Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the implementation of the jigsaw cooperative learning model on the Indonesian language learning achievement of fourth-grade students at UPT SDN 2 Turatea, Jeneponto Regency. This study is a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The subjects were all 20 fourth-grade students, with a total sampling technique. Data collection techniques were carried out through written tests, observations, and documentation. The instruments used were learning outcome tests and student activity observation sheets. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics through normality tests, homogeneity tests, and paired sample t-tests. The results showed that the average pretest score of 54.65 was in the low and incomplete category, while the average posttest score increased to 85.75 in the high and complete category. The results of the hypothesis test showed a significance value of <0.05 so that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that the application of the jigsaw type cooperative learning model has a significant effect on the Indonesian language learning achievement of fourth grade students at UPT SDN 2 Turatea, Jeneponto Regency.

Abstract

Community service is one of the pillars of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which not only aims to improve the quality of education and research, but also makes a real contribution to the welfare of the community. This research aims to examine the role of community service in the context of community empowerment through various programs implemented by universities. This service includes providing training, guidance, and solutions to social, economic, and educational problems in the community. The results of the study show that community service integrated with academic activities can have a sustainable positive impact on the community and enrich the student experience.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using picture media on the ability to construct Indonesian sentences in third-grade students of SD Inpres Palompong, Bajeng Subdistrict, Gowa Regency, in order to improve students' sentence construction skills. The method used in this study is an experimental design with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest approach. The population in this study consisted of 23 third-grade students of SD Inpres Palompong. Data were collected through pretests and posttests to measure sentence construction ability before and after the treatment using picture media.Based on the results of the study, it was shown that there was a significant effect of picture media, as evidenced by the difference between the average pretest and posttest scores. The average pretest score was 51.52, while the average posttest score increased to 86.61. This study indicates that the use of picture media is effective in improving the sentence construction skills of third-grade students at SD Inpres. It is hoped that this research will contribute positively to the development of teaching methods in elementary schools, particularly in the subject of Indonesian Language.

Abstract

Masalah utama dalam penelitian ini yaitu analisis kesulitan siswa dalam menulis paragraf deskripsi dalam mata pelajaran bahasa indonsia kelas IV SD Negeri No. 15 Jawi-Jawi Kabupaten Maros. tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana analisis kesulitan siswa dalam menulis paragraf deskripsi dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia kelas IV SD Negeri No.15 Jawi-Jawi Kabupaten Maros. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskripsi dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan lembar observasi dan wawancara. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Negeri No. 15 Jawi-Jawi Kabupaten Maros dan sampel penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas IV SD Negeri No. 15 Jawi-Jawi Kabupaten Maros yang berjumlah 26 siswa. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh diketahui kemampuan peserta didik kelas IV dalam menulis paragraf deksripsi masih rendah dengan presentase 35%. Kesulitan peserta didik dalam menulis paragraf deskripsi pada mata pelajaran bahasa indonesias kela IV SD Negeri No. 15 Jawi-Jawi Kabupaten Maros meliputi beberapa aspek yaitu peserta didik kesulitan dalam penggunaan kosa kata yang tepat dan kesulitan dalam menemukan ide pokok.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Amin Pa’batangan yang disebabkan oleh kurangnya variasi media pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menarik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan media interaktif Wordwal dalam pembelajaran mengetahui hasil belajar siswa sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media tersebut, serta menganalisis pengaruh penggunaannya terhadap hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pra-eksperimen dengan desain One Group Pre-Test Post-Test. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas V yang berjumlah 15 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi tes hasil belajar, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial menggunakan uji independent sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan Wordwall berjalan dengan baik dan meningkat pada setiap pertemuan. Nilai rata-rata pre-test adalah 68,67 dan meningkat menjadi 87,93 pada post-test. Seluruh siswa memperoleh kategori tuntas setelah perlakuan. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukkan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Dengan demikian, media interaktif Wordwall berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar Bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Amin Pa’batangan.

Abstract

Writing is an important basic skill for students in the learning process. Many fifth-grade students of SD Inpres Mallengkeri Bertingkat Makassar experience difficulties in developing ideas and expressing them in a coherent and coherent sequence of written events. In addition, the narrative essays produced by students tend to be short and lack detail so that the story becomes less interesting. The purpose of this study was to analyze the narrative essay writing skills of fifth-grade students. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative, with 29 students as research subjects. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was obtained from triangulation of techniques and sources, while data analysis was obtained using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results of the study indicate that students' narrative essay writing skills are still in the sufficient and insufficient category and need to be improved through writing habits, strengthening reading literacy, and the application of more varied and contextual learning methods.

Abstract

The main problem in this study is the low ability of students in writing stories, which occurs because the implementation in the learning process still tends to use a conventional approach. Teachers mostly apply the lecture method, making learning seem more monotonous. As a result, students' writing skills are not well honed. Teachers often only give writing assignments with little explanation about the rules of good and correct writing, so that students' creativity and imagination are limited. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of animated films on the story writing skills of fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darul Istiqamah Puce'e, Sinjai Regency. The type of research used in this study is a pre-experimental design, which is a type of research that only involves one experimental class without a comparison group. The research design is a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The pretest is given before the treatment, and the posttest is given after the treatment. The sample in this study consists of fifth-grade students, comprising 1 male student and 10 female students. Data collection techniques were conducted using tests and observations. The data analysis technique in this study is descriptive and inferential statistical data analysis (t-test). Descriptive statistics show that the average score for story writing skills before the use of animated films was 60.81. Meanwhile, the average score for story writing skills after the use of animated films was 92.90. This shows that there was a difference in students' story writing skills before and after the use of animated films in learning. The t-test analysis results show that the t-count = 12.01 and t-table = 2.228, so t-count = 12.01 > t-table 2.228, which means H1 is rejected and H1 is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that animated film media is effective in improving the story writing skills of fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Darul Istiqamah Puce'e, Sinjai Regency.

Abstract

This study investigates the use of silence as a politeness strategy in the speech act of refusal among native Buginese speakers. While often regarded merely as the absence of speech, silence in the Buginese context serves significant pragmatic functions. The research aims to identify the various forms of silence, its role as a politeness strategy, the influence of the cultural value of Siri’, and the social contexts that shape its use. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews with Buginese participants. The findings reveal that silence in Buginese refusals is multimodal, expressed through nonverbal cues such as lowered gaze, faint smiling, and delayed verbal responses. Functionally, silence acts as a face-saving strategy that helps to mitigate conflict and preserve interpersonal harmony. The study further highlights that this practice is deeply intertwined with the cultural value of Siri’ (dignity/shame), that speakers choose silence to avoid causing embarrassment to the interlocutor. This strategy is most commonly employed in hierarchical settings, especially when engaging with elders or respected figures. The study concludes that silence is a purposeful communicative competence that reflects the local wisdom and social ethics of Buginese society

Abstract

Teaching English to hearing-impaired students poses a pedagogical challenge for teachers due to the dominant auditory learning orientation. Thus, this research aims to study the challenges faced by teacher when teaching English to hearing-impaired students at SLB Negeri 1 Makassar, and the strategies used to address these issues from the perspective of inclusive education. The objective of this research is achieved through the application of a qualitative approach designed as a case study. A teacher was selected purposively as the research subject, and her teaching data was collected thru classroom observations, interviews, and documentation. The research findings identified five challenges faced by the teacher, namely communication, student differences in ability, a lack of learning resources, student distractions, and the students' limited vocabulary. To address these issues, teacher used adaptive approaches, that is visual teaching materials, in-person instruction, sign language, mobile-phones as learning aids, and intensive material repetition. These strategies are examples of inclusive pedagogical practices that emphasize adaptation, responsiveness, and flexibility in learning for hearing-impaired students. This research concludes that the pedagogical skills and teaching adaptations of teachers are important components that enable deaf students to learn English effectively in the classroom.

Abstract

This research is important because the type of language forensic research is still very minimal. The next reason is more on the interest and interest of researchers in understanding language forensics. Research aims; (1) conduct a forensic linguistic study through the application of statement analysis on the Conversation of the Murder Case Trial at the Makassar District Court; and (2) find out what are the contributions of applied forensic linguistics statement analysis on the Conversation of the Murder Case Trial at the Makassar District Court. This research is study descriptive Qualitative research with forensic linguistics approach applies statement analysis to the Conversation of the Murder Case Session at the Makassar District Court. The data of this research is the conversation of the murder case trial at the Makassar District Court and the source of the data is the recorded conversation of the murder case trial at the Makassar District Court. Data collection techniques are; recording technique, listening technique, and note-taking technique. Analysis qualitative data is inductive, namely an analysis based on the data obtained. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that; (1)analysis results in application statement analysis In the conversational language forensics of the murder case trial at the Makassar District Court, seven patterns of statement analysis criteria were found, namely; (a) the use of terms of action phrases; (b) the use of special meaning phrases; (c) perception builder; (d) verb euphemisms; (e) use of pronouns; (f) excessive “I”; and (g) time span patterns; and (2) the results of the application analysis statement analysis In forensics the conversational language of the murder case trial at the Makassar District Court can make an important contribution in the form of forensic results that can be a means of confirming factual information and can be used as a tool to legitimize criminal events. These two forms of contribution can be academic proposals for judges to enforce the law fairly and wisely.
