The purpose of this research was to examine the effectiveness of an information service by using a scientific approach to prevent student cyber-bullying. The research method used was a quantitative research with the true experiment design pretest-posttest group design. The research sample consisted of 30 students for the experimental group and 30 students for the control group taken by using a proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistical analysis and non-parameteric statistics using the Kolmogorov Smirnov 2 Independent Sample analysis technique. The results of this research prove that the information service by using a scientific approach is effective in preventing student cyber-bullying.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of group-based self-instruction techniques in reducing off-task behavior among elementary school students. Off-task behavior, such as talking out of turn, daydreaming, and inattention, remains a common issue that can hinder the learning process. This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a non-equivalent control group design. A total of 40 sixth-grade students participated in the study, consisting of 20 students in the experimental group and 20 students in the control group. The results indicated that the experimental group showed a significant reduction in off-task behavior after the intervention, while the control group did not demonstrate a significant change. Furthermore, post-test comparisons revealed that the experimental group had a lower level of off-task behavior than the control group. In practical terms, the difference in mean scores suggests that the intervention had a strong effect on reducing off-task behavior. In conclusion, group-based self-instruction techniques are effective in reducing off-task behavior and improving student engagement in the classroom.

Abstract

Gender equality is still a target for countries that are members of the SDGs, including Indonesia. Efforts to improve gender equality are mainly through education, both family education and school education. Gender responsive education has been carried out in Indonesia and has become a target for sustainable development with the SDGs program, which is targeted to be achieved by 2030. Various phenomena of gender inequality are still encountered in society. This shows that there are problems in the perception and application of gender equality. One of the efforts to give birth to justice and gender equality is through education. Therefore, this article aims to explain the concept of gender and gender equality and then gender equality education.

Abstract

The behavior of school guidance counselors in providing their services is interesting to be studied from angles of sociological disciplines. An individual's behavior or actions have meaning for themselves and others. This study aimed to examine the actions of school guidance counselors in counseling activities based on the perspective of the social action concept. The research was library research. Precisely, it was a Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The SLR procedure follows the steps proposed by Francis and Baldesari. The process was conducted by collecting Guidance and Counseling articles from journals, proceedings, etc. The articles were limited based on the Guidance and Counseling program implementation criteria and suitability for the study focus. The study results revealed four types of actions that the school guidance counselors did in the counseling activities based on the perspective of the social action concept. First, based on the problem and cooperating factors, there was instrumental rational action. Second, based on belief or religious factors, there was value-oriented action. Third, based on empathy and comfort factors, there was affective action. Fourth, based on habit factors, there was traditional action.

Abstract

University students frequently experience existential concerns alongside subclinical psychological distress, including reduced meaning in life, depression, and anxiety. Meaning-centered group counseling based on logotherapy has been proposed as a preventive intervention; however, evidence for young adult populations remains limited. This study employed a Systematic Literature Review with Network Analysis (SLNA) conducted in accordance with the PRISMA 2020 guidelines to examine the effectiveness and research landscape of meaning-centered group counseling for university students. A systematic search of the Scopus database (2015-2025) identified five controlled studies (N = 206) involving group-based logotherapy interventions for individuals aged 18-25 years. Meaning in life was the primary outcome, while depression, anxiety, and stress were secondary outcomes. Due to heterogeneity, data were synthesized using SWiM guidelines and complemented by a bibliometric keyword co-occurrence analysis of 47 Scopus-indexed articles using VOSviewer. The results indicate consistent and significant improvements in meaning in life (p < 0.05) with large effect sizes, accompanied by reductions in psychological distress. These findings support meaning-centered group counseling as an effective preventive intervention in university counseling settings.
