Abstract

Childbirth often results in tears in the birth canal, tears occur in almost all first births and not infrequently in subsequent deliveries these tears are caused by spontaneous lacerations in the perineum when the baby is born. Perineal wounds resulting from childbirth, if not treated, have the potential to cause infection due to germs entering through the stitched wounds. The infected part will cause symptoms of heat, pain, fever, discharge such as vaginal discharge, pus and the skin will be red around it. The type of research used is descriptive, namely knowing the mother's knowledge about perineal wound care. The sampling technique in this study used a total sampling of 33 people. After conducting the research, it was discovered that the majority of respondents' knowledge was in the poor category, namely (54.6%) in Aek Haruaya village in 2024. This can be understood, considering that the majority of respondents' education was in the education category. basic, namely, as much as (44.1%). Education is a formal and non-formal activity as an effort to develop a person's mindset, personality and abilities both inside and outside school as well as life experiences that last a lifetime. the majority of respondents' knowledge is in the sufficient category, namely (24.2%) in Aek Haruaya village in 2024. This can be understood, considering that the majority of respondents are in the 21-35 years category, namely (47.0%). understandable, considering that the majority of respondents' work is in the non-working/domestic category, namely (44.1%). Every health worker, especially midwives, should be able to provide education to mothers about caring for perineal wounds after giving birth as an effort to speed up the healing process of the mother's perineum.

Abstract

The almond moth Cadra cautella (Walker) is a notable stored product pest which can cause detrimental loss on stored cocoa. Cocoa can be stored in bean and powder forms. The information about survival and development of C. cautella on stored cocoa is limited. This research aimed to determine the effect of cocoa powder and cocoa bean in the storage against the survival and development of C. cautella. This research was conducted in Plant Pests Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Brawijaya. This research consisted of two treatments namely cocoa bean and cocoa powder with no choice method and repeated six times. The observed variables were number of larvae, pupae, male and female almond moth of F1 progeny, and developmental time of this insect. The t-test analysis was applied to determine the treatment effect. Results showed that the number of larvae, pupae, adult males and females of F1 progeny cultured on cocoa powder were significantly higher than on cocoa bean. The total developmental time and life cycle of almond moth were shorter on cocoa powder than on cocoa bean. Therefore, to store cocoa in powder form is riskier to the almond moth infestation rather than in bean form. Hence, it is suggested to take more concern on the cocoa powder storage better in order to minimize the almond moth infestation.

Abstract

The study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of group guidance with Self-Control techniques to reduce consumptive behavior in KIP recipient students. This research uses quasi-experiment with one group pretest and posttes design. The research sample was selected using nonprobability sampling design technique using purposive sampling. The sample selection obtained 5 students from a total of 30 students who were categorized as high consumptive behavior questionnaire scores. The data collection technique used is a consumptive behavior questionnaire. Researchers used data analysis techniques with the Statistical Program For Social Sciences (SPSS) 2.5 for windows 11 test, obtained a t value of 34.785, which means that there has been a decrease in students' insecure feelings. With df = n-1 obtained df = 4 at a significant level of 5% then obtained ttabel 2.132, meaning t count> ttabel (34.785> 2.132). Thus it can be concluded that Ha which reads "Group guidance with Self-Control techniques has an effect in reducing consumptive behavior in students receiving KIP PGRI Banyuwangi University." accepted. The results showed that group guidance with Self-Control techniques proved effective in reducing consumptive behavior in students receiving KIP at PGRI Banyuwangi University.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the existence of class VIII junior high school students who experienced reading disorders (dyslexia). The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of tutoring services using a humanistic approach to multisensory techniques to overcome difficulties in learning to read (dyslexia) in class VIII SMP Harapan 2 Genteng. This type of research is qualitative. Data collection techniques used include tests (pre-test, treatment, post-test), observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study show that the pre-test results of students who had difficulty learning to read before being given treatment with multisensory techniques were very low. Students are not yet able to differentiate between several letters that are almost the same and students are not able to read letters that end in consonants (patents). However, after being given treatment with multisensory techniques assisted by reading card learning media, reading wheels and writing sand. Students experience many changes starting from being able to differentiate letters that are almost the same to reading words that end in consonants (patens).

Abstract

Tribolium confusum Jacquelin du Val (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae) is a major stored product pest that can damage flour in storage. The infestation of T. confusum causes contamination of stored grain, such as flour. Research about the population growth of T. confusum in various commercial and non-commercial flours is still limited. This study aims to determine the population growth of T. confusum in various commercial and non-commercial flours. The study was conducted using the no-choice test method (NCTM). This study used a treatment jar containing 30 g of diet and infested 15 pairs of T. confusum adults for 7 days. Data obtained from this research were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and further analyzed using the Duncan Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the number of larvae, pupae, and F1 progeny of T. confusum was higher in non-commercial red rice flour (80, 50 individuals; 59, 50 individuals; 57, 50 individuals) compared to other types of flour. The chemical characteristics of diets that can affect the population growth of T. confusum include fat, ash, carbohydrate, and phenol content. In conclusion, understanding the chemical characteristics of flour is crucial for developing a strategy to control T. confusum.
