik di mata publik, serta tingkat kepuasan karyawan yang mengalami peningkatan signifikan.

Abstract

This study aims to understand community preferences for choosing alternative medical treatment through grounded theory methodology. This method was selected to explore the decision-making process and the meanings individuals assign when choosing alternative medicine compared to conventional medical treatment. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with six respondents who have experience using alternative medicine, selected from various educational, social, and cultural backgrounds. The data analysis process was conducted using coding techniques (open coding), category formation (axial coding), and theme integration (selective coding) to build a substantive theory regarding this phenomenon. The study results indicate that the choice of alternative medicine is influenced by several key factors, including the desire for safe treatment free from chemicals, as well as personal experiences and recommendations from close acquaintances, friends, or family, which are obtained through word-of-mouth or social media. Additionally, patients' decisions are also influenced by a more holistic approach to addressing health issues, both physical and emotional. The theory that can be constructed from the research data is that patients prefer alternative medicine because they perceive it as safe, without side effects, free from chemical medications, and able to be combined with medical treatment. The conclusions drawn from this research illustrate that the selection of alternative medicine is a dynamic process influenced by subjective experiences, beliefs, and individual emotional needs. These findings are important for healthcare providers to understand the reasons behind patient preferences and how a holistic approach can be better integrated into the healthcare system. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami preferensi masyarakat dalam memilih pengobatan alternatif melalui metode grounded theory. Metode ini dipilih untuk mengeksplorasi proses pengambilan keputusan serta makna yang diberikan individu dalam memilih pengobatan alternatif dibandingkan dengan pengobatan medis konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 6 responden yang memiliki pengalaman menggunakan pengobatan alternatif, yang dipilih dari berbagai latar belakang pendidikan, sosial, budaya, Proses analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan coding (open coding), pembentukan kategori (axial coding), dan integrasi tema (selective coding) untuk membangun teori substantif mengenai fenomena ini. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pilihan terhadap pengobatan alternatif dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor utama seperti keinginan untuk pengobatan yang aman dan bebas bahan kimia, dan juga dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman pribadi dan rekomendasi dari orang terdekat, teman atau keluarga, yang didapat dari informasi mulut ke mulut atau sosial media. Selain itu, keputusan pasien juga dipengaruhi oleh pendekatan yang lebih holistik untuk menangani masalah kesehatan, baik fisik maupun emosional. Teori yang dapat dibangun dari data hasil penelitian adalah, preferensi pasien dalam memilih pengobatan alternatif karena mereka merasa pengobatan ini aman, di mana tanpa efek samping, bebas pemberian obat bahan kimia, dan bisa dikombinasikan dengan pengobatan medis. Kesimpulan yang dihasilkan dari penelitian ini menggambarkan bahwa pemilihan pengobatan alternatif merupakan proses dinamis yang dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman subjektif, keyakinan, serta kebutuhan emosional individu. Temuan ini penting bagi penyedia layanan kesehatan untuk memahami alasan di balik preferensi pasien dan bagaimana pendekatan holistik dapat diintegrasikan lebih baik dalam sistem perawatan kesehatan.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the motivation of students to participate in the Putera Puteri Kampus Riau election and also the benefits they achieve after participating in the event. This research uses qualitative research methods with a phenomenological approach. The subjects in this study amounted to six people according to predetermined criteria. Data collection techniques involved interviews and documentation. The results showed that the motivation of students to participate in the Putera Puteri Kampus Riau election was driven by the desire to increase their potential and achievement, recognition from others, seeing the success of others in similar events, the desire to build relationships and self-image, and wanting to influence others. The benefits they get after participating in the Putera Puteri Kampus Riau election are skill development, increased knowledge, offers of cooperation from sponsors, relationships and also increased knowledge and experience in leadership.

Abstract

Pendidikan vokasi menjadi salah satu solusi strategis dalam menjawab kebutuhan tenaga kerja yang memiliki keterampilan praktis di era revolusi industri 4.0. Dalam konteks ini, Lembaga Kursus dan Pelatihan (LKP) seperti LKP Prisma Pangkalan Bun berperan penting dalam menyediakan pendidikan nonformal yang fleksibel, terjangkau, dan berbasis kebutuhan industri. LKP Prisma, yang telah beroperasi sejak 2009, menyediakan berbagai program pelatihan kejuruan, namun dalam lima tahun terakhir mengalami tren penurunan jumlah pendaftar secara signifikan. Fenomena ini mendorong pentingnya kajian empiris terhadap efektivitas strategi pemasaran yang dijalankan, khususnya digital marketing, personal selling, dan referral marketing, dalam memengaruhi keputusan mendaftar peserta didik baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh digital marketing, personal selling, dan referral marketing terhadap keputusan mendaftar peserta didik baru di LKP Prisma Pangkalan Bun. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan populasi seluruh peserta didik baru tahun ajaran 2024/2025, yang berjumlah 42 orang dan diambil sebagai sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Analisis data dilakukan dengan metode regresi linier berganda menggunakan SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Digital marketing secara parsial tidak berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap keputusan mendaftar; (2) Personal selling secara parsial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan; (3) Referral marketing juga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan secara parsial; dan (4) Secara simultan, ketiga strategi pemasaran tersebut berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keputusan mendaftar peserta didik baru. Temuan ini memberikan rekomendasi penting bagi pengelola lembaga pendidikan nonformal dalam merancang strategi promosi yang lebih efektif dan kontekstual.

Abstract

One of the requirements for graduation is writing a thesis. Choosing the right topic and supervisor is crucial for producing high-quality research. This study analyzes the factors influencing students' choice of thesis topic and supervisor using a qualitative approach. The participants involved in this study consisted of 11 students from the 2022 cohort, without distinguishing gender and other social backgrounds, and were selected purposively, with the criterion of having completed a proposal seminar. The data collection process was conducted through semi-structured interviews that allowed participants to provide in-depth answers and explain their perspectives on the selection of thesis topics and supervisors. Data analysis used thematic analysis to identify patterns that emerged from the participants' responses. The results of this study found that the preferences for selecting thesis topics and supervisors among Sociology students at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Riau University, were greatly influenced by various factors, including the relevance of social issues, the background of the supervisor, and a good supervisory approach. Students tend to choose topics that are trendy in line with current developments and want support from lecturers who have an emotional connection with students and are experienced in their chosen field.

Abstract

Tingginya pertumbuhan pengguna e-commerce di Indonesia dimanfaatkan oleh PT. Telekomunikasi Indonesia dengan membuat sebuah e-commerce hasil kerjasama dengan eBay yang bernama BLANJA.COM. Perusahaan yang resmi diluncurkan pada tahun 2014 ini siap untuk memberikan kemudahan bagi masyarakat Indonesia dalam berbelanja digital serta membantu Usaha Kecil Menengah (UKM) di Indonesia untuk dapat memasarkan produk secara nasional. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengukur pengaruh reputasi dan kualitas situs web terhadap emosi konsumen, risiko yang dirasakan, dan niat beli pada e-commerce BLANJA.COM. Metode yang digunakan adalah Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah kausal yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 275 responden dengan teknik nonprobability sampling dalam menentukan sampel penelitian dengan kuesioner sebagai alat pengumpulan data dan kemudian diolah menggunakan LISREL 8.80. Hasil dari penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa reputasi, desain situs web, keamanan/privasi, dan pemenuhan kebutuhan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap emosi konsumen. Reputasi, desain situs web, pelayanan pelanggan, pemenuhan kebutuhan, dan kemanan privasi berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap risiko yang dirasakan. Emosi konsumen dan risiko yang dirasakan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap minat beli pada e-commerce BLANJA.COM dengan emosi konsumen dan risiko yang dirasakan dapat menjelaskan 72% varian dari minat beli, sedangkan sisanya 28% dijelaskan faktor lain diluar penelitian.

Abstract

Daun Angsana memiliki khasiat sebagai antidiabetes, akan tetapi pemberian melalui rute per oral akan menyebabkan epikatekin sebagai senyawa aktif mengalami hidrolisis dalam suasana asam di lambung. Sebagai rute alternatif adalah pemberian secara transdermal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efek hipoglikemik dan uji hipersensitivitas sediaan transdermal ekstrak etanol daun Angsana. Komposisi patch transdermal yang digunakan adalah HPMC, gliserol, asam oleat dan ekstrak daun Angsana masing-masing dengan dosis 19,89 mg/cm2 dan 39,78 mg/cm2. Hewan yang digunakan pada uji efek hipoglikemik adalah tikus putih jantan galur wistar yang diinduksi aloksan monohidrat 150 mg/kgBB secara intramuscular (i.m.). Tikus diukur kadar glukosa darahnya setelah 6 jam pemberian patch transdermal pada hari ke-2 sampai dengan hari ke-7. Sedangkan hewan coba untuk uji hipersensitivitas adalah marmut jantan. Sensitisasi marmut dilakukan dengan cara perlukaan dan pemberian suspensi Staphylococcus aureus kemudian dibiarkan kembali selama 48 jam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian ekstrak daun Pterocarpus indicus Willd. dalam dosis 35,36 mg/cm2 dan 70,72 mg/cm2 secara transdermal dengan enhancer asam oleat, dapat menurunkan kadar glukosa darah pada tikus yang dibuat hiperglikemik. Aplikasi sediaan patch transdermal daun Angsana dosis 2,88 mg/cm2 dan 5,77 mg/cm2 tidak menyebabkan hipersensitivitas terhadap kulit marmut yang telah disensitisasi dalam perlakuan selama 14 hari. Abstract

Ketoprofen is a non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs,often used as a post operative analgesic for the patient which is oral drug delivery, so ketoprofen should be formulated in rectal gel dosage forms that their therapeutic effect can be achieved quickly and has a low solubility. Tween 80 is a surfactant that is used to improve the solubility of ketoprofen. The purposes of this study were to determine the effect of Tween 80 on the release of ketoprofen and the physical quality of rectal gel. Evaluation of physical quality of the preparation includes organoleptic test, homogeneity test, spreadability test, viscosity test and pH test. The release of ketoprofen determined by Franz diffusion cell using whatman membrane 0.45μm and a solution of pH 7.4 phosphate buffer as receptor media. The amount of ketoprofen pass in through the membrane was determined by UV-VIS spectrophotometer. The results showed that the release profile of ketoprofen was affected by the concentration of Tween 80, the greater the concentration of Tween 80 the greater the value of flux release. Abstract

Onion is a traditional medicine that has a lot of pharmacological potential. Flavanoid compounds found in onions have an antipyretic effect that acts as an inhibitor of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes that play a role in the formation of prostaglandins. In this study red onion is formulated into a patch because of its practical use and can avoid the first metabolic pathway. This study aims to analyze the effect of onion ethanol extract patch (Allium ascalonicum L.) on the decrease of body temperature and the number of monocytes in white rats induced by DPT vaccine. This study used 4 treatment groups: positive controls administered paracetamol syrup, negative controls given placebo patch, treatment group 1 treated with red onion ethanol extract without enhancers and treatment group 2 treated with an red onion ethanol extract with enhancers. Rats adapted for 7 days before temperature being measured and the blood being collected from the rat tail in order to calculate the number of monocytes. The animal temperature was measured after injected with vaccine DPT at 15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90, 105, 120, 150, 180 minutes meanwhile number of monocyte were calculated every 15 minutes for 120 minutes. The results showed that there was no significant difference in monocyte count of treatment group with positive control but there were significant differences in temperature. The use of onion ethanol extract patch may decrease the temperature and number of monocytes in white mice induced by DPT vaccine.

Abstract

Traditional medicine can be used to treat various diseases, one of which is onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) as an antipyretic agent. In this study, the antipyretic potency of ethanol extract of onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) was tested using chitosan and Span-80 as enhancer matrix with temperature and number of intraperitoneal macrophages in white rats as parameters. This study used 20 male white rats Wistar that were induced with DPTHb vaccine intraperitoneally and then divided into four groups namely positive control group (paracetamol), negative control (placebo without extract and without enhancer), formulation 1 (with extract and without enhancer), and formulation 2 (with extracts and enhancers). The results were analyzed using One Way Anova and if the results were significant, then the test continued with Duncan 5%. Correlation calculations were used to determine the relationship between temperature reduction and total intraperitoneal macrophages. The results showed that the temperature reduction did not provide a significant difference between the positive control (paracetamol) and formulation 2 (with extracts and enhancers), whereas in the negative control (without extract and without enhancer) there was no significant difference with formulation 1 (with extract and without enhancers). The total results of intraperitoneal macrophages were significantly different in all groups with a significant> 0.05.
