Abstract

This article tries to reformulate the concept of ta'lim in the Quran so that it can be one of the solutions in answering the challenges of today's growing era. The civilization of science and technology is influenced by the philosophical schools of positivism, rationalism, and materialism. True according to this school, must come out with an approach to empiric boundaries and logic (secular), where scientific concepts must be measured in a mustard manner. All the truths produced must never reach the truths that are beyond the reach of the empiric. Al-Quran has very different characteristics and extraordinary, both in terms of content, language and systematics. Al-Quran has provided the best solution for all aspects of human life without limits of space and time, especially in the area of education. The pattern of Islamic education, which is seen as underdeveloped from the Western education model, is a challenge for Muslim intellectuals to formulate the concept of ta'lim that can bridge this gap. With the approach of review literature, the results of the study showed that the concept of ta'lim in the Quran if developed further is very closely related to psychological situations and highly interactive educational communication. Inter-relation between ta'lim concepts in this perspective will be able to build a comprehensive and integrative ta'lim concept with the presence of rahmaniyyah principles, so that intellectual generations will be born accompanied by a solid character.

Abstract

Juvenile delinquency has become a common phenomenon in society. Although various efforts have been made in order to overcome this problem, the behavior of young people to show their existence in these deviant ways is never ending. Apart from creating a space for actualization to accommodate their various interests and talents, the role of parents is very important in dealing with juvenile delinquency. In particular, this article examines the role of parents in overcoming juvenile delinquency from an Islamic perspective. The purpose of this study is to find alternative solutions, especially solutions that come from family influences. Meanwhile, the method used in the research uses a research library, namely analyzing and reviewing various previous scientific articles. The results obtained from this study indicate that the role of parents is very important in overcoming juvenile delinquency. The presence of parents by inviting positive dialogue to their teenage children is needed so that they get exemplary figures from the attitudes and behavior of their parents. In this case, parents also need to teach their children with commendable morals (al-Akhlak al-Mahmudah).

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the internalization process of the Ulul Ilmi model in moral learning as a moral aspect of Islamic teachings. The world of education is now restless in the face of increasingly severe moral degradation. The key to education's success lies in innovative educators' hands in developing appropriate learning models to achieve the expected learning goals. This research design uses an R & D (Research and development) approach. The results of this study indicate that the process of internalizing the Ulul Ilmi model, which is carried out in the moral learning process, can have an impact on changing the character of Ulul Ilmi in students. The pre-test results using the Ulul Ilmi model only obtained a 20-50% range. In contrast, the post-test results showed a presentation with a range of 50-70% of the answers to each item presented in the question instrument. That means there is a significant change that is felt by students when the lecturer applies the Ulul Ilmi model in the classroom. Likewise, with the Ulul Ilmi character in students, the results of the pre-test show a range of 20-50% only. Meanwhile, the post-test results show a percentage ranging from 30-60% of the answers to each item presented in the question instrument. That means there are quite good changes obtained from the results of the internalization process in the classroom. However, the percentage obtained does not indicate the optimal presentation because the internalization process that is carried out takes a long time and is continuous. It is better to try again to get the maximum change results in realizing the Ulul Ilmi character in UPI students.

Abstract

Learning in pesantren with conventional methods is often faced with challenges in the learning process. The application of innovative learning methods is needed so that the learning process becomes more interesting and effective for students. This study aims to explore the implementation of the singing method in fiqh learning at Miftahul Jannah An-Nuriyyah Islamic Boarding School. The research approach used is qualitative with descriptive methods. Data collection techniques are direct observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students in the pesantren. The results showed that the singing method was able to increase santri involvement in the learning process and help them get the material more easily and fun. This method also creates a dynamic learning atmosphere and makes it easier for santri to memorize and understand fiqh concepts. The main challenge in applying this method is the creativity for teachers in composing fiqh material into the form of song lyrics so that it is easier to understand and in accordance with the core of the material. The conclusion of this study is that the singing method can be an effective alternative in learning fiqh in pesantren, especially in improving students' understanding and memory of the material taught.

Abstract

Purpose – This study evaluates the effectiveness of the Ulul Ilmi model in enhancing the spiritual and moral character of students at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. The research addresses gaps in Islamic moral education by integrating spiritual and ethical development into teaching practices, responding to the challenges of moral degradation and limited efficacy of traditional approaches. Design/methods/approach – A quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test assessments was employed involving 80 undergraduate students. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, cognitive tests, and daily spiritual activity forms. The analysis used paired t-tests to measure changes in six dimensions of the Ulul Ilmi character: knowledge, attitude, skill, ethics, social, and spirituality. Findings – The study bridges critical gaps in moral education by introducing and evaluating a comprehensive framework grounded in Islamic principles. The Ulul Ilmi model uniquely addresses knowledge, skills, attitudes, and spirituality, offering an innovative response to contemporary ethical challenges. Research implications – Educational institutions can adopt the Ulul Ilmi model to integrate daily spiritual practices, such as prayer and self-reflection, into curricula. The findings underscore the importance of comprehensive assessment tools to measure and enhance moral education outcomes effectively.
