Abstract

Judul penelitian ini adalah “ Nilai-nilai Pendididikan dalam Pakaian Pernikahan dan Pedah-pedah Pernikahan Suku Karo”. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memahami nilai pendidikan yang terkandung dalam pakaian pernikahan suku karo dan pedah-pedah pernikahan. kami menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara faktual dan akurat. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah pakaian pernikahan dan pedah-pedah pernikahan suku karo. Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis interaktif yaitu reduksi, penyajian data, dan inferensi. Proses penelitian meliputi perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan penyusunan laporan. Menurut hasil penelitian dari pakaian dan pedah-pedah adalah setiap uis yang dikenakan oleh pengantin memiliki nilai pendidikan seperti nilai religius, gotong royong, dll. Begitu juga dengan pedah-pedah yang diberikan kalimbubu kepada kedua mempelai. Hasil utama dari penelitian ini adalah publikasi ilmiah di jurnal nasional dan keluaran penelitian berupa bahan bacaan utama dari penelitian ini adalah publikasi ilmiah jurnal nasioanal dan hasil penelitian berupa bahan bacaan

Abstract

Tujuan penulis dalam penelitian ini adalah untuk membahas isu-isu yang sering muncul, khususnya di masa sekarang, seperti terkait dengan rendahnya moralitas siswa dan rendahnya standar moral di sekolah dasar dan menengah. Dari permasalahan tersebut maka langkah yang dapat dilakukan ialah dengan menguatkan pemahaman karakter peserta didik dengan menggunakan tradisi lisan khusunya dari cerita rakyat simalungun. Menelaah nilai-nilai budaya yang terdapat dalam cerita rakyat Simalungun, penulis. Penelitian yang mencoba mendeskripsikan nilai-nilai budaya ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metodologi kualitatif yang meliputi membaca dan mencatat literatur. Membaca, mencatat, dan menjelaskan data digunakan sebagai strategi pengumpulan data. Data penelitian ini berasal dari beberapa buku cerita rakyat (Sastra Daerah Disumatera). Hasil analisis data mengungkapkan bah a nilai-nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam cerita rakyat Simalungun adalah nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan Tuhan, nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan alam, nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan masyarakat, nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan manusia lain, dan nilai budaya dalam hubungan manusia dengan dirinya sendiri. Abstract

The most crucial relationships for students' social and emotional development and wellbeing are those between parents and pupils. While there is a wealth of research on programs to enhance parent-child connections, few are designed for use by educators in early education and care settings. This study aims to describe teachers' comprehension of the parent-child relationship concerning social and emotional development, the teacher's role in fostering the parent-child relationship, and the forms of teacher support in the parent-child relationship. This research method is a qualitative descriptive study with a phenomenological design involving six school principals and twenty teachers at the elementary education level as research subjects. The results showed that early education teachers were reluctant to contact parents, although acknowledging the importance of parent-child interactions. Teachers tended to be unwilling to impart their knowledge to parents since it was primarily implicit and derived from observations and real-world experiences. Teachers want theoretical, supported evidence methods to deepen their understanding and enhance everyday activities that strengthen parent-child interactions. The results are crucial for creating a parent-child connection program led by educators for implementation in educational and childcare facilities. A comprehension of educators' regular practices, their function in promoting parent-child connections, and children's social and emotional development should be explored to guide the creation of an educator program. These results are crucial for creating a parent-child connection program developed by educators for use in educational and childcare settings.

Abstract

This study aimed to explore linguistic competence in academic text translation by professionals, focusing on their awareness, dominant linguistic competence and strategies, and the impact of Machine Translation (MT) and AI-driven software on their workflow. The research utilized the PACTE TC’s model (2003), which includes pragmatic, sociolinguistic, textual, grammatical, and lexical sub-competences. A qualitative research design by Creswell Creswell (2018) with a descriptive method was employed to delve deeply into the subjective experiences of professional translators.  The surveys were conducted via Google Form from March to April 2024. The results indicate that the respondents demonstrated high awareness of linguistic competence, particularly in pragmatic, sociolinguistic, textual, grammatical, and lexical aspects. Respondents identified linguistic challenges such as lexical, textual, and sociolinguistic issues. Strategies to overcome these challenges included using online resources, human checks, and continuous learning. The results also show varied attitudes towards MT and AI, with some translators embracing these tools for efficiency and others preferred manual methods. MT and AI were perceived to enhance translation quality, especially in grammar accuracy and efficiency. However, the study’s limitations highlight the need for future research on the effectiveness of different MT and AI tools, balancing technological assistance with human expertise, and the impact of training programs.

Abstract

The purpose to be reached in conducting this study is to share information about the use of flash expressions book as instructional media to enrich vocabulary mastery in learning teaching. It is true to say that there are lots of instructional media in such a way that they can be used to deliver the materials and to understand materials. According to certain research findings done by the students of the English Department at the University of Prima Indonesia, it is suggested to use the flash expressions book as instructional media to improve the quality of learning English. Because the flash expressions book has interesting materials and can provide learning motivation for readers, the flash expressions book has 4 main topics and more than 200 expressions that will help us to speak of expressions and can  enrich our vocabulary. Based on the information above, it is clear that the use of flash expressions book can be expected to be the solution to solve the problems that  occurred in attempts to increase vocabulary mastery when learning English. Abstract

The purpose of this journal analysis is to train the effectiveness of English Foreign Language student practice exercises and vocabulary mastery and reading comprehension. Two specific factors conditions: (a) vocabulary acquisition and retention of different exercises; (b) reading comprehension performance through different exercises. That the results revealed that the qualitative group received significant and superior practice questions and vocabulary mastery the control group who received vocabulary copying exercises on the performance of increasing students' vocabulary, reading comprehension, as well as short-term and long-term word memory retention. Positive correlation between vocabulary knowledge and reading comprehension are also considered. Hence, ignore that vocabulary mastery and question exercises are the more effective types of exercises for vocabulary acquisition and reading understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to describe of expressions  that used  by students contained in “When English Rings a Bell” textbook of eighth grade students. The expressions used by the  speakers to express a massage, thoughts, feelings, or opinions to other people. People must use certain expression depend on the situation. This study used qualitative research design because all the data get from words not numbers. The writers used conversation from the book as a source of the data. The result of the study shows that the expressions contained in textbook When English Rings A Bell fits with the situation, what and when they want to speak.  The kinds of expressions can be conveyed through expression in this study is how to ask and give attention.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze how writing teaching strategies by teacher in junior high school students. Based on some observations it is difficult to write texts because they have mastery of words and confidence in expressing ideas in written form. Using qualitative descriptive methods and tending to use student writing analysis and identify teacher difficulties in teaching writing in junior high school.The results of this study found that the teacher's ability to improve students' writing skills was more or less below average. This means that the writing skills of junior high school students are included in the poor category.In addition, the limited vocabulary mastery for students is one of the teacher's difficulties in teaching writing. Overall, this research was quite challenging to do because it not only had to understand teaching writing strategies but also because the epidemic situation made data collection difficult.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reading material in the English textbook of Class XI students, as well as to determine the types of reading texts available in the textbook and whether the type of reading text is under the 2013 Curriculum, and has met three aspects, namely the content aspect, the presentation aspect, and language use based on Pusat Perbukuan of the Ministry of National Education. Researchers used a qualitative research design where the results were be presented in words without statistical calculations. Another instrument was the checklist form used during the research analysis. The data were collected from reading materials in the textbook. The results showed that the reading materials in English textbooks were following the criteria for quality English textbooks recommended by Pusat Perbukuan of the Ministry of National Education.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Salah satu dampak yang sangat nampak yang disebabkan oleh Covid-19 adalah di dunia pendidikan, saat sekolah diliburkan, namun pembelajaran harus wajib dilaksanakan, dimana lembaga pendidikan diwajibkan menyelesaikan evaluasi online. Hal ini juga mempengaruhi kegiatan belajar online. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan persiapan assessmen guru SMP mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia pembelajaran secara online.  Mendeskripsikan praktik asessmen kemampuan membaca dalam pembelajaran daring, mendeskripsikan hasil asesmen yang dilaksanakan oleh guru terhadap kemampuan membaca peserta didik. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif, dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif. Kemudian mengumpulkan data dengan cara mensurvei lokasi penelitian dan berbagai bahan kepustakaan yang berasal dari, majalah terkait, artikel, buku yang berkaitan dengan sumber penelitian. Tehnik deskriptif digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Tehnik tersebut digunakan untuk mengumpulkan informasi dari suatu fenomena secara objektif. Hasil yang diperoleh dalam penelitian terbagi atas tiga. Ketiganya meliputi persiapan pelaksanaan penilaian guru SMP dalam pembelajaran daring, praktik asesmen kemampuan membaca dalam pembelajaran daring, dan terakhir hasil penilaian asesmen yang dilaksanakan oleh guru terhadap kemampuan membaca peserta didik.KATA KUNCI: Kemampuan Membaca Siswa; Penilaian; Pembelajaran DaringTEACHER ASSESSMENT PRACTICES ON STUDENTS' READING ABILITY IN NETWORK LEARNING (ONLINE) ABSTRACT One of the very visible impacts caused by Covid-19 is in the world of education, when schools are closed, learning must be carried out, where educational institutions are required to complete online evaluations. This also affects online learning activities. This research was conducted to describe the preparation of online learning for junior high school teacher assessments of Indonesian language subjects. Describe the practice of assessing reading ability in online learning, describing the results of the assessment carried out by the teacher on students' reading ability. This research method uses qualitative research, using a descriptive approach. Then collect data by surveying research locations and various library materials originating from related magazines, articles, books related to research sources. Descriptive techniques were used to analyze the data. The technique is used to collect information from a phenomenon objectively. The results obtained in the study are divided into three. These three include preparing for the implementation of junior high school teacher assessments in online learning, practice assessment reading ability in online learning, and finally the results of the assessment carried out by the teacher on students' reading abilities.KEYWORDS: Student Reading Ability; Evaluation; Online Learning
