Abstract

The growth of the global tourism sector is closely tied to the increasing prominence of culinary tourism, which serves as both an economic driver and a medium for cultural preservation. In recent years, culinary destinations have actively promoted themselves through modern restaurants inspired by traditional architecture and regional cuisines. This trend reflects a structured commercial approach to sustaining cultural values while enhancing destination appeal. This study explores marketing strategies centered on traditional cultural attractions, including architectural heritage and local gastronomy that embody regional identity. A qualitative content analysis method was employed by examining promotional content and customer reviews published on Google Business Profiles. The units of analysis were selected purposively from culinary destinations known for their popularity and cultural representation. The findings reveal a new typology of digital marketing strategies rooted in local culture and storytelling. These strategies have proven effective in attracting tourists, increasing digital engagement, and strengthening destination competitiveness within the culinary tourism landscape. Furthermore, the study highlights the importance of collaboration among business owners, local communities, and digital platforms in fostering sustainable tourism growth. The research contributes to the development of culturally grounded tourism marketing models that can be adapted to various regional contexts across Indonesia. The study also provides practical insights for policymakers and tourism practitioners in designing integrated marketing strategies that align with sustainability principles.

Abstract

Ciherang Village, located in Nagreg District, Bandung Regency, West Java, has strong potential for the development of sustainable agricultural educational tourism, supported by its natural, cultural, and socio-economic resources. However, this potential has not been optimally developed due to limited coordination among stakeholders and uneven readiness in adopting educational technology. This study aims to analyze the roles and positions of stakeholders in developing agricultural educational tourism in Ciherang Village by integrating an educational technology perspective through the pentahelix approach. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving key stakeholders, including local government officials, tourism awareness groups (Pokdarwis), community members, business actors, academics, and media. The data were analyzed narratively and organized into matrices to examine stakeholder involvement, roles, responsibilities, and readiness in utilizing educational technology, including infrastructure and digital literacy. The findings indicate that effective collaboration among stakeholders is essential for strengthening agricultural educational tourism development. The use of educational technologies, such as digital applications, QR codes, social media, and AR/VR-based content, enhances visitors’ learning experiences and improves the competitiveness of the tourism village. Nevertheless, challenges remain, particularly related to infrastructure limitations and disparities in technological capacity. This study provides insights for developing innovative and sustainable agricultural educational tourism through multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Abstract

Abstract

Marine ecotourism in Bali is vital for integrating environmental conservation, cultural preservation, and community empowerment. Despite its potential, sustainability efforts face significant challenges, including coral reef degradation, coastal erosion, marine pollution, and gaps in policy implementation. This study aims to evaluate the application of the Tri Hita Karana philosophy as a holistic framework to address these challenges in Bali’s marine ecotourism sector. A literature review method was used, synthesizing peer-reviewed studies, government reports, and case examples from major ecotourism sites such as Nusa Penida and Perancak Mangrove Forest. The results demonstrate that the Tri Hita Karana philosophy effectively integrates ecological, social, and cultural dimensions. Successful initiatives include coral reef restoration and community-based conservation programs that enhance biodiversity and support local economies. However, challenges such as inconsistent policy enforcement, visitor overcapacity, and infrastructure pressures remain significant. This study concludes that adaptive management strategies, including capacity assessments, collaborative governance, and technology integration, are essential to ensure the long-term sustainability of marine ecotourism in Bali. The findings contribute to the global discourse on sustainable tourism, offering Tri Hita Karana as a model adaptable to other culturally rich and ecologically sensitive regions.

Abstract

Communication between pilots and air traffic controllers (ATC) in the aviation sector is supported by a standardized language system known as phraseology, particularly through the use of fixed phrases established by the ICAO. This study focuses on analyzing the formulation of fixed phrase phraseology in ATC communication from an applied linguistics perspective. The research aims to contribute significantly to the understanding of technical language within the aviation context and to enhance professional communication practices in support of optimal flight safety. Using a qualitative approach through a case study conducted at AirNav Indonesia (JATSC), data were collected via interviews, direct observations, and literature reviews. The main findings reveal that fixed phrases play a crucial role in delivering instructions quickly, clearly, and unambiguously, especially in critical or emergency situations. The applied linguistic analysis indicates that sentence structures in phraseology are formulaic and imperative in nature, designed to minimize the risk of communication errors. Furthermore, continuous training for ATC personnel is identified as a key factor in ensuring the accurate and context-appropriate use of phraseology. Adjustments to fixed phrases may occur in exceptional situations, yet these modifications are made without compromising clarity of meaning. This study underscores the importance of phraseology as a form of technical communication that prioritizes safety within the global aviation system.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This Systematic Literature Review (SLR) analyzes research trends in Educational Tourism (2019–2024) by applying Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory (ELT) framework. The study specifically investigates how the Educational Tourism approach supports the principles of Sustainable Tourism and its positioning in addressing the complex issue of Climate Change. Methodology: The research employed an SLR supported by bibliometric analysis and thematic synthesis of 447 Scopus-indexed articles. The ELT framework (comprising Concrete Experience, Reflective Observation, Abstract Conceptualization, and Active Experimentation) was used as a conceptual lens to test the balance of thematic focus across the literature. Main Findings: The analysis revealed a systemic imbalance within the literature. While the Abstract Conceptualization and Concrete Experience stages show strong documentation, the Reflective Observation is the most minimally discussed theme (65.55%). This gap indicates that current research tends to bypass the critical evaluation process, thus failing to methodologically validate the internal mechanism required to link direct experience to lasting sustainable behavior. This methodological weakness hinders the sector's ability to effectively tackle complex, large-scale issues like Climate Change and Environmental Protection. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study contributes by being the first to systematically apply the ELT framework to diagnose the thematic maturity of Educational Tourism, explicitly identifying Reflective Observation as the most critical theoretical and methodological gap.
