Abstract

The Pandawa Lima, as an integral part of Javanese wayang (shadow puppetry), has undergone significant acculturation with the advent of Islamic influence in Java. This phenomenon reflects complex cultural dynamics worthy of deeper study. This research aims to analyze the philosophical meaning of the Pandawa Lima in the context of Javanese-Islamic cultural acculturation and examine its relevance in contemporary society. This study employs a qualitative approach with cultural hermeneutics analysis, supported by John W. Berry's acculturation theory, Clifford Geertz's hermeneutics, Yuri Lotman's cultural semiotics, and Homi Bhabha's concept of hybridity. The analysis shows that the Pandawa Lima serves as a dynamic sign system in Javanese-Islamic culture, creating a unique third space where Javanese and Islamic values are harmoniously integrated. The Pandawa Lima characters represent a synthesis of values relevant to contemporary issues such as ethical leadership, conflict resolution, and social harmony. This acculturation process also offers a model for broader intercultural dialogue, demonstrating how different traditions can synergize without losing their essence.

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah pentingnya penerapan Pembelajaran Berbasis Masalah (PBL) dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan penerapan nilai-nilai Akidah Akhlak di kalangan siswa. Akidah Akhlak merupakan mata pelajaran yang membutuhkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mampu menghubungkan teori dengan praktik kehidupan sehari-hari. Namun, terdapat kendala dalam penerapan PBL di MTsN 4 Sragen, khususnya terkait kesiapan siswa dan efektivitas metode ini dalam menyampaikan materi Akidah Akhlak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas PBL dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan penerapan nilai-nilai Akidah Akhlak pada siswa kelas IX MTsN 4 Sragen, serta mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam pelaksanaannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus, di mana data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan guru dan survei terhadap 248 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas siswa (86,3%) merasa paham terhadap materi Akidah Akhlak yang diajarkan menggunakan PBL, sementara 13,7% siswa mengalami kesulitan. Faktor pendukung keberhasilan PBL meliputi keterlibatan aktif siswa dan penggunaan studi kasus yang relevan, sementara hambatan utamanya adalah kesiapan siswa yang bervariasi serta keterbatasan sumber daya belajar. Selain itu, frekuensi penerapan PBL juga berpengaruh, di mana 79,8% siswa melaporkan PBL digunakan secara rutin.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of administrative management at MTs Negeri 4 Sragen, with a focus on human resources management, financial management, curriculum management, facilities and infrastructure, as well as extracurricular programs. Document analysis is used to collect data from documents related to administrative management at MTs Negeri 4 Sragen. The research subjects are the headmaster, teachers, and administrative staff involved in the implementation process. The data sources used are documents related to administrative management, such as handbooks, financial reports, and school policies. Data collection techniques include document analysis and interviews. Descriptive analysis is employed to analyze the data. The results show that the implementation of administrative management at MTs Negeri 4 Sragen is carried out in a structured and systematic manner. The quality of human resources, government policies, and organizational culture influence the success of administrative management implementation. Training and socialization, facilities provision, and the use of information technology are efforts made to overcome obstacles in the implementation process. Monitoring and evaluation are conducted periodically to assess the success of administrative management implementation and identify improvements needed in the future. In conclusion, the implementation of administrative management at MTs Negeri 4 Sragen has been successfully carried out well-structured, with efforts to overcome challenges that arise during the implementation process.

Abstract

A brand image is a collection of consumer assumptions about a brand that are formed from various sources. A positive organizational image is a valuable asset because it influences stakeholder perceptions of organizational communications and activities in a variety of ways. The brand image of an educational institution is an important step in achieving the institution's maximum public reputation. An educational institution's overall image is made up of all of its components. The goal of this research was to discover the methods or steps taken by the Islamic Center bin Baz Islamic boarding school in Yogyakarta in developing a branding image in order to increase competitiveness and avoid falling behind other educational institutions. The approach used in this study is qualitative. According to the study's findings, the Bin Baz Islamic Center Islamic Boarding School's Brand Building Strategy involves the following stages: Analyzing the reasons for choosing a brand, Developing branding programs, developing branding activities in accordance with the program, forming a branding team, determining the media used for branding, increasing the role of public relations in branding, and analyzing parents' satisfaction with the results.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pembelajaran Al-Quran Hadis pada siswa kelas VIII di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 6 Sragen, dengan fokus pada aspek metode pembelajaran, pencapaian tujuan pembelajaran, dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian meliputi kepala madrasah, guru Al-Quran Hadis, dan siswa kelas VIII. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran Al-Quran Hadis telah berjalan efektif dengan implementasi variasi metode pembelajaran seperti talaqqi, drill, dan diskusi. Faktor pendukung meliputi kompetensi guru, program pendukung seperti tutorial sebaya dan ekstrakurikuler tahfidz, serta sistem evaluasi berkelanjutan. Kendala yang dihadapi mencakup heterogenitas kemampuan dasar siswa, keterbatasan waktu pembelajaran, dan variasi dukungan lingkungan keluarga. Solusi yang diterapkan meliputi program bimbingan intensif, pembelajaran tambahan melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler, dan program parenting untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan orang tua dalam pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran dan pengaruh Madrasah Mamba'ul 'Ulum dalam perkembangan pendidikan Islam di Surakarta selama masa kolonial Belanda, di mana madrasah ini muncul sebagai simbol perlawanan terhadap dominasi pendidikan kolonial. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah adanya kesenjangan pendidikan yang disebabkan oleh kebijakan diskriminatif pemerintah kolonial, yang lebih mendukung sekolah-sekolah Barat daripada lembaga pendidikan pribumi. Madrasah Mamba'ul 'Ulum, sebagai salah satu madrasah tertua di Surakarta, tidak hanya berupaya mempertahankan identitas keislaman, tetapi juga menegaskan keberadaannya sebagai pusat perlawanan intelektual terhadap upaya penghapusan pendidikan Islam oleh kolonialisme. Melalui metode penelusuran pustaka (library research) yang mengumpulkan data dari berbagai sumber primer dan sekunder, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa madrasah ini berperan penting dalam mempertahankan dan mengembangkan pendidikan Islam. Lulusan madrasah ini berkontribusi signifikan dalam memperluas jaringan pendidikan Islam dan memperkuat komunitas Muslim di Surakarta. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa Madrasah Mamba'ul 'Ulum tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai lembaga pendidikan, tetapi juga sebagai simbol ketahanan dan perlawanan pendidikan Islam di masa kolonial.

Abstract

Traditional classroom settings often limit student engagement in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh) education, potentially affecting learning outcomes. Outdoor learning presents an alternative approach that may enhance student achievement through experiential learning. This study aims to determine the influence of outdoor learning methods on student achievement in Fiqh subject at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Muhammadiyah 06 Sambi. This research employed an experimental design with 15 seventh-grade students as the experimental group receiving outdoor learning intervention and 10 seventh-grade students as the control group with conventional learning. Student achievement was measured using questionnaires administered in pre-cycle, first cycle, and second cycle phases. The findings revealed significant improvements in student achievement. Pre-cycle assessment showed 51.5% achievement, which increased to 68.9% in the first cycle, representing a 17.04% improvement. Implementation of the second cycle resulted in 85.04% achievement, demonstrating an additional 16.50% improvement from the first cycle. The substantial incremental gains confirm the positive influence of outdoor learning methods on enhancing student achievement in Fiqh subjects. This research highlights the importance of experiential and contextual learning approaches in Islamic education settings. Educators should consider incorporating outdoor learning strategies into Fiqh curriculum to improve student engagement and academic performance in Islamic jurisprudence education.Setting kelas tradisional sering membatasi keterlibatan siswa dalam pendidikan hukum Islam (Fiqih), yang berpotensi mempengaruhi hasil belajar. Pembelajaran luar ruangan (outdoor learning) menyajikan pendekatan alternatif yang dapat meningkatkan prestasi siswa melalui pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pengaruh metode outdoor learning terhadap prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Fiqih di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Muhammadiyah 06 Sambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimental dengan 15 siswa kelas VII sebagai kelompok eksperimen yang menerima intervensi pembelajaran luar ruangan dan 10 siswa kelas VII sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan pembelajaran konvensional. Prestasi belajar siswa diukur menggunakan angket yang diadministrasikan dalam tahap prasiklus, siklus pertama, dan siklus kedua. Temuan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam prestasi belajar siswa. Penilaian prasiklus menunjukkan prestasi 51,5%, yang meningkat menjadi 68,9% pada siklus pertama, menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 17,04%. Implementasi siklus kedua menghasilkan prestasi 85,04%, mendemonstrasikan peningkatan tambahan sebesar 16,50% dari siklus pertama. Peningkatan bertahap yang substansial ini mengkonfirmasi pengaruh positif metode outdoor learning terhadap peningkatan prestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Fiqih. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pendekatan pembelajaran eksperiensial dan kontekstual dalam lingkungan pendidikan Islam. Pendidik sebaiknya mempertimbangkan untuk mengintegrasikan strategi pembelajaran luar ruangan ke dalam kurikulum Fiqih untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan kinerja akademik dalam pendidikan hukum Islam.

Abstract

The fundamental reason for this research is the need to enhance students’ understanding of the subject matter while preserving and strengthening local cultural identity amidst globalization. This study aims to analyze the implementation and impact of using the Javanese language in Social Studies (IPS) instruction at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Bulak, Gondangrejo District, Karanganyar Regency. The research method used is qualitative, with a case study approach involving classroom observations, in-depth interviews with teachers and the headmaster, and document analysis. The research results show that the use of the Javanese language in social studies instruction varies at each grade level and is adapted to the student’s cognitive levels. This approach has proven effective in enhancing students’ understanding of Social Studies material, especially concepts related to the local socio-cultural context. The use of the Javanese language also plays a crucial role in language preservation and strengthening students’ cultural identity. Despite challenges in its implementation, such as balancing with the Indonesian language, this strategy overall creates holistic learning, improves academic understanding, and strengthens students’ social skills. These findings have significant implications for the development of curricula and learning strategies that are responsive to the local cultural context.

Abstract

Publishing scientific articles in reputable international journals such as Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) poses significant challenges for academics and practitioners in Indonesia. Many of them encounter obstacles in understanding writing standards, selecting appropriate journals, and navigating the peer review process. These limitations have resulted in low acceptance rates for articles in prestigious journals. Therefore, strategic efforts through Community Service Programs (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat or PKM) are necessary to enhance the capacity of academics in writing and publishing scientific articles. The PKM activity aimed to improve the understanding and readiness of academics and practitioners for publication in reputable journals through a scientific article writing workshop. The methodology employed a participatory approach using interactive workshop formats, which included material presentations, writing practice sessions, and direct mentoring. A total of 25 participants engaged in the full-day event. Workshop results demonstrated that most participants experienced a significant increase in understanding regarding scientific article writing structure, strategies for journal selection, and article submission processes. Additionally, participants gained increased confidence in addressing review and revision procedures. The implications of this activity highlight the need for continuous support to ensure academics can effectively apply the knowledge acquired in scientific publications. The recommendation from this Community Service Program is to develop more comprehensive programs with longer durations and more intensive guidance. By doing so, academics and practitioners can continuously improve the quality of their scientific publications, ultimately enhancing academic competitiveness at the global level. Abstract

This study explores the concepts of love and empathy in Islamic education through hadith perspectives, focusing on understanding their profound role in supporting learning processes and interpersonal relationships. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research analyzes hadiths containing messages of love and empathy to identify and categorize key insights. The findings underscore the critical importance of love and empathy as essential elements in educational practice, particularly within Islamic educational frameworks that prioritize noble character development. These values contribute to creating supportive and conducive learning environments where students feel genuinely valued and understood. By fostering mutual respect, enhancing learning effectiveness, and strengthening social connections, love and empathy emerge as transformative principles that fundamentally shape students' character and personal growth. The research ultimately argues that integrating these compassionate values into Islamic education is not merely a pedagogical strategy but a fundamental approach to nurturing holistic, emotionally intelligent, and morally grounded individuals.
