Abstract

This study aims to explore how the implementation of the right accounting system can improve the accuracy of financial reports at PT. Wirakarya Sakti. The research method used is a qualitative approach with an exploratory purpose, which focuses on understanding the context and dynamics that exist in the company and the perceptions of related parties in the accounting process. The main data sources come from in-depth interviews with financial managers, accountants, and accounting staff, as well as analysis of company documents such as financial reports, accounting policies, and systems implemented. Participatory observation was also conducted to identify potential problems in ongoing accounting practices. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of a software-based accounting system at PT. Wirakarya Sakti has succeeded in improving the accuracy of financial reports by reducing human error, accelerating the process of data verification and reconciliation, and producing more timely and reliable reports. This system helps in managing transactions in a more structured and efficient manner, and minimizing discrepancies between documents. Thus, this study provides recommendations to continue optimizing the implementation of a technology-based accounting system to support more accurate and efficient financial report management.

Abstract

This quantitative research aims to analyse the effect of corporate governance and risk management on banking performance in Indonesia. There are six predictors used to explain banking financial performance (GCG, NPL, NIM, LDR, BOPO and CAR). Sample selection resulted in 240 issuers during 2016-2023 with a total of 30 observations. Data analysis uses panel data regression by first selecting a research model. This research also controls two variables (SIZE and AGE) that are thought to affect the financial performance of banks. The results show that this model shows that the two main variables that significantly affect ROA are NIM and BOPO. NIM has a positive effect, indicating that an increase in net interest income will increase bank profitability. In contrast, BOPO has a negative effect, indicating that operational efficiency is very important in improving the financial performance of banks. Meanwhile, other variables such as GCG, NPL, LDR, and CAR do not show a significant effect, although CAR is close to the significance level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Regional Original Revenue (PAD), General Allocation Fund (DAU), and Revenue Sharing Fund (DBH) on regional expenditure in districts and cities in Central Java Province in the period 2018-2022. Panel data was analyzed using descriptive statistical methods, Chow test, Hausman test, and panel data regression. The results showed that PAD, DAU and DBH had a positive and significant influence on regional expenditure. This finding indicates that regional fiscal independence and general allocations from the central government play an important role in determining the amount of regional expenditure. This study also highlights the importance of optimal PAD management as the main source of revenue to reduce dependence on transfer funds. The implication of this study is the need for local governments to improve efficiency in financial management and optimize the potential of PAD through appropriate policies. This research is expected to provide an in-depth understanding of how PAD, DAU, and DBH affect regional expenditure allocations, as well as provide policy recommendations for more efficient and effective regional financial management. This research is expected to contribute to increasing fiscal independence and accelerating sustainable development in Central Java Province.

Abstract

The significant growth in the number of retail investors in Indonesia's capital market in recent years indicates increased public participation in investment activities. However, the reality on the ground shows that retail investors still face barriers in understanding and accessing relevant financial information. Financial reports prepared with technical terms and complex formats tend to only be optimally utilized by institutional investors, resulting in information gaps that have an impact on inequality in investment decision making. This study aims to analyze the needs and challenges of retail investors in understanding financial information and explore the urgency of implementing inclusive accounting as a solution. The research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, involving in-depth interviews with a number of active retail investors in the capital market. The research shows that retail investors have difficulty in understanding financial terminology such as EBITDA, liabilities and operating cash flows. In addition, access to official, real-time financial information is limited, with most informants relying on social media or securities apps as their main source of information. The informants expressed a preference for visual, summarized and narrative presentation of information that is easier to understand. The conclusion of this study suggests that inclusive accounting can be a strategic approach to bridge the financial literacy gap between market participants. It is expected that the implementation of inclusive accounting by companies and the support of regulators can improve information disclosure, expand access, and strengthen retail investor participation in the Indonesian capital market

Abstract

This research was made to examine the determinants of financial performance of banking companies in Indonesia. There are four independent variables (board of diversity, net interest margin, operational efficiency, and liquidity risk) and a moderating variable (firm size) have been analyzed in this research. Testing the interaction effect of firm size in explaining the influence of these four independent variables on banking financial performance is still very limited. This quantitative research was analyzed by using secondary data from audited annual reports of the company. The purposive sampling technique was used to choose the research’s samples during the observation periods (2018-2022) and obtained 200 observations (40 samples over 5 years of research). Panel data regression with the EViews program was used to test the eight hypotheses which was developed in this research. The results of the Chow test and Hausman test confirm the use of the Random Effect Model in the analysis. The findings from testing the interaction model show that firm size does not moderate the influence of board of diversity and net interest margin on financial performance, while for operational efficiency and liquidity risk variables, the firm size shows a pure moderating role for the both.

Abstract
