Abstract

Background: Child and adolescent obesity cases are estimated to reach 49.5 million cases worldwide by 2030. Nutrition education interventions to increase knowledge about healthy snacks in adolescents are important as a form of obesity prevention in adolescents. Healthy snacks quartet is an educational media that is carried out with a group game method so that adolescents feel comfortable in the learning process. Objective: To determine the effect of healthy snacks quartet education on knowledge and sodium intake in overweight early adolescents. Methods: This study is a quasi-experimental study with pre-posttest with control group design. The sample was purposively selected and 54 overweight adolescents were divided into a control group and two intervention groups. Education using healthy snacks quartet was conducted for 21 days from September to October 2023 in Makassar City. Data analysis was performed using Wilcoxon singed ranks test. Results: There was a significant difference in adolescent knowledge with a p-value <0.05 in P1 (p=0.001) and P2 (p=0.000). However, there was no significant difference in sodium intake variables both in the control group (p=0.948), P1 (p=0.170) and P2 (p=0.170).Conclusion: Education using healthy snacks quartet can increase knowledge about healthy snacks in overweight early adolescents but does not have a significant impact on sodium intake of overweight adolescents. Abstract

Management of temper tantrums in children with autism can be approached in various ways. A review of the literature indicates four effective approaches for addressing temper tantrums in autistic children: physiological, cognitive, interactional, and spiritual approaches. The physiological approach, in the form of hugging, has been shown to help manage temper tantrums. Furthermore, in relation to emotional regulation, an Islamic teaching suggests that changes in body position can help regulate anger. This study aims to examine the effect of hugging combined with body position adjustment on reducing temper tantrums in children with autism. The research employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. Five autistic children without comorbidities, aged 7–13 years, were selected through purposive non-random sampling. Data were collected using a temper tantrum questionnaire filled out by the subjects’ parents and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The analysis results showed a significant decrease in the posttest temper tantrum mean compared to the pretest mean (with negative ranks exceeding positive ranks and a significance level of 0.007 or p < 0.05). Likewise, a significant difference was found between the pretest and follow-up means (p = 0.002 or p < 0.05). These findings indicate that the intervention of hugging combined with body position adjustment effectively reduces temper tantrums in children with autism. Abstract

Although various sexual education media have been developed, the number of marriage dispensation applications continues to show a worrying upward trend. This indicates that the existing educational efforts have not been effective in preventing early marriage. Therefore, an innovative approach is needed to produce sexual education media that is more effective and comprehensive. This study aims to develop an alternative medium of child marriage prevention in Surakarta City in the form of Serat Widya Pramana-Based Sexual Education E-Comic. The research employed the Research and Development method, covering three out of five stages of the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development). The e-comic development was evaluated for its content, linguistic and media feasibility by experts and potential users. Additionally, pilot testing was conducted on a small-scale research subject using a Quasi-Experimental One-Group Pretest-Posttest design. The e-comic received a score of 68 (good) from the healthy reproduction material expert, 80 (good) from the literature expert, 96 (excellent) from the language experts, 90 (excellent) from the media experts, and 69.3 (good) from prospective users. Subsequently, pilot testing was carried out on 10 (4 females and 6 males) adolescents from SMK "X" Surakarta. Data analysis using the Paired Sample T-Test showed a significant increase in sexual knowledge (p=0.000, p<0.05) and a significant decrease in adolescents' intention toward early marriage (p=0.008, p<0.05). Therefore, the Sexual Education E-Comic Serat Widya Pramana is deemed suitable as an alternative medium for preventing early marriage in Surakarta City.

Abstract

Adolescent mental health, particularly depression, anxiety, and stress, has a high prevalence and significant impact on their development. Schools, as environments where most adolescents spend a considerable amount of time, hold significant potential in supporting their mental health. However, the availability of valid and effective measurement tools for assessing adolescent mental health in school settings remains limited. This study aims to identify the measurement tools used in school-based research for assessing adolescent mental health, as well as the approaches to data collection and interpretation. The review follows the PRISMA protocol and adopts Arksey and O'Malley’s methodology, including a comprehensive literature search across various databases and selection of articles that meet predefined inclusion criteria. A total of 1441 articles were identified, and 26 met the inclusion criteria for analysis. The results indicate that the most frequently used tools for measuring depression, anxiety, and stress in adolescents are the DASS-21, PHQ-9, CES-DC, GAD-7, and DQ5 with most studies utilizing Likert scales for assessments. Data collection was primarily self-reported by adolescents, with variations in questionnaire administration duration and measurement timeframes, and generally good internal consistency. These findings underscore the importance of selecting appropriate and reliable measurement tools to obtain valid and accurate data on adolescent mental health. The review offers critical insights for the development of more effective tools to support school-based mental health interventions

Abstract

The use of podcasts as KD cerpen learning medium for visually impaired studentsaims to obtain learning media that is valid, practical and easy to understand and can be used for learning. The research method for using podcasts uses the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model consists of several stages, namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation. The data collection technique uses a validation sheet given to four validators, including validators for the feasibility of content (substance), presentation, language and graphics and media which aims to assess learning media. The results of the study showed that the acquisition of a content eligibility validation score (substance) was 3.55; presentation validation, namely 4.05; language validation is 3.77 and graphical and media validation is 4.38. So the overall average score of validating the use of podcasts as a medium for short story BC learning is 3.93 with a valid category. Learning media that have been valid are then tested on users. The test subjects were 2 visually impaired studentsof class VII SLB Negeri Salatiga.
