Abstract

THE GREAT RESIGNATION PHENOMENON IN THE ISLAMIC EDUCATION SECTOR: ITS IMPACT ON THE QUALITY OF TEACHERS AND QUALITY-BASED TALENT MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES This study examines the phenomenon of the great resignation in the Islamic education sector as a structural problem that affects the quality of educators and the sustainability of institutional quality. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors driving educator resignations, their impact on the stability and quality of learning, and to emphasize the urgency of implementing quality-based talent management strategies in Islamic educational institutions. The study adopts a qualitative approach using a case study design conducted at MTs Darul Jannah Muara Burnai 2. Data collection techniques include semi-structured in-depth interviews with the principal, permanent teachers, honorary teachers, former teacher and administrative staff, complemented by non-participant observation and document analysis. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis through the stages of data reduction, categorization, data display, and interpretative conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that educator resignations are triggered by structural weaknesses in human resource management, such as imbalances between workload and welfare, the absence of clear career pathways, and weak systems of reward and professional development. These conditions lead to declining staff stability and educator quality, weakening motivation and organizational commitment, and hindering the development of a quality culture. This study underscores the importance of transforming human resource management toward quality-based talent management that emphasizes welfare, organizational justice, and the long-term professional sustainability of educators.

Abstract

Abstract

Harmonization between formal recognition and charismatic legitimacy is crucial to addressing the challenges of educator retention, in order to ensure the sustainability of professional human resource management without neglecting the traditional values ??and spirituality typical of the Islamic boarding school environment. This study aims to analyze a unique and effective Employee Value Proposition (EVP) strategy in Islamic boarding schools to improve the retention of qualified educators, especially amidst the increasing demands for professionalism that prioritize formal qualifications. Using a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews with Kyai, administrators, and educators from various.. Data analysis using interactive models and data examination using triangulation. The results show that the EVP at Darussalam Blokagung Islamic Boarding School is effective through a dual-factor harmonization model. This strategy balances Formal Recognition with Charismatic Legitimacy as the Essential Motivating Factors for retention. Harmonization is supported by EVP Segmentation and the role of Harmonious Alumni, which binds core talent to spiritual commitment. This redefines retention in value-based institutions by combining external professionalism and internal charismatic authority. This research contribution offers a conceptual model of the Dual-Factor EVP of Islamic Boarding Schools that harmoniously integrates the values ??of spirituality (charisma) and local culture (khidmah) into a contemporary Human Resource Management framework, providing practical and strategic guidance for community-based educational institutions to manage and retain superior talent amidst value disruption and intense competition.

Abstract

As the demands of vocational education globalization and the international industry’s need for competitive graduates continue to rise, the independent implementation of National Education Standards is deemed insufficient to fully ensure adaptive and sustainable quality management, particularly in vocational high schools operating as Regional Public Service Agencies. This study aims to critically examine and evaluate the implementation of the Hybrid Quality Management Model as an integrated approach that combines National Education Standards with international quality management principles based on ISO 9001:2015 in the quality management of vocational education at vocational high schools. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, this research collected data from key informants, including school principals, quality assurance teams, teachers, Regional Public Service Agency administrators, and industry partners through in-depth interviews, observation of quality assurance processes, and analysis of official documents, with data validity ensured through triangulation and thematic analysis.  The research findings reveal the existence of two distinct quality assurance practices: compliance with National Education Standards, which focuses on administrative compliance, and process-based quality management aligned with ISO 9001:2015, as evidenced by the implementation of standard operating procedures, ongoing internal audits, and corrective action mechanisms. This study contributes novelty to the literature on educational quality management by proposing the Hybrid Quality Management Model as a new conceptual approach that systematically positions international quality management principles as structural reinforcements of the National Education Standards, rather than merely as supplements or parallel systems.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and develop a Digital Quality Management (DQM) framework for Islamic Educational Institutions to improve the quality of e-learning while strengthening the internalization of religious values. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was obtained through in-depth interviews with research subjects, including leaders of Islamic educational institutions, heads of curriculum departments, e-learning managers, teachers and students, participant observation, and documentation of policies, quality guidelines, academic reports, and digital archives. Data analysis followed the interactive model of Miles and Huberman, including reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing, with validity ensured through triangulation of sources, methods, and observers. The results of the study formulated four pillars of digital quality management: the integration of uswah hasanah values in cyber risk management, the role of tafaqquh fiddin as a digital literacy strategy for students, the “sunnah fasting-based independent time audit” model for device self-regulation, and the effectiveness of “double certification” in ensuring teacher academic integrity. This research contributes practical operational guidelines for Islamic schools to ensure that technology functions as a reinforcement of religious identity, not merely as an administrative tool. Overall, this digital quality management framework holistically integrates the dimensions of technology, quality management, and Islamic values to address digital transformation in Islamic educational institutions.
