Abstract

Health and fitness are something that is important for someone, including elderly people. Apart from health and fitness, the level of independence in the elderly is also important as a reference for how an elderly person carries out daily activities. Independence is an ability or condition where an individual can manage or overcome his own interests without depending on other people. The aim of this service is to provide education and evaluation in providing an overview to the public about the profile or status of health, fitness and level of independence in the elderly. The community service method is carried out by conducting evaluations as well as education on how to maintain health and fitness, especially for the elderly. Evaluation of health, fitness and level of independence is carried out by measuring blood pressure and measuring VO2max. The level of independence is measured using the Activity Daily Living (ADL) instrument. Participants in this service were 40 elderly people consisting of 19 men and 21 women in collaboration with the NGO Development of Indonesian Sports Achievement and Health Potential (P3KORIN). The results of this service were obtained (1) The average blood pressure in male participants was 146/88 mmHg minute while in females it was 150/86 mmHg which was included in the hypertension category: (2) The average VO2 Max in males was 18.7 (ml.kg-1.min-1) while for women the average was 17 (ml.kg-1.min-1) which are both included in the very low category; (3) Activity Daily Living (ADL) is included in the good category with the average score for each gender being 5. In conclusion, the results of this service can be felt to be very useful in providing information and knowledge to partners (P3KORIN) about conditions and an overview of the health, fitness and level of independence of elderly people in the city of Makassar. This service also provides an overview of the factors that influence the health, fitness and independence of the elderly in the city of Makassar.

Abstract

Fundamental movement skills provide an important foundation for elementary school students in their future participation in a variety of physical activities. This community service activity in the form of soialization aims to provide comprehensive knowledge about the importance of learning of fundamental movement skills for students' future and practical implementation in physical education learning. The partner's problem in this activity is that there is still a lack of understanding and not optimal learning of fundamental movement skills in physical education learning at school. The partner in this activity is SD Hang Tuah Makassar, Makassar City, South Sulawesi Province. This socialization activity was divided into several series of activities, namely: (1) Discussion of material with the teacher regarding learning fundamental movement skills, (2) discussion with the teacher regarding learning basic locomotor, non-locomotor and manipulative movement skills based on the theory of fundamental movement skills, and (4) Practice examples of learning fundamental movement skills for students. This activity provided results, namely a comprehensive understanding for teachers and students of the importance of mastering and learning of fundamental movement skills.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan teknologi penyembelihan dan pengulitan hewan sapi qurban. Metode yang digunakan yaitu penyuluhan, demonstrasi, praktik langsung, dan pendampingan. Hasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan ini alat penyembelihan memiliki spesifikasi teknis rangka dengan hollow disertai dengan motor hoist. Rangka bersifat portable yang dapat digunakan untuk merebahkan sapi sehingga saat penyembelihan sapi tidak memberontak dan lebih nyaman. Penyembelihan dan pengulitan hewan sapi qurban dapat digunakan pada sapi dengan beban berat maksimal sebesar 500 kg. Teknologi penyembelihan hewan kurban ini memiliki keunggulan yaitu lebih efisien, praktis, mudah dibawa, ergonomis dan higienis.

Abstract

ABSTRAKIndustri makanan berkembang pesat seiring dengan semakin banyaknya jumlah penduduk dan juga rapidnya kemajuan teknologi. Frozen food adalah salah satu makanan praktis yang sangat akrab bagi para masyarakat dan hampir selalu ada di setiap lemari pendingin di rumah-rumah mereka. Begitu banyak produsen dari frozen food yang ada di Indonesia sehingga menyebabkan persaingan yang sangat ketat. Tidak sedikit dari mereka yang memiliki perkembangan bisnis yang stagnan karena terus bermain di pasar lokal. Perusahaan seperti ini diketahui memiliki produk yang tidak menyertakan merk pada produknya dan juga belum memiliki pengaturan keuangan yang baik. Namun demikian, PT. Serena Harsa Utama adalah salah satu produsen frozen food yang telah memiliki manajemen yang baik dan berpengalaman selama 9 tahun, juga memiliki beberapa brand dan bermain di ceruk pasar yang belum terlayani dengan baik oleh para market leader. Penelitian ini sendiri bersifat kuantitatif dengan berdasarkan kepada data sekunder berbentuk time series. yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk melihat bagaimana fluktuasi operational cost dapat berpengaruh kepada peningkatan gross revenue pada industry makanan. Berdasarkan data keuangan perusahaan ini dari tahun 2017 hingga 2022 didapatkan hasil penelitian bahwa perubahan operational cost memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan gross revenue.ABSTRACTThe food industry is growing rapidly along with the increasing population and the rapid advancement of technology. Frozen food is one of the practical foods that is very familiar to the community and is almost always in every refrigerator in their homes. So many producers of frozen food exist in Indonesia that it causes fierce competition. Not a few of them have stagnant business development because they continue to play in the local market. Companies like this are known to have products that do not include brands on their products and also do not have good financial arrangements. However, PT Serena Harsa Utama is one of the frozen food producers that has good management and 9 years of experience, also has several brands and plays in niche markets that have not been well served by market leaders. This research itself is quantitative in nature based on secondary data in the form of time series. conducted aims to see how fluctuations in operational costs can affect the increase in gross revenue in the food industry. Based on the company's financial data from 2017 to 2022, the research results show that changes in operational costs have a significant effect on gross revenue.

Abstract

This study aims to develop educational media grounded in Pancasila values to enhance multicultural education in higher education. In a diverse society like Indonesia, education that promotes democracy, justice, and inclusivity is becoming increasingly vital. Employing a Research and Development (R&D) methodology based on the Borg & Gall model, this study includes stages of design, development, expert validation, limited user testing, and dissemination. The resulting product comprises five thematic educational media tools, each representing a dimension of multicultural education grounded in one or more principles of Pancasila. Validation was conducted by two civic education experts and five students who had previously taken a Multicultural Education course. Findings indicate that all media were deemed appropriate, with an average evaluation score exceeding 80. Expert feedback highlighted the need for improvements in visual aesthetics, image clarity, and the integration of the curriculum. The study demonstrates that Pancasila-based educational media not only enhance students’ cognitive understanding but also foster critical awareness and inclusive attitudes in civic life. The developed media show strong potential for integration into both Civic Education and Multicultural Education courses at the tertiary level.

Abstract

Bullying in schools negatively affects students’ emotional, social, and academic development. This study aims to develop a quartet card learning medium as an informational tool for bullying prevention among elementary school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The product was validated by material experts, media experts, and teachers, and tested on fourth-grade students in small and large groups. Results indicated high feasibility, with scores of 93% from material experts, 88.75% from media experts, and 89% from teachers, as well as positive student responses of 94% and 97%. The medium effectively enhanced students’ understanding and awareness of bullying forms, impacts, and prevention. The study implies that quartet cards can serve as an alternative educational tool in guidance and counseling services and offers originality through a 3D-illustrated design aligned with students’ cognitive development stages.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a guidebook for writing explanatory texts to improve the writing skills of class VI students at SDN Karangwuluh, Kulon Progo Regency. This research uses a research and development (R&D) approach based on Sugiyono's theory which has been adapted to research needs into seven implementation stages, namely: 1) data collection, 2) product design, 3) design validation, 4) design review, 5) product testing, 6) trial use, and 7) final product. The results of this research show that: (1) the guidebook was developed according to the student and teacher needs questionnaire; (2) valid guidebook based on validation from material experts and media experts. Obtained a percentage of 82% in the very appropriate category from material experts and a percentage of 83.5% in the very appropriate category from media experts; (3) the percentage of teacher responses after using the guidebook classically was 91.38% with very good criteria, the percentage of classical student responses was 88.82% with very good criteria; (4) the guidebook is effectively used in learning to write explanatory texts, the results of the t-test average difference analysis are 8.940 and the average increase (gain) is 0.71 with high criteria. The conclusion of this research is that the guidebook is suitable for use in learning activities.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengatasi permasalahan rendahnya self-confidence siswa dalam Pendidikan Jasmani di SD Inpres Tamalanrea 1, Kota Makassar. Rendahnya kepercayaan diri ini teridentifikasi berkorelasi dengan pembelajaran yang belum optimal berfokus pada penguasaan keterampilan motorik dasar. Metode yang digunakan adalah sosialisasi dan simulasi partisipatif yang melibatkan siswa dan guru. Kegiatan ini memberikan pemahaman teoretis mengenai hubungan kausal antara penguasaan motorik dasar dan self-confidence, serta memberikan praktik langsung melalui permainan motorik yang dirancang secara suportif dan inklusif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan perubahan perilaku yang signifikan pada siswa. Observasi kualitatif menemukan adanya peningkatan partisipasi aktif, keberanian untuk mencoba (willingness to try) tugas motorik baru, dan resiliensi yang lebih baik saat menghadapi kegagalan. Kegiatan ini berhasil memberikan pengalaman keberhasilan (mastery experiences) yang secara langsung membangun kepercayaan diri siswa. Umpan balik dari guru mitra juga sangat positif, menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan komitmen untuk melanjutkan metode pembelajaran yang suportif ini.

Abstract

This article examines the role of the state in shaping identity politics that lead to violence, through comparative case studies of the Rohingya conflict in Myanmar and the Israel-Palestine conflict. Using the theoretical framework of securitization and identity politics, this qualitative comparative research analyzes how governments in both cases construct certain identity groups as security threats. The findings indicate that in both Myanmar and the Israel-Palestine conflict, state actors actively engaged in “securitization”, portraying ethnic or religious minority identities as existential threats, to justify repressive policies and violence. In Myanmar, the regime mainstreamed a narrative of threat to Buddhist national identity to legitimize the repression and ethnic cleansing of the Rohingya. Meanwhile, in the Israel-Palestine conflict, the State of Israel emphasizes the state’s Jewish identity and securitizes the Palestinian population as a threat, resulting in military occupation and human rights violations. The study concludes that identity politics securitized by the state can fuel violent conflict and neglect the human security of oppressed groups. These findings contribute to the understanding of identity conflicts, state violence, and human security in international relations by elucidating linkages between state-driven identity construction, securitization, and violence against minorities. Abstract

Rendahnya aktivitas fisik dan dominasi perilaku sedentari pada siswa sekolah dasar menjadi permasalahan serius yang diperparah oleh minimnya pemahaman guru Pendidikan Jasmani mengenai konsep physical literacy. Pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pemahaman guru dan siswa di SD Inpres Rappokalling 2 Makassar melalui sosialisasi dan pendampingan aktivitas berbasis physical literacy. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui metode ceramah untuk penguatan konsep guru dan demonstrasi permainan modifikasi (game-based learning) yang melibatkan siswa secara langsung. Intervensi ini berhasil mengubah paradigma guru dari pendekatan teknis (drills) menjadi pendekatan holistik. Penerapan permainan yang mengintegrasikan aspek fisik, kognitif, sosial, dan psikologis terbukti meningkatkan antusiasme dan kepercayaan diri siswa secara signifikan. Pendekatan physical literacy disimpulkan efektif menjadi solusi strategis dalam membangun budaya gerak aktif dan menanggulangi gaya hidup sedentari di lingkungan sekolah dasar.
