Abstract

The role of school supervisors during this pandemic is felt to be less than optimal in the supervision process, this is because there are several limitations or obstacles experienced by school supervisors. Some of the inhibiting factors come from factors within the supervisor (internal factors) and also factors from outside the supervisor (external factors). To overcome the problem regarding the inhibiting factors for school supervisors in carrying out their duties, there are several solutions including providing allowances for supervisors who work in schools that are far away and also building a conducive organizational environment so that teachers are able to be open with school supervisors. The purpose of this case study article is to analyze what factors cause the role of school supervisors to be not optimal in the process of implementing their supervision, by knowing what factors influence them, we can provide suggestions or solutions regarding the school supervisor's problems, especially during the pandemic. The research method used is literature study, namely research whose sources come from journals, scientific articles, literature reviews containing the concepts and discussions under study.

Abstract

Detecting abusive language on Twitter is an important step in reducing the prevalence of negative content and harassment. This study aims to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of abusive language detection on Twitter by addressing the limitations of the single model commonly used previously. The stacking method is employed by combining Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TF-IDF) as the feature extraction method, along with the Naive Bayes and XGBoost algorithms as classification models. Naive Bayes is known for its simplicity in handling text classification, while XGBoost excels in processing complex data and achieving high accuracy. The combination of these two models is expected to improve performance in detecting coarse language. The research results show that the proposed model outperforms the methods in previous studies, with an accuracy of 91.91% and an AUC of 96.76%. These findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the stacking approach in reducing classification errors in coarse language detection. Further research could explore the use of larger datasets or more complex models to improve detection accuracy.

Abstract

Stroke due to cerebral ischemia is one of the leading causes of disability worldwide. Animal models of cerebral ischemia that is often used is Global Cerebral Ischemia (GCI). In GCI, the hippocampus is the most susceptible to neuronal cell death. Complications that occur after ischemia are due to increased oxidative stress. Some compounds in purwoceng are reported to have antioxidant activity which oxidative stress have not been studied in the GCI model stroke. This study aims to examine the effect of purwoceng extract on a stroke model (GCI) as a neuroprotective agent in the prevention of stroke complications that have not been previously studied. 25 rats with a stroke model were given purwoceng root extract with 3 doses (20, 30, and 40mg/kg BW) orally for three days. The mice were then tested for memory with the Morriz Water Maze (MWM) test; then histopathological analysis of pyramidal cells in the hippocampus and the expression of SOD1 and SOD2 genes was analyzed using RT-PCR. The MWM test showed that the memory results at the dose of 20mg/kg BW were better than that of the GCI group (p=0.0384), and the PCR of SOD2 showed improvement at the dose of 20mg/kg BW (p=0.0171). No significant difference in histopathological analysis and SOD1 mRNA expression across group. The administration of purwoceng root extract at a dose of 20 mg/kg BW had the effect of improving memory and SOD2 expression in GCI model rats

Abstract

Abstract

Background: Anthrax remains a persistent zoonotic disease in Indonesia, with recurrent outbreaks reported in endemic provinces such as Yogyakarta, Gorontalo, Central Java, and East Nusa Tenggara. Outbreak control is further challenged by the circulation of misinformation, which shapes community perceptions and undermines prevention efforts. Digital epidemiology offers opportunities to complement conventional surveillance by capturing public information-seeking behavior, yet its application in anthrax research in Indonesia remains limited. Methods: This study analyzed temporal and spatial dynamics of public interest in anthrax using Google Trends data from January 2014 to December 2024. Two search terms, antraks (Indonesian) and anthrax (English), were examined to assess monthly patterns, regional distribution, and related search queries. Descriptive analyses were performed to identify peaks of interest, geographic differences, and themes of related and rising queries. Results: Overall search activity was low and stable throughout the 11 years, with distinct peaks corresponding to outbreaks, most notably in July 2023 during the Yogyakarta outbreak. Regional analysis revealed Yogyakarta and Gorontalo as the dominant provinces of search activity. Linguistic patterns showed that antraks was more widely used in western Indonesia, while anthrax was relatively more frequent in eastern provinces. Related queries reflected demand for basic knowledge of symptoms, transmission, and prevention, while rising queries aligned with outbreak-related events. Conclusion: Online search patterns mirror epidemiological risk, cultural context, and digital access. Infodemiology provides timely insights that may enhance outbreak preparedness and risk communication. Integrating digital surveillance with conventional monitoring can support more effective and locally relevant health education strategies for anthrax control in Indonesia.

Abstract

Idiomatic expressions are an important element in film dialogue because they convey figurative meaning, cultural values, and pragmatic functions. However, translating idioms into Indonesian subtitles often presents problems due to cultural differences and audiovisual technical constraints such as limited space and time. This study aims to analyze the types of idiomatic expressions found in the English film dialogue of the Kingsman trilogy and the translation strategies used in the Indonesian subtitles. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis. The data consist of idioms identified from the English dialogue and their translations in Indonesian subtitles. Idiom types are classified based on McCarthy and O’Dell’s typology, while translation strategies are analyzed using Baker’s framework. The findings show that semi-idioms are the most dominant type and that paraphrasing is the most frequently used translation strategy.
