Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the boarding school program at SMA Negeri 17 Makassar using the CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, Outcome) evaluation model. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the boarding school program emerged as a solution to the problems of discipline, lack of parental supervision, and the need for student character development. From the input aspect, the school has a dormitory supervisor, basic facilities, and a structured activity schedule, although the number of supervisors is still limited. The implementation process includes character development, daily routines, behavioral supervision, and academic development through evening study. From the product aspect, there was an increase in student discipline, behavior, learning motivation, and academic results. Meanwhile, from the outcome aspect, the program had a positive impact on independence, readiness for further learning, and a more conducive school culture. Overall, the boarding school program is effectively implemented but still requires improvements in aspects of supervision, facilities, and the variety of development activities

Abstract

Special education in Indonesia is implemented through two main models: Special Schools (SLB) as exclusive education and inclusive schools as integrative education. This study uses the CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, Outcome) approach to analyze special education policies in Indonesia and compare the effectiveness of the two models. The study results indicate that special education policies in Indonesia still have several weaknesses in terms of regulatory context, human resource input, implementation processes, curriculum products, and educational outcomes. Special Needs Schools offer a specific and intensive approach for children with special needs, while inclusive schools provide opportunities for broader social integration. Both models have their own strengths and challenges, requiring comprehensive policy strengthening, teacher capacity building, adequate infrastructure, and collaboration between the government, schools, and communities to ensure educational equality for all children with special needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational management of SMA Zion Makassar using the CIPPO evaluation model (Context, Input, Process, Product, Outcome). The model was chosen because it provides a comprehensive framework for assessing the effectiveness of school management from planning and implementation to outcomes and long-term impacts on students and society. The study employed a qualitative descriptive method with data obtained through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results indicate that in terms of context, SMA Zion Makassar possesses a strong vision and mission emphasizing Christian character formation and global competitiveness, supported by high community interest and parental involvement. Regarding input, the school’s human resources and facilities are adequate, although several teachers have not yet obtained professional certification. The process dimension shows well-structured learning activities with regular supervision and evaluation, beginning with daily worship as a distinctive feature of the institution. The product dimension reflects competitive academic and non-academic achievements, while the outcome dimension demonstrates that many graduates pursue higher education both domestically and abroad. The study concludes that SMA Zion Makassar has implemented effective educational management, yet further improvement is required in teacher professional development and diversification of funding sources

Abstract

This study evaluates the traditional curriculum of DDI Mangkoso Islamic Boarding School using the CIPPO (Context, Input, Process, Product, Outcome) approach to assess its contribution to shaping students’ holistic competence. Through observation and interviews, it was found that the curriculum based on classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning) and the sorogan-bandongan methods effectively cultivates religious character, discipline, and social competence in Islamic education. However, several 21st-century competencies still require development to better equip students for contemporary challenges. This research contributes to the development of adaptive pesantren curricula rooted in traditional values.

Abstract

The persistent inequality in educational services remains a fundamental issue that hinders the achievement of equitable education in Indonesia, particularly for vulnerable groups living in remote, disadvantaged, and impoverished areas. This condition necessitates the emergence of alternative educational approaches capable of reaching populations whose educational rights have not been adequately fulfilled through formal pathways. This study aims to conduct an in-depth exploration of the role of the Sekolah Rakyat (People’s School) Program as a form of community-based education initiated by civil society organizations in expanding learning access, increasing educational participation, and strengthening the sustainability of learning at the grassroots level. A qualitative approach with a multi-site design was employed, involving three Sekolah Rakyat located in West Java, Central Java, and South Sulawesi. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with facilitators, volunteers, learners, and community leaders, as well as through participatory observation and document analysis. The data were analyzed thematically through processes of reduction, categorization, and interpretation. The findings reveal that Sekolah Rakyat provides a more flexible and contextually relevant learning model aligned with the socio-economic conditions of local communities. The program offers alternative educational opportunities for school dropouts, child laborers, and adult learners who are unable to participate in formal education. Beyond expanding access, Sekolah Rakyat functions as a medium for community empowerment through active community involvement, multi-stakeholder collaboration, and continuous support from volunteer educators
