Abstract

This evaluation study aims to evaluate the extracurricular program of reading the Qur'an at MIN Bone through a qualitative approach where the data is sourced from the results of interviews, documentation, and observations, which are then analyzed by reducing, presenting, and verifying the data, then drawing it into a final conclusion. The results show that the context aspect is stated to have met the needs of MIN 1 Bone students and received adequate resource support, so this program is said to have run well. Various criteria set in the input aspect have also been met, such as the availability of facilities and infrastructure, the competence of program supervisors, and the number of students participating in the program to be considered running well. However, the process aspect is considered quite good because there are still obstacles, especially student discipline. Meanwhile, several main objectives of the program cannot be realized optimally in the product aspect where the total number of students who have successfully memorized the Qur'an is still low compared to the number of program participants so this aspect is considered less good. Therefore, improvements are needed to implement the program to achieve the desired goals.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing APITO (Online Stay Permit Registration Application) for foreign nationals at the Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office. APITO was introduced as a digital solution to simplify the stay permit registration process for foreign nationals entering Indonesia. This research focuses on five main indicators for evaluating APITO's effectiveness: program comprehension, target accuracy, timeliness, goal achievement, and tangible impact on users and related institutions. The research method employed in this study is a qualitative approach, where data was collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and document analysis related to APITO’s implementation. The findings indicate that, in general, APITO’s application is quite effective, with varying effectiveness percentages across each indicator. The program comprehension indicator shows an effectiveness rate of 72%, but more efficient communication is still needed to enhance users’ understanding of application procedures. The target accuracy indicator shows an effectiveness of 68%, with challenges in providing clearer guidance for new users. Meanwhile, in terms of timeliness, the application achieves 74% effectiveness, indicating a positive accomplishment though system reliability can still be improved. The conclusion from this study indicates that APITO has the potential to enhance the quality of immigration services for foreign nationals, although several aspects require refinement. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Immigration Office strengthen technical infrastructure such as internet networks and server capacity, especially during peak periods of stay permit requests. Additionally, brief training or socialization on APITO usage should be provided for foreign users, both offline at airports and online via video guides. Multi-language support is also recommended to help users from various countries access the application more easily.

Abstract

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has significantly impacted maternal and perinatal healthcare worldwide, including in Indonesia. Restrictions on access to health services have forced mothers to adapt to new challenges in breastfeeding during the pandemic. The aim of this study was to evaluate mothers’ breastfeeding experiences and the role of husbands in providing support during this period. This qualitative research used a phenomenological approach. Data were collected from August to October 2022 through a focus group discussion (FGD). Participants were selected using maximum variation sampling, with eight mothers participating in the FGD. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis, revealing four main themes: (1) not all husbands fully supported mothers’ efforts to provide exclusive breastfeeding; (2) supportive and inhibiting factors help to provide exclusive breastfeeding; (3) mothers understood the benefits and identified the causes of failure in providing exclusive breastfeeding and complementary food for breast milk; and (4) various stressors experienced by mothers did not impede breastfeeding efforts. In conclusion, the findings highlight the need for healthcare workers, especially maternity nurses, to encourage continued breastfeeding and emphasize the importance of husbands’ support in providing exclusive breastfeeding initiatives. Interventions should be designed to actively involve husbands in supporting exclusive breastfeeding practices.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Malang Mbois app as a super-app innovation aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of public services in the city of Malang. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the extent to which the Malang Mbois app can meet expectations in improving public service efficiency and to identify the factors contributing to its success and the obstacles encountered in its implementation. A qualitative research method was employed, with data obtained from interviews with service users, city government stakeholders, and an analysis of the digital footprint of the app in daily operations. Diffusion of innovations theory served as the theoretical foundation to assess the five main characteristics of innovation: relative advantage, compatibility, complexity, trialability, and observability, all identified as key factors influencing the adoption rate of the Malang Mbois app. The findings indicate that the Malang Mbois app has successfully increased the effectiveness of public services, with 80% of users reporting enhanced satisfaction due to greater efficiency and transparency in services. Direct observation of the app demonstrated a significant reduction in the average waiting time from several weeks to just a few days for administrative processes such as business licensing. The study also identified several challenges, including the need for enhanced security infrastructure and training programs to improve digital literacy among users unfamiliar with technology. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Malang city government intensifies efforts to integrate data, expand digital education programs, and strengthen the security of the app to support broader and sustained adoption of the Malang Mbois app. Implementing these recommendations can help address existing challenges and maximize the potential of the Malang Mbois app as an effective public service tool.

Abstract

In the world of lectures, the use of computers is very popular among students, because computers help with assignments, search for information, communicate and others. However, if the use of computers is carried out for a long period of time, it will cause tension in the eye muscles, which can cause eye fatigue. Efforts to prevent eye fatigue are by doing eye exercise movements to improve the ability of the nerves and eye muscles. This study aims to analyze the difference in the mean value of eye fatigue between the treatment group and the control group towards reducing the level of eye fatigue in students of the Information Technology Study Program at the Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra. This study is an experimental study using a randomized pre-posttest control group design. The study was conducted at the Muhammadiyah University of North Sumatra. A sample of 30 people was randomly selected to select research subjects. The research subjects numbered 15 people in the treatment group who were given eye gymnastics and 15 people in the control group without being given eye gymnastics. The level of eye fatigue was measured using an eye fatigue questionnaire consisting of 9 questions about symptoms of eye fatigue. Data analysis used a paired t-test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the mean eye fatigue in the treatment group. The difference test of the pre-test and post-test scores of the two groups also showed that there was a significant difference in scores of 2.13 with a p value of 0.00 in the treatment group (p <0.05), while the p value was 0.15 in the control group (p>0.05). This proves that eye exercise has an effect on reducing the level of eye fatigue in students. It is concluded that eye exercise can reduce the level of eye fatigue in students.

Abstract

The development of the implementation of the School Operational Assistance Policy (BOSP) in Surabaya faces various challenges that affect policy optimization. This study aims to analyze the role of local government in optimizing the BOSP policy using Edward III's policy implementation theory, which includes communication, bureaucratic structure, resources, and the disposition or attitudes of implementers. This research employs a qualitative method by collecting data through in-depth interviews with informants from the education office and educational institutions in Surabaya, as well as documentation studies related to the BOSP policy. The study results show that communication contributes 68% to the success of the BOSP policy implementation, although there are still shortcomings in responsiveness and socialization. Bureaucratic structure contributes 72%, with major challenges in fragmented coordination between units and complex decision-making procedures. Resources contribute the highest at 74%, but limitations in staff competence and technological infrastructure remain significant obstacles. The disposition or attitudes of implementers contribute 73% to success, though deficiencies in discipline, integrity, and initiative are still evident. These four aspects indicate that while most elements have performed well, there is still room for improvement requiring serious attention to enhance policy effectiveness. The conclusion of this study is that optimizing the BOSP policy in Surabaya requires strengthening the four analyzed aspects. To address communication shortcomings, more structured and responsive socialization mechanisms are needed. Bureaucratic fragmentation can be resolved by simplifying procedures and integrating data management systems. Human resource and technological limitations must be addressed through intensive training and infrastructure investment. Finally, implementer disposition can be improved through development programs and supervision. These strategic recommendations can support the Surabaya local government in optimizing the implementation of the BOSP policy in a transparent, accountable, and effective manner to achieve better educational goals.
