Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of teachers in pre-learning, during learning, and post-learning in the social studies learning process in class VIII during the COVID-19 pandemic at MTs Negeri 1 Pontianak. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data sourced from social studies teachers and class VIII students. The data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that the role of teachers in pre-learning was carried out in the form of gathering phone numbers and creating WhatsApp groups; ensuring the availability of smartphones and internet connection; using online learning media applications, informing lesson schedules; making lesson plans; and ensuring both parents/guardians and students support online learning. The role of the teacher during learning is carried out in the form of checking the students’ attendance, reading prayers, delivering material, and providing opportunities for students to ask questions and express opinions. Lastly, the role of the teacher in post-learning is to check the students’ tasks, remind students to collect assignments, and provide feedback in the form of appreciation for student tasks.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to determine the relationship of parents' education level with social studies learning achievement in class VIII at SMP Negeri 7 Sungai Raya. This research uses a quantitative approach with this type of research is ex post facto research. The population of this study was 138 students. How to take samples using the formula Isaac and Michael with an error rate of 10% to obtain 46 Responden. The sampling technique is done randomly (Simple Random Sampling). The variables studied were Parental Education Level (X) with Social Studies Learning Achievement (Y). Data collection uses questionnaires and documentation. Instrument validation uses expert judgment and reliability with internal consistency using the Cronbach Alpha Technique. The analysis technique used is Product Moment Correlation. Based on the analysis of the data the researchers conducted, it was concluded that: 1) The level of education of parents of Kalas VIII had a moderate category with the data acquisition of 31 students (67.4%) in that category, 2) Learning achievement of social studies subjects was obtained by 27 students ( 58.7%) students have moderate achievement. 3) The magnitude of the Relationship between Parents' Education Level and Social Studies Learning Achievement in VIII grade of SMP Negeri 7 Sungai Raya is strongly correlated, with a significance level of 5%, r values greater than r tables (0.654> 0.291). Abstract

Abstract This research aims to determine whether there are differences in average learning outcomes in classes using Google Earth media with classes that use Power Point media at Senior High School 10 Pontianak. Participants in this study were class XI IPS 3 and class XI IPS 2. The method in this research was the experimental method. The form of research was quasi experimental design, namely nonequevalent control group design. Based on research calculations, there is an increase in average learning outcomes in classes using Google Earth media and classes using Power Point media. The average learning outcomes of classes using Google Earth media amounted to 85.63 and on classes using Power Point media amounted to 80.00. Based on the calculation of separated variance formula, it is known that tcount is 2.57 while ttable is 1.65, it was concluded that there are differences in learning outcomes in classes using Google Earth media and classes using Power Point media in class XI of Senior High School 10 Pontianak. Based on the Effect Size calculation, the value of 0.65 means that Google Earth media has a moderate effect on learning outcomes in class XI of Senior High School 10 Pontianak. Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of study was to find the result of learning model application of Talking Stick learning model in social science for grade 8th students of SMP Negeri 23 Pontianak.The method used in study was Experiments with of the Quasi Experimental Design and Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The study sample was 67 students. Data collection techniques are through observation, measurement, and documentary study. Data collection tool used learning result test and observation sheet. The result using Talking Stick learning model on social studies the average  of 79.435 and the average  of 75.887 using conventional learning models on social studies grade 8th. The results of the t-test using Indenpenden Samples Test (-1.905<2.000) are in the reception area Ho. Student learning outcomes there was no difference between the learning model of talking stick and conventional models. The results of the average score of the first and second post-test meetings in the experimental class and control there were differences. So was not significant difference between learning result of students experiment using learning model talking stick and using conventional model. The effect size of the talking stick learning model on social science learning, grade 8th amounted to 0.452 in the medium category.Keywords: Learning Result, Social Science Learning, Talking Stick Learning Model

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to identify and determine development strategies that can be carried out on tourism potential in Gunung Sembilan Village. This research is a descriptive type of research with a qualitative research form. Sources of research data on tourism development strategies in Gunung Sembilan Village are in the form of documents, archives, and other records that strengthen the picture of the situation through visual language. Data collection techniques are observation and interviews. The results of this study are (1) the distribution of potential and identification of tourism potential, both natural tourism and cultural tourism in Gunung Sembilan Village (2) The condition of tourism potential in terms of accessibility is good. This is because the distance between one potential and another is close, but there are still some access roads that are still not good to use or pass. (3) The strategy that can be done is the SO strategy, which is to take advantage of existing opportunities and then add various supporting facilities and various additional attractions to attract tourists. Community involvement is very necessary so that this strategy can run well and make the development carried out run smoothly.Keyword: identification, strategy, tourism potential

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to determine effect of Problem Based Learning models on learning outcomes in learning geography in class XI IPS Senior High School 5 Pontianak. The research method used is a quantitative research method. The research instrument used was a test instrument in the form of multiple choice questions, and a non-test instrument in the form of an interview guide. The results showed that there was a positive influence on the application of the model of problem based learning to student learning outcomes in geography subjects, especially the dynamics of Indonesian population class XI IPS SMA Negeri 5 Pontianak in the form of an increase in average grade grades. This is based on the results of hypothesis testing namely the value of Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.019. So, Ho is rejected or Ha is accepted, because the value of Sig. t-test (2-tailed) which is 0.019 <0.05. The conclusion obtained is that there are differences in student learning outcomes by applying the Problem Based Learning learning model to geographical subjects, especially the material on Indonesian population dynamics using conventional methods.Keywords: Problem Based Learning Model, Geography Learning Outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThis research was to found out to improving IPS learning outcome through Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model at class VIII A SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Sungai Raya. The design of this research was classroom action research with 2 cycles. Each cycle consisted of four stages, including planning implementation, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The research method was descriptive method. The subject of this research was 23 students at class VIII A. Data collection was conducted with direct observation technique, learning outcome measurement, and documentary of study. The tool of data collection used in this research was learning outcome test and observation sheet. The result finding showed that the level of success in learning that was determined by 75% but the implementation of Numbered Head Together (NHT) cooperative learning model at cycle I was not optimal because the level of success only reached 72%. Therefore at cycle II, it was optimal because the level of success was 100%. The mean score in post-test at cycle I and cycle II improved about 15.66%. The percentage of learning mastery in post-test at cycle I and cycle II improved about 21.74%. Keywords: Numbered Head Together, Learning Outcome, IPS

Abstract

AbstractThis study is to determine the effect of the school learning environment on student learning outcomes in social studies subjects in class VII in Pontianak 12 Public Middle School. The method used is descriptive in the form of quantitative research. The research sample consisted of class VII, the data in the form of a learning environment questionnaire at school. The results showed that the factors included in the school learning environment were teacher factors, physical environment, non physical or social environment, the most dominant factor being the physical environment with a percentage of 67%. The second problem formulation of 64 student learning outcomes is not complete in social studies because teacher teaching is not interesting, teacher and student relations are not good, student and friend relations are not good, this is supported by data analysis on teacher factor Summary Model, social environment or non physical. Based on the data analysis, the regression equation obtained is determination coefficient of 0.103, with a percentage of 10.3%, Adjusted R Square of 0.064 contributions of the influence of the school learning environment on student learning outcomes by 64%, while 36% is influenced by other factors not possessed by social studies. Keyword:  Social Studies Subjects, School Learning Environment, Student Learning Outcomes

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to determine how the use of smartphones affected the learning outcomes of students in social science subject at Mujahidin Middle School Pontianak. This research used quantitative approach with the form being correlation research. The population of this research consisted of all students of class VII Mujahidin Middle School Pontianak, namely 31 students and the sample taken in this research was the entire population sampled. The variables studied were Smartphone Usage (X) and Social Science Subject Learning Outcomes (Y). Based on the data analysis that the researcher conducted, it was concluded that: 1) The use of students' smartphones at Mujahidin Middle School Pontianak obtained the results with the most category, namely 22 (71.0%) students had the moderate category. 2) The learning outcomes of social science subject at Mujahidin Middle School Pontianak seen from the Standard of Minimum Completeness (KKM, namely 70) indicated that 7 (22.58%) students were categorized as complete and 24 (77.42%) students were categorized as incomplete. 3) Based on Simple Linear Regression Analysis, the effect of using smartphone on student learning outcomes was obtained by the equation 62.178 + 0.153X, which meant the constant value was 62.178. The regression coefficient value of the Smartphone Usage variable was positive, namely 0.153. The magnitude of the effect of smartphone use on learning outcomes based on the results of the determination test was 12.9% while the remaining 87.1% was affected by other factors which were not examined in this research.Keywords: Use of Smartphones, Learning Outcomes
