Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of peer corrective feedback (PCF) treatment on students' writing skills in the hortatory exposition text of grade XI in the second semester of vocational high school. This research used a quasi-experiment with a non-equivalent pre-test and post-test control group design. The data were collected from forty-three students from the experimental and control groups through observation, tests including pre-test and post-test, and treatment through feedback responses and PCF form for the experimental class. The data were analyzed by using a paired sample t-test to compare the writing skills in each of the two classes, and an independent sample t-test to determine the influence of peer corrective feedback on students’ writing skills. The paired sample t-test indicated a significant difference in writing skills between both classes. The independent sample t-test showed that peer corrective feedback positively influenced students' writing, helping with the correction and revision process, as a result, it is improving their hortatory exposition writing skills. It also enhanced their learning experience and motivation in the classroom as it was supported by more interactive and communicative learning through a collaborative learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the PPP (Presentation, Practice, and Production) method in improving descriptive text writing skills among eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri Bandung. The PPP method is implemented through three stages: Presentation, Practice, and Production. In the Presentation stage, the teacher delivers the material in a structured manner. In the Practice stage, students engage in guided writing practice. Whereas in the Production stage, students produce writing independently. This study uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design, employing the one-group pretest-posttest technique. Data were collected through descriptive writing tests before and after the implementation of the PPP method. The research results show a significant improvement in students' writing skills after the implementation of the PPP method. The average pretest score of 56.94 increased to 68.85 on the posttest. Statistical analysis using the paired t-test showed a significance value (p < 0.05), which means that the PPP method is effective in improving students' descriptive writing skills. Based on these findings, it is concluded that the PPP method is an effective teaching strategy and is recommended for use in teaching descriptive text writing.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to describe and analyze the role of the principal in the management of development (planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising) of educators and education personnel to meet the National Education Standards (SNP), as well as identifying supporting factors, obstacles, and solutions. Method: Using a qualitative case study approach. Data were collected at SDN Rancaekek 05 Bandung Regency and SD Al-Husainiyyah Bandung City through participant observation, in-depth interviews with principals, teachers, and administrative staff, and documentation studies. Results: Principals at both schools have carried out management functions (planning, organizing, actuating, controlling) effectively in staff development. Although contributing to improving quality and professionalism according to the SNP, development is still hampered by administrative burdens, budget constraints, and teacher digitalization resistance, which are then overcome through individual mentoring and open communication. Novelty: This study provides a concrete comparative model of the principal's strategy in synchronizing staff competencies with SNP demands in two different school characteristics (public and private/religious schools), while also mapping tactical solutions to teacher digitalization resistance at the elementary school level.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Implementation of the Policy of the Directorate General of Islamic Education Circular No. 10 of 2024 concerning the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) at the Tarogong Islamic Boarding School, Garut Regency, and its impact on students' learning motivation. Education, especially in Islamic boarding schools, requires special attention regarding adequate nutritional access for students, which has a significant impact on the learning process. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design, which allows researchers to explore in depth the experiences and perceptions of students, teachers, Islamic boarding school leaders, kitchen managers and parents regarding this program. The results of the study indicate that this policy has a positive impact on students' learning motivation, where the majority of students reported increased enthusiasm and concentration in participating in learning after receiving nutritious food intake regularly. However, there are challenges in its implementation, such as the quality of distribution and the need for training for supporting staff. This study provides recommendations for related parties to improve collaboration between educational institutions, local governments, and logistics providers for the sustainability of the program, as well as implementing evaluation mechanisms to improve aspects that are less effective. In conclusion, the Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) not only functions as a nutritional intervention, but also as an important strategy in improving the motivation and learning achievement of students in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze school principals’ management practices in strengthening numeracy programs for Grades 1–6 students at SDN Rawasari and SDN Ciheuleut, Subang Regency. Previous studies have generally examined school leadership and numeracy separately, whereas comparative research investigating the institutionalization of numeracy programs in schools with different levels of management maturity remains limited. The novelty of this study lies in its cross-case analysis of the planning, organizing, implementation, supervision, evaluation, and follow-up of numeracy programs in two elementary schools. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a multi-site case study design. The participants included school principals, teachers, students, and parents involved in the implementation of the numeracy program. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis and were analyzed using data reduction, data display, cross-case analysis, and conclusion drawing. The trustworthiness of the findings was ensured through source and methodological triangulation. The findings indicate that SDN Rawasari has achieved a higher level of numeracy program institutionalization than SDN Ciheuleut. SDN Rawasari has integrated data-informed planning, role distribution through a literacy–numeracy working group, budget allocation, academic supervision, and regular evaluation into its school management system. In contrast, SDN Ciheuleut has primarily focused on classroom-based numeracy activities that are not yet fully supported by clearly defined performance indicators, a formal organizational structure, budget allocation, or documented follow-up actions. The study concludes that the sustainability of school numeracy programs is closely associated with data-informed management, clearly defined responsibilities, instructional supervision, and systematic evaluation and follow-up.
