Abstract

The purpose of this service activity is to improve teacher skills in developing HOTS-oriented learning model designs based on the Learning Management System (LMS) for elementary school teachers in Surakarta City. Participants in the community service activity totaled 30 teachers consisting of 10 class teachers of SD ICT Al-Abidin, 10 class teachers of SD Ta'mirul Islam Surakarta, and 10 class teachers of SD Muhammadiyah 1 Ketelan Surakarta. The method of implementing this service uses training and mentoring. The instrument for evaluating the improvement uses a test and is analyzed descriptively. The results of this service activity show that there is an increase in teacher skills after participating in the training activity. Teacher skills increase in the experience aspect in designing HOTS-oriented learning models, teacher experience in designing activities to develop HOTS, and in processing features contained in the Learning Management System. Based on the results of limited trials, the HOTS-oriented learning model design in the Learning Management System achieves an average student passing scores of 83%.

Abstract

Curriculum alterations have become a common occurrence, coincident with advances in technology and informational resources. This is designed to maintain alignment with the current educational landscape and to ensure relevance to contemporary times. Research is a scientific process that is formal and intensive. This is because it refers to established rules, cycles, and ways of representation that are necessary to obtain results that are recognized and beneficial to human life. The methodology employed in this research study was a systematic review of the literature. This approach was utilized to describe and elucidate the fundamental tenets of qualitative, quantitative research, as well as research and development initiatives associated with the implementation of the 2013 Curriculum. This result of the study is the concepts of qualitative, quantitative, and research & development research—along with their respective characteristics, types, and applications—offer significant benefits in the realm of education, particularly in the context of curriculum development. These research methodologies, which are commonly utilized in educational settings, align with the 2013 curriculum guidelines, facilitating studies or research related to education, thereby enabling more effective and impactful outcomes.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of educational technology and teacher competence in enhancing teaching effectiveness within the Islamic religious education curriculum at Madrasah Aliyah in Indonesia. Utilizing a quantitative analysis approach, data were collected from a sample of 180 respondents using a Likert scale ranging from 1 to 5. The data were analyzed with Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS 3). The findings reveal that the relationships between educational technology and teaching effectiveness (H1), teacher competence and teaching effectiveness (H2), as well as teaching effectiveness and the Islamic education curriculum (H3), are all positive and significant. These results underscore the critical role of both educational technology and teacher competence in improving teaching effectiveness, which in turn positively impacts the Islamic education curriculum. This study provides valuable insights for policymakers and educators aiming to enhance the quality of Islamic religious education through the strategic application of educational technology and the development of teacher competencies.

Abstract

Self-directedness is a crucial skill for prospective science teachers, and the Think-Pair-Project-Share (TP2S) model has shown promise in fostering collaboration and critical thinking. This aim study to investigates the effectiveness of TP2S in promoting self-directed learning among these future educators. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of the think-pair-project-share (TP2S) learning model in facilitating the self-directedness of prospective science teachers. This quantitative research uses a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were second semester students, while the research sample consisted of 72 students. The self-directedness data collection technique uses an instrument in the form of a scale. Based on the results of the paired sample T test, it can be seen that both experimental classes obtained a Sig value. (2-tailed) 0.000. It can be concluded that the paired sample T test value in the experimental class is 0.000<0.05 so that there is a significant difference in results between the pretest and posttest scores (H0 is rejected). It can be concluded that there is a difference in self-directedness between students who study human and environmental subjects using the think pair project share model and those who use the conventional model. It is known that the application of the TP2S learning model has an effect on the self-directedness of prospective science teachers. The implications of this research support and strengthen the results of theoretical studies that the TP2S learning model is a student-centered learning model that utilizes the ability to manage learning strategies independently.

Abstract

Penelitian ini melakukan analisis bibliometrik untuk mengeksplorasi evolusi dan hubungan antardisiplin dalam penelitian Artificial Intelligence (AI) menggunakan VOSviewer. Hasil studi mengungkapkan bahwa AI telah berintegrasi secara luas dalam berbagai sektor, termasuk kesehatan, keuangan, dan pengembangan kota cerdas, menunjukkan dampak transformasionalnya di berbagai bidang. Analisis ini juga menyoroti pentingnya data science dan cloud computing dalam mendukung kapabilitas AI serta menekankan isu keamanan, privasi, dan etika sebagai pertimbangan penting dalam pengembangan AI. Selanjutnya, temuan menunjukkan kebutuhan kolaborasi interdisipliner untuk mengatasi tantangan kompleks yang dihadapi dalam penerapan AI. Studi ini memberikan panduan yang berguna untuk pengembangan kebijakan dan strategi yang dapat memanfaatkan potensi AI sambil mengatasi risiko yang terkait.

Abstract

Science literacy is crucial for prospective elementary school teachers to enhance their higher-order thinking skills. Science education that emphasizes the development of higher-order thinking skills is based on science process skills. This research aims to determine the relationship between science literacy and science process skills on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) cognitive learning outcomes. The study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational method. Data collection for the variables of science literacy and HOTS cognitive learning outcomes was conducted through written tests, while data collection for the science process skills variable was carried out through performance tests developed by the researcher. The population consists of all 2022 Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program or PGSD students in Sebelas Maret University, with random cluster sampling. Data analysis employs multiple correlation analysis. The results indicate a positive and significant relationship between science literacy and science process skills on HOTS cognitive learning outcomes, with a significance value of 0.000 0.05 and a Pearson correlation value of 0.495. There is a positive and significant combined relationship between science literacy and science process skills on HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skills) cognitive learning outcomes, with a moderate level of correlation. The findings of this study have important implications for students' enhancement of their science process skills, science literacy, and HOTS cognitive learning outcomes. This research positively impacts academic programs by encouraging students and implementing relevant teaching strategies and methods, thereby improving science literacy, science process skills, and HOTS cognitive learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the results of expert validation on game-based interactive multimedia development as an effort to improve the cognitive abilities of elementary school students. This study was development research involving the stages of a preliminary study, product development, and testing. Validation was one of the stages in a product development. It was carried out by material experts and media experts. The validation results were analyzed by converting quantitative data into qualitative data on a scale of five. The data of the development validation results were in the form of the validity percentage of the interactive multimedia to improve the cognitive abilities of elementary school students. The results of the interactive multimedia validation showed that the mean score of the validation from the media experts was 4.28 which was included in very good category, and the mean score of the validation from material experts was 4.27 which was included in very good category. Experts generally commented that gamebased interactive multimedia was good and interesting and it could be used in the learning activities. Then, the researcher made revisions according to the inputs received from the experts. Improvements in interactive multimedia included adding a button to return to the main menu and the exit button, changing the menu, simplifying the material so that it was not too dense, changing the font size in less readable parts, adding references, moving cartoon characters' feet and hands while walking, and changing evaluation questions.

Abstract

Sikap ilmiah merupakan hal penting dalam pembelajaran ilmu pengetahuan alam dan ilmu pengetahuan sosial. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji pengaruh pendekatan Socioscientific Issues terhadap sikap ilmiah di MIN 1 Wonogiri. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen dengan nonequivalent control group design. Penelitian ini menggunakan pretest dan posttest untuk membandingkan rata-rata hasil kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Jumlah sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 54 siswa berdasarkan teknik random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan skala asesmen dan observasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji hipotesis dengan uji t sampel independen. Syarat uji yang harus dipenuhi adalah normalitas dan homogenitas data. Hasil statistik uji t dalam penelitian ini sebesar 0,018 sehingga lebih kecil dari nilai signifikansi 0,05. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka terdapat pengaruh antara pendekatan SSI terhadap sikap ilmiah. Rata-rata hasil sikap ilmiah kelas eksperimen sebesar 82,4 dan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 79,1. Penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa peningkatan sikap ilmiah pada masing-masing aspek yaitu rasa ingin tahu sebesar 15,72%, tujuan sebesar 12,72%, cermat sebelum mengambil keputusan sebesar 12,72%, berpikir terbuka sebesar 16,07%, jujur sebesar 14 ,96%, dan tingkat bunga sebesar 16,07%. Melakukan kegiatan pembelajaran IPA dan IPS yang mengajarkan sikap ilmiah agar siswa memiliki sikap positif dalam belajar yang dapat mempengaruhi hasil belajar.

Abstract

Literasi ilmiah adalah kemampuan peserta didik untuk menghubungkan peristiwa dan teknologi kompleks di era globalisasi dengan pemahaman ilmiah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran inkuiri terhadap literasi sains peserta didik kelas IV SD Negeri Bibis Luhur I Surakarta. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Kuasi-Eksperimental. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan desain kelompok kontrol Non-ekuivalen. Subjek penelitian diambil menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel acak sederhana. Subjek penelitian adalah 60 peserta didik yang terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas IV A dan IV B di SD Bibis Luhur I, Surakarta. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan beberapa cara termasuk observasi, dokumentasi, dan teknik pengujian. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji T sampel independen. Uji prasyarat analisis menggunakan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk dan uji homogenitas Levene. Hasil Hasil uji hipotesis (uji t) menunjukkan bahwa nilai signifikansi &gt; 0,05 yaitu 0,290, maka H₀ ditolak dan H₁ diterima, sehingga terdapat pengaruh signifikan penggunaan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing terhadap literasi sains siswa kelas IV di SD Bibis Luhur I, Surakarta. Inkuiri terbimbing memiliki pengaruh positif pada setiap aspek literasi sains termasuk aspek proses sains, konten sains, dan konteks sains.

Abstract

This study analyzes the learning readiness of elementary school students in implementing differentiated learning, on grade IV-VI students in Cluster 1 Puntadewa, Serengan District, Surakarta City. Differentiated learning involves modifying content, processes, and products according to student's readiness, interests, and learning profiles. This study uses a descriptive quantitative approach with data obtained through a learning readiness scale. The population in this study consists of students in grades IV–VI from elementary schools in the Puntadewa 1 Cluster, Serengan District, Surakarta City, for the 2023/2024 academic year. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, which included two schools: SD Negeri Kartodipuran and SD Muhammadiyah 14. The learning readiness scale in this study consisted of 40 statement items covering four aspects of learning readiness: (1) physical readiness, (2) psychological readiness, (3) material readiness, and (4) attitude and knowledge. The results showed that students had varying levels of learning readiness, which were divided into three categories: high, medium, and low. Differentiated learning helps students with high learning readiness achieve better results than those with medium and low learning readiness. The implications of this study support the use of differentiated learning strategies to improve the effectiveness and inclusiveness of learning.
