Abstract

The Government of Indonesia is implementing a Measured Fishing policy to ensure the sustainable utilization of fishery resources. However, 88% of fish stocks are currently in fully fished (35%) or overfished (53%) condition, which hinders the attainment of maximum sustainable yield (MSY). This study aims to examine the influence of initial biomass (B₀) and annual harvest rate (Yₜ) on the sustainability of annual catch (Cₜ) and remaining biomass (Bₜ) using a logistic differential equation (LDE) model. Simulations were conducted across nine fishery models, combining three levels of B₀ and three levels of Yₜ, under assumptions of carrying capacity (K) of 1000 tons and a hipothetical fish biomass with intrinsic growth rate (r) of 0.05. Results indicate that the ratio of Yₜ to the current sustainable yield (SYₜ) is the primary determinant of stock sustainability and fishery longevity, regardless of B₀. This finding suggests that total allowable catch (TAC) should not be based solely on MSY, but rather adjusted according to SYₜ, while also incorporating precautionary principles and stock recovery strategies. This approach offers a more adaptive and realistic policy framework aligned with current stock conditions and supports the long-term sustainability of capture fisheries. Key words: biomass models, fish stocks, precision fishing, sustainable potency, TAC

Abstract

Semi-active dampers reduce the effects of shock vibrations because they can operate at specific vibration frequencies at a lower cost than more complex active dampers.  PSMEID is one of the alternative methods developed in the semi-active damping system. PSMEID has been developed by adapting it by adding a PSMEID active time prediction system when an impact occurs. This research attempts to compare two types of PSMEID with active time prediction, where the position of each model offered has a different PSMEID mass position when applied to the landing gear damper of an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). This comparison aims to give the user a choice among these optimal models suitable for use in multiple conditions. When simulated using the same parameter values, the PSMEID placed on the unsprung mass can reduce acceleration amplitude by up to 6.6 percent when the landing gear is dropped at 0.15 meters from the ground. The model that places the PSMEID on the sprung mass can help reduce the velocity amplitude up to 8.8 percent when dropped at a height of 0.05 meters, and the spring constant value of the PSMEID (KPS) is 1600 N/m. All these simulations show that the PSMEID should be activated just before the landing gear hits the runway surface (TB < TL).

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the financial performance of PT. Plaza Indonesia Realty Tbk, PT. Roda Vivatex Tbk, and PT Urban Jakarta Propertindo Tbk from 2017 to 2021 using liquidity, solvency, activity and profitability ratios. This study uses secondary data obtained from the company's annual financial reports at IDN financials and on the company's website itself. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that the company's liquidity when viewed from the current ratio and quick ratio is running quite well, but the cash ratio is not running well, which means the company is less current in its short-term obligations. Then in terms of company solvency, seen from the Debt Asset to Ratio, all companies are in a fairly good category and the Debt to Equity Ratio is only PT Plaza Indonesia Realty Tbk, which is not good, this shows that the company is increasingly finding it difficult to pay long-term obligations. Then, in the company's activities, it can be seen from the inventory turnover of PT Urban Jakarta Propertindo, which is not going well and the asset turnover ratio of the three companies is also not doing well, which means that the company gets less income per dollar of assets. While seen from the profitability using the net profit margin ratio only PT. Urban Jakarta Propertindo Tbk which is above the industry standard so that it shows the company is running quite well in terms of net profit after tax so that the company is able to reduce its operational costs in certain periods while the Return on Assets and Return on Equity ratios of the three companies are below standard industry so that it shows the size of a company is not good for the profitability of the company itself which shows the effectiveness of management in using assets to earn income every year.

Abstract

This study analyzes Ernest Hemingway’s short story Cat in the Rain through the lens of Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic theory, with a particular focus on the concept of the icon. Peirce’s semiotics is based on three key elements: the sign, the object, and the interpretant, which together construct meaning. Among these, the icon is a sign that resembles or directly represents its referent. This research aims to identify and interpret the various iconic signs present in Hemingway’s narrative, shedding light on their role in shaping the story’s deeper meanings. Through a close reading of Cat in the Rain, several iconic markers emerge, contributing to the story’s symbolism and thematic depth. The cat itself, as an icon, represents unfulfilled desires, loneliness, and emotional longing, mirroring the protagonist’s inner struggles. Other significant icons, such as the rain and the hotel setting, reinforce the atmosphere of isolation and confinement. By analyzing these elements through Peirce’s semiotic framework, this study explores how Hemingway employs iconic signs to communicate complex emotional and psychological states with minimalistic yet powerful language. The findings reveal that the use of icons in Cat in the Rain plays a crucial role in conveying the protagonist’s sense of longing and dissatisfaction. This study contributes to literary semiotics by demonstrating how Peirce’s theory enhances the understanding of Hemingway’s symbolic storytelling techniques. Ultimately, the analysis underscores the effectiveness of iconic representation in literature, offering new insights into the interplay between signs and meaning in Hemingway’s work.

Abstract

The application of the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method serves as a strategic approach to ensure alignment between consumer needs and the technical characteristics of the “Matcha Boy” beverage product, playing a crucial role in translating the voice of the customer (VoC) into measurable decision-making within the product development process. By combining qualitative and quantitative approaches, data were collected through direct observation, open and closed questionnaires, and in-depth interviews with business practitioners. The analysis results indicate that the most influential attributes on purchasing decisions are the authentic and consistent matcha flavor, affordable pricing, and fast and friendly service, while menu variety and attractive packaging design serve as supporting factors to strengthen brand image and enhance consumer experience. The development of the House of Quality (HoQ) matrix revealed that aspects such as ingredient formulation, matcha powder quality, sugar measurement control, and the selection of milk types have strong correlations with customer satisfaction levels, emphasizing that improving the quality of raw materials and ensuring flavor consistency should be the top priorities in the product development strategy. Overall, the application of the QFD method at “Matcha Boy” has proven effective in providing a systematic, efficient, and market-oriented development direction and serves as a model that can be adopted by MSME actors to enhance the competitiveness of contemporary beverage products in line with modern consumption trends.

Abstract

The Child Decent City Policy in Indonesia is based on Article 21 of Law Number 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection which states that the State Government and local governments are obliged and responsible to respect the Fulfillment of Children's Rights, then Law Number 11 of 2006 concerning the government of Aceh which in its derivatives Aceh qanun number 11 of 2008 concerning Child Protection emphasizes the fulfillment of children's rights. Qanun Number 2 of 20212 concerning Child-Friendly Cities, which is a derivative of the regulation on which it is explained that the City government makes together with the Gampong government, parents, communities and community organizations in realizing development that protects children's rights. This study aims to find out how the Implementation of Banda Aceh City Qanun number 2 of 2021 concerning Child Friendly Cities, what factors affect the Implementation of Banda Aceh City Qanun number 2 of 2021 concerning Child Friendly Cities and the legal consequences of the unimplementation of Banda Aceh City Qanun number 2 of 2021 concerning Child Friendly Cities. The type of research used is empirical juridical with a statutory approach and an analytical approach, both of these approaches are needed to analyze and examine the implementation of the qanun, research sources consist of primary data sources (interviews, observations), secondary (laws, literature and other legal materials). The results of the study found that the implementation of the qanun of Banda Aceh City regarding a child-friendly city has not run well and effectively, this is influenced by several factors, the inhibiting factors consist of human resource factors, financial resource factors, leader commitment factors and policy implementation factors, while the supporting factors in the implementation of Child Decent Cities in Banda Aceh are resource factors, facilities and infrastructure, and community institution support factors. Then the legal effect of the non-implementation of the Banda Aceh city qanun concerning Child Decent Cities is administrative sanctions, although in fact the implementation of these sanctions has so far never been applied.
