Abstract

This service aims to introduce students to the multiplication wheel media and help students improve their knowledge and skills in the learning process so that students do not get bored when studying Mathematics. This service was carried out at SDN 213 Sabbang where teachers still had minimal use of learning media. The learning media used is the multiplication wheel media. The aim of this research is to increase students' understanding of the concept of multiplication operations using the multiplication pinwheel media method. The results of the activity show that the use of appropriate instructional media can increase students’ enthusiasm for learning multiplication. The multiplication wheel media not only helps students understand the concepts more concretely but also creates a more engaging and interactive learning atmosphere. In addition, based on the findings during the community service program, it is recommended that teachers create varied learning situations in the classroom, not rely solely on textbooks, and utilize relevant and creative learning media to enhance the effectiveness of mathematics instruction. These efforts are expected to continue supporting the improvement of teaching and learning quality in elementary schools.

Abstract

This study examines the leadership of Sultan Abdul Hamid II in modernizing the Ottoman Caliphate during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Amidst Western colonial pressures, internal fragmentation, and rising ethnic nationalism, he implemented modernization policies in education, infrastructure, and communication, while reinforcing religious symbolism through Pan-Islamism. The research adopts a qualitative approach using historical-critical and hermeneutic methods, utilizing primary sources such as official documents and speeches, alongside secondary sources like academic literature and archival materials. Early scholarship generally portrayed Abdul Hamid II as authoritarian, but more recent studies recognize his strategic role in developing modern education systems, financial institutions, and communication networks in response to global challenges. Findings indicate that despite his autocratic style, he initiated modernization projects such as the founding of technical and women’s schools, construction of railways—including the Hijaz Railway—and reforms in legal and military sectors. He also rejected Western diplomatic pressure on the Palestine issue and extended influence to non-Ottoman Muslim communities through religious diplomacy. However, his authoritarianism sparked opposition, particularly the Young Turk movement, which ultimately deposed him. This study concludes that Abdul Hamid II’s rule reflects an adaptive leadership model that combined authoritarianism, modernization, and religious legitimacy. It contributes to Islamic historiography and modern political studies by showing how religious symbolism and development were used as tools of diplomacy and social control. Limitations include a lack of microhistorical focus and insufficient exploration of Muslim perspectives beyond the imperial center, pointing to the need for further localized research.

Abstract

The UN's principal mission is to promote international stability and peace. To that end, the UN established the Security Council, its governing body with last say on the subject. The United States, Russia, China, and France—the five most militarily competent nations—are veto-wielding permanent members of the United Nations Security Council. The fundamental objective of this research is to determine the impact of veto power on the function of the United Nations Security Council in maintaining global peace and security. In that case, will we be attempting to have a lex expert on the right to veto? This work is classified as normative research. The results showed that the veto did not improve the Security Council's performance. The ability to veto decisions made by the Security Council on how to address critical international crises means that the council isn't always effective. Legal rules should be put in place to ensure that the right to veto as a controller is not misused and fulfils its original purpose. The power to reject a resolution in situations involving crimes against humanity or genocide is an important part of the veto system, as is the two-year limit on each non-permanent member's use of the veto, and the limitation of veto use to a single case if discussed consecutively in Security Council meetings.

Abstract

Background: The third molar is the final tooth to emerge in the oral cavity, distinguished by variability in its developmental timing and the potential for its presence or absence, rendering it particularly susceptible to environmental fluctuations during odontogenesis. Consequently, the prevalence of third molar impaction or hereditary absence is the highest among all teeth. The third molar is linked to various clinical problems, such as impaction, ectopic eruption, hard and soft tissue disorders, and agenesis. Tooth agenesis refers to the congenital absence of one or more teeth and is among the most prevalent defects in individuals. Purpose: This study aimed at exploring the distribution of third molar agenesis cases according to gender, jaw involvement, affected side, and the quantity of missing teeth. Methods: This research employed a quantitative methodology characterized by a descriptive observational design. Data were acquired from secondary sources, comprising panoramic radiographs and medical data sourced from Wahab Sjahranie regional General Hospital (RSUD). Results: Agenesis's gender distribution showed more frequency in females (69.2%) than in males (30.8%). Agenesis mainly impacted the maxilla (44.2%), then the mandible (26.9%), then both jaws (28.8%). Furthermore, on the frequency of absent third molars, the most often occurring situation was the absence of one tooth (50.0%), followed by two teeth (28.8%), three teeth (9.6%), and four teeth (11.5%). Conclusion: The findings of this study demonstrate that third molar agenesis is more prevalent in females, predominantly occurs in the maxilla, is more frequently unilateral, and typically entails the absence of a single tooth. Keywords: agenesis, panoramic, third molar

Abstract

This study is based on the reality that mental disorders continue to be misunderstood in society, despite their serious impacts on an individual's psychological and physical health. This study aims to examine QS. Yūsuf [12]:13 and 84 within the conceptual framework of mental disorders, focusing on the emotional story of Prophet Ya’qub that depicts deep sadness and worry, which affected his physical condition. The method used is the Ma’nā-cum-Maghzā hermeneutical approach to explore the meanings of key terms in the verses and their relevance to modern psychological phenomena. The results of the analysis indicate that terms such as ḥuzn, khawf, asafā, and kaẓīm not only contain spiritual meanings but also imply psychosomatic symptoms consistent with the concept of mental disorders, such as depression and anxiety. This study contributes theoretically to the development of multidisciplinary thematic exegesis and has practical implications for the development of therapy based on Qur’anic values. These findings highlight the need for integration between exegetical approaches, psychology, and Islamic spirituality in addressing the psychological challenges faced by the Muslim community in the modern era.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze how students’ cognitive styles influence their thinking processes in mathematical problem solving through a Literature Review approach using the PRISMA method (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). The review identifies and synthesizes various studies related to the relationship between cognitive styles—such as field-dependent (FD), field-independent (FI), reflective, and impulsive—and students’ critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills in mathematics learning. The analysis results show that cognitive style has a significant influence on students’ thinking strategies, mathematical representations, and metacognitive abilities. Students with FI and reflective styles tend to think more analytically and systematically, while FD and impulsive students demonstrate strengths in cooperation and communication when provided with scaffolding support. Project-Based Learning (PjBL) and Problem-Based Learning (PBL) are found to be more effective when aligned with students’ individual cognitive styles. Furthermore, evaluation of logic-based educational programs and internal quality assurance systems is necessary to ensure adaptive and sustainable learning. Overall, understanding students’ cognitive styles is crucial for educators in designing flexible, reflective, and learner-centered teaching strategies to optimize higher-order thinking skills in the 21st-century education era, So it can be concluded that cognitive style can significantly influence students' thinking processes regarding thinking strategies and mathematical representation. Abstract

This research aims to determine the impact of the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) approach on the mathematics learning process on students' problem-solving abilities at various levels of education. This study is a literature review that collects and analyzes various studies related to the application of STEAM, which is often combined with project-based learning (PBL) and problem-based learning (PBL) models. The results of the study show that the implementation of STEAM consistently improves students' problem-solving skills significantly. Through STEAM, students are not only trained to solve problems mathematically, but also develop creativity, critical thinking, and the ability to collaborate and communicate in an interdisciplinary and authentic learning context. Digital learning media such as the Alef, Quizizz, and MONKABICO platforms, as well as STEAM-based digital worksheets, also support the effectiveness of learning. However, the study also found various limitations, such as limited sample coverage, short intervention time, variations in STEAM learning models, and uneven teacher and infrastructure readiness. It is recommended that future research focus on comparing the most effective STEAM learning models, developing comprehensive problem-solving measurement instruments, and conducting long-term research that considers the local context and student inclusivity. In conclusion, STEAM is a relevant and effective learning approach to improve students' problem-solving skills in mathematics, while preparing them for the 21st-century skills that are urgently needed in the era of globalization and the digitalization of education in the future.   Keywords: Mathematics, Problem Solving Skill, STEAM.
