Abstract

This article describes the effect of the ASI (Auditory Visual Self Improvement) model through YouTube digital visualization media to improve students’ poetry reading skills in elementary schools. This research is a classroom action research method, which consisted of two cycles. Each cycle consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The results of research in each cycle indicate an improvement. Classically, students were declared to have completed 100% of learning in cycle II, because all students in reading poetry achieved 80 or above. This learning completeness is above the KKM target of 80%. Based on these proportions, the criteria for qualitative data assessment are classified as "very good". It shows that ASI (Auditory Visual Self Improvement) learning model assisted by digital visualization media in general can be used as alternative learning to improve students’ poetry reading skills in elementary schools.

Abstract

Learning as a process towards changing knowledge, attitudes and behavior of students with the intermediary of teachers as education servants. The teacher's role in delivering learning materials is often constrained by several things, one of which is the ability of students to absorb material. This is because the teacher does not know the strengths and weaknesses of the students. For this reason, researchers conducted research to determine teachers' understanding of diagnostic assessments and how teachers use information regarding students' diagnostic assessment results in learning design to obtain optimal learning outcomes. This qualitative descriptive research was conducted using interview techniques with 5 teachers from different elementary schools. From the results of the study, it was found that the teacher's understanding of the diagnostic assessment was quite low, and the use of the results of the information from the implementation of the diagnostic assessment at the beginning of learning as the basis for preparing the learning design received less attention.

Abstract

Ethnomathematics is a realistic approach to learning mathematics that relates mathematical concepts to culture. By learning mathematics relevant to the student environment's culture, students will more easily understand mathematical concepts. This study aimed to examine theethnomathematical exploration of the Kebyok Anting-Anting dance floor pattern for learning the concept of geometry. This research is qualitative research using the ethnographic method. The instruments used are interviews, observation, and documentation. Data obtained through interviews and observations were analyzed using the analytical method described by Miles & Huberman, there are data reduction, data data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results showed that the ethnomathematical investigation in the Kebyok Anting-Anting dance floor patterns for learning the concept of geometry were horizontal lines, vertical lines, squares, rectangles, isosceles trapezoids, isosceles triangles, and parallelograms. It is hoped that various local cultures can be used to introduce other mathematical concepts.

Abstract

Implementing habituation to support the realization of good character in students is a must for institutions. In addition to being intelligent in knowledge, students are expected to have good character. The system of inculcating character values in a person is applied in daily actions or behavior through habituation, advice, teaching and guidance. Every child has good potential from birth, but this potential must continue to be honed and socialized properly so that the character of each child is formed and developed. The method used in this paper is a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach to describe the results of observations and literature studies. Based on the literature review and the results of these observations, it is found that the implementation of habituation in character planting is the right alternative, fast, and it is important to realize students who are smart and have superior character. Habituation takes various forms such as religious habituation, caring for the environment, manners, as well as in self-development.
