Abstract

The highest leader, the principal, is legally able to decide on policies, make the proper choices, and positively affect teacher performance in order to foster a stimulating work environment. The study was carried out at SMA Negeri 3 Kayuagung. Researchers employed an inductive qualitative approach in this study to try to delve thoroughly into the principal’s policy at SMA Negeri 3 Kayuagung about teacher performance. Techniques for gathering data include observation, interviewing, and documenting. The quality approach used by analysis techniques comprises data reduction, data display, and conclusions. According to the study’s findings, policy decisions were made in response to identified issues, and funds were allocated to initiatives aimed at enhancing teachers’ performance through workshops on competency development and training. The principal oversees, monitors, evaluates, and tracks student progress using a teacher work evaluation framework.

Abstract

The primary determinant of the educational process at SMP Negeri 1 Kayuagung is the leadership of the principal. Through resource performance personnel, primarily instructors, leaders shape students. This study’s goal was to use qualitative descriptive methods and naturalistic observation to examine the principal’s leadership strategy for raising teacher performance standards. Both secondary and primary data are used as the sources for this study. As a result, to generate the best students, educational resources must be sufficiently superior, making it important for the principal to boost the caliber of educator performance.

Abstract

Higher education as one of the service providers in the field of education must be able to provide and create student satisfaction. Student satisfaction can be generated from the quality of services provided and the learning facilities provided which are directly related to the student teaching and learning process. This study applies a non-parametric statistical method through the analysis of the relationship with the spearman rank and the multivariate spearman rank which aims to examine whether the quality of academic services and learning facilities has a significant relationship either partially or jointly with student satisfaction at the Institute of Health Sciences and Technology Muhammadiyah Palembang. The population in this study is active students in the 2023/2024 academic year with a total of 1,530 people, and the number of samples taken is 153 students. Tools to collect data information using questionnaires that utilize the Likert scale. The results of the study showed that (1) the quality of academic services has a significant relationship with learning facilities and vice versa, (2) the quality of academic services has a significant relationship with student satisfaction, (3) learning facilities have a significant relationship with student satisfaction, (4) the quality of academic services and learning facilities together have a significant relationship with student satisfaction with a value of R2=0.868 with percent of 86.8%.

Abstract

The objectives of this study were to: 1) Investigate the effects of student engagement and teacher interpersonal communication on school well-being, 2) Analyze the specific impact of teacher interpersonal communication on school well-being, and 3) Evaluate the combined influence of both student engagement and teacher interpersonal communication on school well-being. The study focused on all 12th-grade students at SMK Negeri 4 Palembang, selecting a sample of 87 students from three classes: Class XII Machining, Class XII Computer Network Engineering, and Class XII Modeling and Building Information Design. A probability sampling technique, specifically simple random sampling, was employed. Data collection involved three scales: the School Well-being Scale, the Student Engagement Scale, and the Teacher Interpersonal Communication Scale. The collected data was then analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS 26.0. The results revealed that: 1) Both student engagement and teacher interpersonal communication have a significant influence on school well-being at SMK Negeri 4 Palembang, with an F-value of 28.118, exceeding the F-table value of 3.104, and an R-value of 0.633. 2) Student engagement shows a positive and highly significant impact on school well-being, with a t-value of 7.497, surpassing the t-table value of 1.708 (t-count > t-table). 3) Teacher interpersonal communication also has a positive and significant effect on school well-being, with a t-value of 5.258, higher than the t-table value of 1.708 (t-count > t-table).
