Abstract

This study explores the impact of market risk, operational risk, liquidity risk, and solvency risk, while also investigating the moderating effect of credit growth on bank performance. The Error Correction Model-Eagle Granger (ECM-EG) methodology was applied to data from 2014 to 2023. Findings indicate that, in the short term, market and operational risks significantly impact bank performance. In the long term, only solvency risk does not significantly affect bank performance. Additionally, credit growth moderates the relationship between market and liquidity risks and bank performance in the short term, while in the long term, it only moderates the relationship between market risk and bank performance. Our empirical findings demonstrate that effective risk management enhances bank performance. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers, researchers, and academics in fostering a conducive environment for corporate activities.

Abstract

This study investigated the development of identity and promotional strategies for tourism in Kampung Gambut Siantan Hilir, aiming to enhance local tourism awareness among residents of Pontianak city. A significant challenge identified is the insufficient information and promotional efforts regarding local tourism, particularly among urban populations unaware of nearby attractions, such as “vegetable picking”, located just a few kilometers from the city center. The research employs sosial media and visual content as primary tools for disseminating information about Kampung Gambut’s attractions. Additionally, the creation of informative tour packages, visual booklets, and brochures seeks to broaden public understanding of various available tourism offerings. Methodological approaches include developing engaging content, strategically planning educational tour packages, and producing unique merchandise that reflects the village’s positive image. The involvement of local communities in promotional activities is emphasized to enhance engagement and participation. Findings indicate that targeted promotion through sosial media and visual content effectively highlights tourism potential, while merchandise plays a crucial role in positioning Kampung Gambut Siantan Hilir as an appealing educational tourism destination, ultimately fostering increased community visit and participation.

Abstract

Vitamin D plays a key role in mineral metabolism, and its dysregulation contributes to vascular calcification, a major complication of chronic kidney disease–mineral and bone disorder (CKD–MBD) in patients undergoing hemodialysis with CKD. The CYP24A1 gene encodes 24-hydroxylase, the enzyme responsible for degrading active vitamin D metabolites and its polymorphisms, particularly rs2762939, have been linked to variability in vitamin D status and coronary artery calcification. The aim of this study was to assess the association between the rs2762939 polymorphism of CYP24A1 and vascular calcification in Indonesian patients with CKD undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. A case–control study was conducted in 92 hemodialysis patients, including 46 with vascular calcification and 46 without. Genotyping of the rs2762939 polymorphism was carried out using PCR–RFLP, and the amplified products were separated by electrophoresis on 4% agarose gel. The frequency of vascular calcification was found to be significantly higher in patients with diabetes mellitus than in the control group (19 (82.6%) vs 4 (17.4%)), whereas in non-diabetic patients the frequency of vascular calcification was lower compared with controls (27 (39.1%) vs 42 (60.9%)). A statistically significant association between CKD etiology and vascular calcification was observed (p=0.001). The prevalence of vascular calcification was lower among carriers of the mutant C allele (45%) compared with the G allele (51.4%), although this difference was not statistically significant (OR=0.77; 95%CI: 0.38–1.56; p=0.592). The rs2762939 polymorphism of the CYP24A1 gene was not significantly associated with vascular calcification in Indonesian patients with CKD undergoing maintenance hemodialysis. Further studies with larger, ethnically diverse cohorts and integration of vitamin D status are needed to clarify the genetic contribution of CYP24A1 and related pathways to vascular calcification.

Abstract

Income from investments is an issue of great interest for investors; consequently, there are a great number of individuals who are interested in investing, and it is critical to investigate factors that can influence investment decision-making to maximize profits. The investment decision-making process determines how steadfast, focused, and persistent a person is in achieving their goals. It encourages individuals to communicate their decisions by presenting various information through social media, thus influencing investor psychology in making diverse analytical decisions. This research analyses investment decisions influenced by demographic potential and psychological factors such as Social Influence, Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), Herding Behavior, and Overconfidence in investment decision-making to individuals or groups. Population data was collected in the research using a sampling method using a non-probability sampling approach to several individuals based on investment experience and a tendency to use social media related to investment through an online survey involving 200 respondents scattered across Indonesia, analysis of the research data using SPSS software. The study reveals that psychological factors, specifically Social Influence, Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), Herding Behavior, and Overconfidence, have a significantly and positively impact on investment decision-making. These findings underscore the crucial role of psychological aspects in investment decisions, providing a deeper understanding of investor behavior in an investment environment increasingly digitized by social media.

Abstract

LQ45 is a stock index company listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange with high liquidity which is selected based on certain criteria or choices. Companies that are included in the criteria include having financial condition, transaction value and a high growth rate. These criteria can be seen through the company's dividend policy. Factors that influence dividend policy are profitability, business risk, corporate governance, apart from that, the existence of growth opportunities can provide opportunities for companies to grow and develop in the future. This research will examine how much influence profitability, business risk, corporate governance have on dividend policy, with growth opportunity as a moderating variable. The financial data for this study came from a number of financial reports that are filed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI). The LQ45 firm index category, which is listed on the BEI for the 2018–2022 period, serves as the population of interest for this study, and the sample size is limited to 20 companies. Descriptive statistical analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, simultaneous test (F), partial test (T), and the classical assumption test are the data analysis methods employed in this study. Based on moderator regression analysis (MRA), a method of data processing. It is proven that profitability influences dividend policy with positive and significant results, while business risk and corporate governance do not have a significant influence on dividend policy. Profitability, business risk, corporate governance, after being moderated by growth opportunity, do not have a significant effect on dividend policy.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research aims to analyze psychological biases that occur when investors make risky investment decisions. There are five behavioral factors analyzed (herding, overconfidence, disposition effect, conservatism, and availability). Financial literacy is used as moderator in analyzing the effect of those bahaviors towards risky investment decisions. This research examines four econometric equations in explaining financial literacy as a moderator. Interaction effect testing is carried out using moderating variable regression. The results show that psychological biases occur in making risky investment decisions. Herding behavior, overconfidence, disposition effect, and conservatism show a positive effect, while availability does not show a significant effect. Testing on the interaction model finds that financial literacy is able to reduce these psychological biases. This finding also explains the managerial implications that investors with high levels of financial literacy have the potential to experience relatively low psychological biases compared to investors with limited levels of financial literacy. In terms of limitations, this research uses a questionnaire survey that has not been able to reveal aspects of investor behavior in a comprehensive manner. In addition, the number of respondents who are more dominated by beginner investors also adds to the limitations in carrying out the generalization.

Abstract

The firm value represents investors' expectations of management's success in managing the firm, thereby enhancing the prosperity of investors. Firm value is crucial as it can shape perspectives and influence investor decision-making when investing in a firm. This research questions the effect of capital structure, profitability, and firm size on firm value in firms listed on the HIDIV20 index. This research also tests the dividend policy variable as a moderator. The research population includes firms listed on the HIDIV20 index of Bursa Efek Indonesia during 2018-2022. The sampling process is conducted through purposive sampling. Data analysis uses Moderate Regression Analysis (MRA) with panel data. The outcomes of the research reveal that capital structure and profitability have a positive impact on firm value, whereas firm size has a negative impact on firm value. Furthermore, dividend policy can moderate and strengthen the aftermath of profitability on firm value. This interaction effect is not observed in the outcome of capital structure and firm size on firm value.

Abstract

Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises are industries that play a major role in the Indonesian economy, are the largest absorbers of labour and have a significant contribution to the GDP. However, MSME's key role in GDP does not exclude the possibility of bankruptcy. This research analysed four factors influencing financial behaviour: financial literacy, age, educational level, financial planning, and the ability to manage finance as a moderation variable. Financial behaviour is an essential thing that can be done to advance an ongoing business and to organise, process, and plan the finances of an enterprise. This study will examine the impact of financial literacy, educational level, age, and financial planning on MSME's financial behaviour in Indonesia. Using SPSS, the study tested the relationship between independent and dependent variables with moderation variables to support the developed hypothesis. The data collection method uses a questionnaire with a total of 294 respondents. Financial literacy, education, and financial planning had a positive impact, while age had a negative impact.
