Abstract

This study aims to determine social interactions in cooperation and accommodation between Chinese and Malay ethnic groups in Sungai Bulan Village, Singkawang Utara. The method used in this study is descriptive-qualitative with data sourced from the community (primary data) and documentation (secondary information). This study's informants were six people from Chinese and Malay ethnic groups in Sungai Bulan Village, Singkawang Utara. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing are the data analysis techniques used. The validity of the research data was tested using extended observations and triangulation. The results of this study show that there is cooperation in the form of association, bargaining, and collaboration. In addition, there are also accommodations in the form of compromise, mediation, and tolerance between both ethnic groups. Based on the results, social interaction in the form of cooperation and capacity between Chinese and Malay ethnic groups in Sungai Bulan Village, Singkawang Utara, is going very well.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out how students are interested in learning about the subject of geography in class . The form of research used in this research is qualitative research with descriptive research methods. Data collection techniques in this research used observation, interviews and documentation methods. The data collection instruments used were observation sheets, documentation and interview guides. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model which consists of data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions. The research results show that class XI IIS students are interested in geography subjects. Students' interest in learning can be seen through 4 indicators, namely, feelings of happiness, students' attention, students' involvement, and students' willingness to learn. So students are said to be interested in geography subjects because they meet the four indicators of learning interest.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know how the interest of the students to study the subject of geography class XI IIS in MAN 1 Sintang, so that the teacher can find a solution to solve the problems felt by the students in their learning activities, so the students will gain success from their learning. The form of research used in this research is qualitative research with descriptive research methods. Data collection techniques in this study use observation, interview, and documentation methods. The data collection tools used are observation sheets, documentation and interview guidelines. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model that consists of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing. The results of the research showed that students of class XI IIS were interested in geography subjects. Students' interest in learning can be seen through 4 indicators, namely, the feeling of pleasure, the attention of the students, the involvement of students, and the willingness to learn the students. So students are said to be interested in geography subjects because they meet the four indicators of interest in learning.

Abstract

This article investigates multicultural education in Singkawang, Indonesia, where diverse ethnicities coexist. Rapid social changes often trigger ethnic migration, leading to a convergence of cultures. Ethnocentrism can impede inter-ethnic communication, fostering stereotypes and ethnic conflicts. Multicultural education, emphasizing democratic, humanistic, and pluralistic values, is proposed to address these issues. Singkawang, recognized for its ethnic diversity, serves as a unique case study. The research method involves qualitative analysis with interviews from students, teachers, and parents from various ethnic backgrounds. Findings revealed the city's friendly atmosphere, preserved harmony, and respectful behavior, especially among students. "Ngopi bareng" (coffee gathering) is identified as a key practice among adult localsstated by parents of students in maintaining multiculturalism. Schools also actively promote tolerance through democratic practices, curriculum diversity, and inclusive instructional strategies. The article concludes that multicultural education is vital in fostering acceptance, understanding, and appreciation of diversity, emphasizing the dynamic nature of this approach in shaping open-minded individuals in a diverse society. Further research is recommended to explore this topic's nuances.

Abstract

Abstract The unavailability of tertiary institutions, both public and private, in Rasau Jaya District, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan Province, has caused students to travel from Rasau Jaya District to Pontianak City and vice versa. This study aims to determine the factors of geographical location and accessibility, which influence the travel patterns of students living in the District of Rasau Jaya to commute. The method used is descriptive quantitative method, with 69 respondents. Data, obtained through questionnaires, were analyzed using descriptive methods. This study shows that location and accessibility factors affect the travel patterns of commuter students in the District of Rasau Jaya. The farthest distance taken by students to travel from their place of residence to the location of the college is 44 km with an estimated travel time of (30-120) minutes, and the mode of transportation used is a motorcycle. The majority of these motorcycle-using students spend more than IDR 15,000 per day to buy fuel for their vehicles. Keywords: commuting trip; geographic factor; location factor; accessibility factor; travel pattern Abstrak Belum tersedianya perguruan tinggi, baik negeri maupun swasta, di Kecamatan Rasau Jaya, Kabupaten Kubu Raya, Provinsi Kalimantan Barat, menyebabkan terjadinya perjalanan komuting mahasiswa dari Kecamatan Rasau Jaya menuju ke Kota Pontianak dan sebaliknya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan faktor-faktor geografis lokasi dan aksesibilitas, yang memengaruhi pola perjalanan mahasiswa yang tinggal di Kecamatan Rasau Jaya melakukan perjalanan komuting. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif deskriptif, dengan responden sebanyak 69 orang. Data yang diperoleh melalui kuesioner, dianalisis dengan metode deskriptif. Studi ini menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor lokasi dan aksesibilitas memengaruhi pola perjalanan mahasiswa komuter di Kecamatan Rasau Jaya. Jarak terjauh yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa untuk melakukan perjalanan dari tempat tinggal menuju ke lokasi perguruan tinggi adalah 44 km dengan estimasi waktu perjalanan (30-120) menit, dan moda kendaraan yang digunakan adalah sepeda motor. Mayoritas mahasiswa pengguna sepeda motor ini mengeluarkan uang lebih dari Rp15 ribu per hari untuk membeli bahan bakar untuk kendaraannya. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena masifnya praktik alih fungsi lahan pertanian menjadi lahan perkebunan yang terjadi di Desa Matang Segantar. Padahal dalam Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Kabupaten Sambas, Desa Matang Segantar adalah salah satu desa yang termasuk ke dalam Kawasan Peruntukan Pertanian Tanaman Pangan. Hal ini tentunya dapat mengancam keberlangsungan kegiatan pertanian yang ada di Desa Matang Segantar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kegiatan pertanian dari sudut pandang geografi. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi lapangan dan pengisian lembar isian identifikasi kelompok tani dan petani. Luas lahan pertanian yang dipetakan adalah 405,17 ha yang dikelola oleh 15 kelompok tani dengan pola distribusi keruangan mengelompok (hamparan). Sedangkan kegiatan pertanian didominasi oleh usahatani tanaman pangan. Infrastruktur yang tersedia berupa jalan usaha tani, jaringan irigasi semi teknis, pintu air. Jadwal tanam dan panen berdasarkan indeks pertanaman (IP) terdiri dari IP 100%, dan IP 200% dengan produktivitas antara 2,00 sampai 3,75 ton/ha dalam setahun

Abstract

This research is entitled Geographical Analysis of Temajuk Tourism Village Destinations. Temajuk Village is one of the villages in Sambas Regency with enormous potential in the tourism sector, so Temajuk Village was developed into a tourist village. Temajuk is set to become a tourist village on August 9, 2021, regulated in Keputusan Bupati Sambas Number 443/DISPARPORA/2021. Apart from the potential, the development of the Temajuk Tourism Village is also seen from the geographical factors that influence it. This study uses qualitative methods with descriptive analysis. The data sources for this research are research objects in the Temajuk Tourism Village and the data are the results of field observations and the results of interviews with village heads, managers, and visitors. The results of this study indicate that geographical factors play a significant role in the development of Temajuk Village to become a tourism village. These factors include location, distance, affordability, agglomeration, pattern, morphology, usability value, interaction, area differentiation, and spatial linkages. Besides that, the condition of tourism objects in Temajuk Village is quite good and the facilities are also quite good, but there are still some that are inadequate.

Abstract

A study on household soy tempeh industry in Rasau Jaya Subdistrict, Kubu Raya Regency aims to determine the distribution pattern of soy tempeh household industry locations. This research utilizes the Nearest Neighbor Analysis method and a quantitative descriptive approach with data collection through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research findings indicate that the nearest neighbor analysis with a calculated t-value of 0.600 concludes that soy tempeh household industries tend to cluster in certain areas of Rasau Jaya Subdistrict. Factors such as settlement location and geographical aspects, especially the ease of access to raw materials and marketing, influence this distribution pattern. Industrial locations are chosen based on the ease of access to primary raw materials, namely soybeans, obtained from Rasau Raya Traditional Market and Flamboyan Market. Labor employed in this industry operates on a piece-rate system, where workers are compensated based on the completed tasks. The majority of soy tempeh product marketing targets local markets within the village, indicating a focus on the local market in the area. Only a small proportion expands beyond the village but remains within the same district. Thus, the household soy tempeh industry in Rasau Jaya Subdistrict is supported by a clustered distribution pattern influenced by geographical factors, accessibility to raw materials, and a marketing strategy focused on the local market.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penerapan model Contextual Teaching and Learning dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMPN 1 Silat Hulu Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu. Menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan bentuk penelitian kuasi eksperimen. Sampel penelitian yaitu peserta didik kelas VIII B dan VIII C. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik penilaian dan teknik studi dokumenter, dengan berupa tes hasil belajar pretest dan posttest, serta dokumentasi penelitian. Hasil temuan penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 75,92, sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 59,14 dengan selisih nilai sebesar 16,78 artinya terdapat perbedaan yang cukup signifikan pada hasil belajar. Pada uji normalitas nilai signifikansi pada kelas eksperimen yaitu sig 126>0,05 pada kelas kontrol yaitu sig 181>0,05, sehingga diartikan bahwa data berdistribusi normal. Selanjutnya uji hipotesis nilai sig (2-tailed) yaitu 0,000<0,05 yang berarti Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima sehingga terdapat efektivitas pada penerapan model CTL. Pada hasil uji effect size sebesar 1,48>0,08 yang tergolong kategori tinggi. Hasil menunjukkan penerapan model CTL dalam pembelajaran IPS di SMPN 1 Silat Hulu Kabupaten Kapuas Hulu tergolong tinggi dan efektif untuk digunakan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami bagaimana dukungan keluarga memengaruhi minat mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPS FKIP UNTAN untuk menjadi guru IPS. Metode penelitian yang diterapkan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dalam bentuk korelasi. Sampel terdiri dari 81 mahasiswa prodi Pendidikan IPS angkatan 2020, 2021, dan 2022 yang dipilih secara acak menggunakan teknik simple random sampling dan diukur melalui kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Temuan dari penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa tingkat dukungan keluarga secara keseluruhan pada mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPS FKIP UNTAN adalah 64,2%, yang masuk dalam kategori dukungan keluarga sedang. Sementara minat mahasiswa untuk menjadi guru IPS secara keseluruhan adalah 69,1%, yang juga masuk dalam kategori minat sedang. Penelitian juga menemukan adanya hubungan signifikan antara dukungan keluarga dan minat menjadi guru IPS pada mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPS FKIP UNTAN (p = 0,000 < 0,05). Korelasi antara keduanya sebesar 0,822, yang menunjukkan hubungan sangat kuat. Hal ini menegaskan pentingnya peran dukungan keluarga dalam membentuk minat mahasiswa untuk menjadi guru IPS.
