Abstract

Salah satu kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa pada jenjang sarjana adalah kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat, yaitu bagian integral tri dharma perguruan tinggi yang dalam pelaksanaannya tidak terlepas dari dua dharma yang lain serta melibatkan segenap sivitas akademik: dosen, mahasiswa, tenaga kependidikan serta alumni. Kegiatan ini menjadi wadah bagi mahasiswa dalam mengimplementasikan segala hal yang telah dipelajari di Univesitas. Dikarenakan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini diadakan bertepatan di bulan Agustus 2022, kelompok pengabdian masyarakat kelas PMM-2 UIN SU mengadakan lomba dalam memperingati HUT RI, yang diadakan khusus untuk masyarakat Desa Emplasmen Kwala Mencirim guna menumbuhkan semangat kebangsaan masyarakat melalui acara perlombaan tersebut. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, program kegiatan 17 agustusan dengan tema menumbuhkan rasa semangat kebangsaan masyarakat didesa Emplasmen Kwala Mencirim melalui kegiatan lomba pada peringatan Agustus 2022 yang dilaksanakan oleh kelompok Pengabdian Masyarakat PMM-2 Universitas Islam Negeri Sumatera Utara berhasil membuat warga saling bekerjasama dalam artian tumbuhnya rasa semangat dalam melaksanakan kegiatan ulang tahun RI. Kami berharap kegiatan ini dapat mendorong warga desa untuk membangkitkan semangat mereka, semangat Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the ability to solve mathematical problems based on learning interests. The method used in this research was qualitative descriptive research. The research subjects were class X1 MIA 1 SMA Kartika 1-4 Pematang Siantar students. The selection of research subjects used a purposive sampling technique. The research instruments in this study were learning interest questionnaires, tests of mathematical problem solving abilities and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique used in this study was data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that subject student S30 with high learning interest can fulfill all indicators of mathematical problem solving abilities, including understanding problems, making solving plans, doing calculations, and re-checking the results obtained. Subject student S18 with moderate learning interest can fulfill the four indicators of problem solving ability, but the student is less able to plan problem solving, implement plans, and re-examine the results obtained. Subject student S2 with low learning interest can only meet the indicators of understanding the problem.

Abstract

Ethnomatematics can be used as a way to convey local culture and mathematics simultaneously, because ethnomatematics is a combination of culture and mathematics. The State Museum of North Sumatra is one of the historic buildings of North Sumatra which contains ethnomathematics concepts. This study aims to explore the ethnomathematics contained in the State Museum of North Sumatra. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with an ethnographic approach. The research subject was one of the officers of the State Museum of North Sumatra. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, documentation and literature studies. The results of the study prove that there are geometric shapes and geometric shapes in the North Sumatra State Museum building and several historical heritage objects in the North Sumatra State Museum. And there is the concept of geometric transformation in the ornaments of the North Sumatra State Museum.

Abstract

The ability to solve problems is one of the goals of mathematics education. The aim of this study was to describe the problem-solving skill of students in class VII-1 of MTsL 3 Tapanuli Selatan on the material of the Plane figure with ethnomathematical nuances of Sipirok woven fabrics patterns. This qualitative descriptive research involved 25 students of class VII-1 MTsN 3 Tapanuli Selatan as the subjects. Data collection techniques included problem-solving skills tests and interview papers. The results showed that the student's problem-solving skills based on the steps Polya, flat geometric material with ethnomathematical nuances for class VII-I, belonged to the low category with an average percentage of 55.4% and the step indicator more dominant of the polya was an indicator understanding the problem with 80% capture.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out how big students' mathematical proof abilities are. Recently, we can see that many students majoring in mathematics are experiencing difficulties in proving mathematics, whether solved directly or indirectly. This research uses a Systematic Literature Review taken from several journals published 2018-2023. The results of the research show that students' mathematical proof has not been achieved as a whole. Because some students do not know the basics of mathematical concepts, the proof steps cannot be completed correctly. However, some of the students who have high abilities can complete it correctly, it's just that the work is not done systematically.

Abstract

Numerasi adalah kemampuan siswa dalam menerapkan konsep matematika untuk menyelesaikan masalah sehari-hari, sesuai dengan Permendikbud No. 23 Tahun 2015. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan numerasi siswa MTs Zia Salsabila pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar berdasarkan teori Bruner, yang terdiri dari tiga tahap: enaktif, ikonik, dan simbolik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dan dilakukan pada siswa kelas VIII-A semester ganjil 2024/2025. Subjek penelitian dipilih berdasarkan hasil tes numerasi dengan kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes kemampuan numerasi dan wawancara untuk memahami pola berpikir siswa sesuai teori Bruner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa lebih dominan pada tahap ikonik dan simbolik, sementara tahap enaktif kurang berpengaruh. Dari 18 subjek yang diuji, hanya 4 siswa yang mencoba tahap enaktif, tetapi jawaban mereka tidak benar. ABSTRACT Numeracy is the ability of students to apply mathematical concepts to solve everyday problems, in accordance with Permendikbud No. 23 of 2015. This study aims to describe the numeracy skills of MTs Zia Salsabila students on flat-sided space building material based on Bruner's theory, which consists of three stages: enactive, iconic, and symbolic. This research uses qualitative methods and is conducted on students in class VIII-A odd semester 2024/2025. The research subjects were selected based on the numeracy test results with high, medium, and low categories. The research instruments included numeracy tests and interviews to understand students' thinking patterns according to Bruner's theory. The results showed that students were more dominant in the iconic and symbolic stages, while the enactive stage was less influential. Of the 18 subjects tested, only 4 students tried the enactive stage, but their answers were incorrect.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis antara peserta didik yang diajarkan dengan model Problem Based Learning dan Project Based Learning. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya pemahaman konsep matematis siswa akibat metode pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode kuasi eksperimen dan desain post-test only control group. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VIII MTs Yayasan Perguruan Amaliyah yang berjumlah 231 siswa. Sampel ditentukan secara cluster random sampling, yaitu kelas VIII-E (PBL) dan VIII-F (PjBL). Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kedua model pembelajaran, dengan nilai t-hitung = 2,720 > t-tabel = 2,001. Rata-rata nilai post-test siswa pada kelas PBL sebesar 71,129 lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas PjBL sebesar 65,966. Dengan demikian, model Problem Based Learning lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dibandingkan dengan Project Based Learning. ABSTRACT The background of this research is the low understanding of mathematical concepts of students due to conventional learning methods that do not involve students actively. This study used a quantitative approach with quasi-experimental method and post-test only control group design. The population in this study were all VIII grade students of MTs Yayasan Perguruan Amaliyah which amounted to 231 students. The sample was determined by cluster random sampling, namely class VIII-E (PBL) and VIII-F (PjBL). The results of the analysis showed a significant difference between the two learning models, with the value of tcount = 2.720 > ttable = 2.001. The average post-test score of students in the PBL class of 71.129 is higher than the PjBL class of 65.966. Thus, the Problem Based Learning model is more effective in improving students' mathematical concept understanding ability compared to Project Based Learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja peserta didik (LKPD) yang berorientasi pada kemampuan literasi matematis siswa kelas VIII pada materi sistem persamaan linear dua variabel di MTs Babul Ulum Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan model pengembangan Four-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII-3. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi lembar validasi, angket kepraktisan, dan tes kemampuan literasi matematis. Hasil validasi LKPD menunjukkan tingkat kevalidan sebesar 86,16% (kategori valid). Kepraktisan berdasarkan angket guru dan siswa masing-masing mencapai 94,7% dan 84,9% (kategori sangat praktis). Efektivitas LKPD dilihat dari hasil tes literasi matematis siswa yang mencapai rata-rata 87,5% (sangat efektif) dan angket respon siswa sebesar 81,68% (kategori sangat positif). Dengan demikian, LKPD yang dikembangkan dinyatakan layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar untuk meningkatkan literasi matematis siswa. ABSTRACT This study aims to develop student worksheets (LKPD) oriented to the mathematical literacy skills of VIII grade students on the material of two-variable linear equation systems at MTs Babul Ulum Medan. This research uses the Four-D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The research subjects were students of class VIII-3. The instruments used include validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and mathematical literacy tests. The LKPD validation results showed a validity level of 86.16% (valid category). Practicality based on teacher and student questionnaires reached 94.7% and 84.9% respectively (very practical category). The effectiveness of LKPD is seen from the results of students' mathematical literacy tests which reached an average of 87.5% (very effective) and student response questionnaires of 81.68% (very positive category). Thus, the developed LKPD is declared feasible to use as a learning resource to improve students' mathematical literacy.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter Islami sangat penting dalam membentuk generasi muda yang beriman, berakhlak mulia, dan berperilaku sesuai ajaran Islam. Namun, di Dusun III, Blok 20, Nagori Bah Sarimah, akses terhadap pendidikan agama masih terbatas. Anak-anak belum lancar membaca Al-Qur’an, belum memahami tata cara wudhu dan salat, serta minim pembinaan akhlak. Untuk menjawab tantangan ini, tim pengabdian masyarakat melaksanakan program “7 Hari 7 Ilmu” yang bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan ibadah dan karakter Islami anak-anak melalui pendekatan interaktif, menyenangkan, dan berbasis masyarakat. Selama delapan hari, anak-anak mengikuti kegiatan seperti praktik mengaji, hafalan surah pendek, latihan adzan, sholawat, bimbingan akhlak, serta perlombaan edukatif Lomba Cilik dan Sabda Jannah As-Saghirah sebagai sarana evaluasi. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan ibadah, pemahaman akhlak, kedisiplinan, serta kepercayaan diri anak dalam tampil di depan umum. Dukungan masyarakat dan testimoni orang tua memperkuat efektivitas program ini. Model ini diharapkan dapat berkelanjutan dan direplikasi di desa lain sebagai strategi membangun karakter Islami generasi muda di wilayah pedesaan.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to describe improving teacher skills in making Android-based learning media containing AKM questions. The method of the service program was carried out with pre-activity procedures, implementation of activities which included training and mentoring, and evaluation. The instrument for evaluating this activity used a questionnaire and was analyzed descriptively. This service's results showed that teachers could create Android-based learning media. The questionnaire results distributed to teachers as training participants were the Kodular application used to develop media that was easy to use and attractive in terms of appearance. The results of the questionnaire given to students after the trial were that students were interested in learning to use Android-based media because it was practical and easy to access at any time. In addition, through Android-based media, it was easy for students to answer AKM-type questions, so as many as 84% of students passed the AKM.
