Abstract

Tilapia fish (Oreochromis niloticus) is a freshwater fish that has very high economic value. An important factor in cultivating tilapia is feed nutrition. The nutritional content needed to meet fish needs consists of protein, fat, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. . The quality of feed depends on the type of raw material used to meet the nutritional needs of fish. One of the raw materials that has the potential to be used as raw material for fish feed is Eucheuma cottoni seaweed. which contains minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, iron, zinc, iodine, as well as vitamin C and vitamin E. However, the problem with seaweed is the high carbohydrate content which causes the high fiber content. One way to reduce the fiber content is through the fermentation process. The success of the fermentation process is also determined by the type of fermenter used. Fermenter, EM-4 (Effective Microorganisms). is one of the fermenters that is widely used because it contains microorganisms. This research used tilapia fish seeds, carried out for 50 days in the laboratory. The method used in this research was a completely randomized design (CRD) method using 4 treatments and 3 repetitions, namely treatment P1: without the addition of EM-4 (control), treatment P2: addition of E. cottonii seaweed with 2 ml EM-4, P3: addition of E. cottonii seaweed with 4 ml EM-4, P4: addition of E. cottonii seaweed with 6 ml EM-4. The parameters tested in this study were absolute weight growth, specific growth rate, absolute length, feed conversion ratio, feed utilization efficiency and survival of tilapia and water quality. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) at a confidence level of 95%. The research results showed that the addition of E.cottonii seaweed flour could increase the absolute weight, absolute length and survival of tilapia with the average absolute weight of tilapia during rearing ranging from 7.41 ̶ 7.65 g, absolute length ranging from 4.95 ̶ 5.1 cm, The specific growth rate ranges between 2,147 ̶ 2,203 %/day, with a feed conversion ratio ranging between 1.31 ̶ 1.57 and feed utilization efficiency ranging between 75.97 ̶ 81.09 %, and tilapia survival ranging between 53.3 ̶ 76.7 %. Water quality during maintenance is still within the normal range for tilapia cultivation, namely temperature ranging between 27.2 ̶ 29.7 ºC, pH ranging between 7.4 ̶ 8.6 and DO ranging between 5.5 ̶ 6.6 mg/l.

Abstract

One way to minimize the fiber content and maximize the other nutritional content in seaweed can be done through the fermentation process. This research aims to analyze the effect of substitution of fermented sea grape (Caulerpa racemosa) flour in tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) feed formulations. The research was carried out at the Fish Production and Reproduction Laboratory, Mataram University for 50 days from March - May 2022. The research used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely control (P1), fermented sea grape flour 4% dose (P2), fermented sea grape flour 8% dose (P3), and fermented sea grape flour 12% dose (P4). Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncan's advanced test. The research results showed that the average absolute weight of tilapia ranged from 9.43-11.58 g/fish, absolute length ranged from 2.24-2.90 cm/fish, Specific Growth Rate (LPS) ranged from 2.36-2, 64%/day, Feed Utilization Efficiency (EPP) ranges from 76.8-95.8%, Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) ranges from 1.05-1.31 and Survival Rate (SR) ranges from 90-97%. The addition of fermented C. racemosa sea grape flour concentration can affect the absolute weight of tilapia, but does not affect absolute length, specific growth rate, FCR, EPP and SR values. The addition of C. racemosa sea grape flour fermented with Lactobacillus casei and Saccharomyces cerevisiae to a concentration of 4% (P2) gave the best results because it could increase the absolute weight of tilapia by 11.58 g/fis.sea grapes

Abstract

Desa Gerupuk merupakan wilayah di Kabupaten Lombok Tengah yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah sebagai salah satu kawasan minapolitan sebagai sektor unggulan perikanan dan industri. Salah satu komoditas unggulan yang dominan disana adalah rumput laut. Kelimpahan sumber daya rumput laut di Dusun Gerupuk masih belum dimanfaatkan dengan baik oleh masyarakat setelah melakukan panen. Kebanyakan rumput laut yang dipanen hanya dilakukan proses pengeringan dan dijual dalam bentuk kering. Adanya keterbatasan pengetahuan dan belum adanya transfer teknologi merupakan salah satu faktor yang menyebabkan sehingga meningkatnya pengembangan budidaya rumput laut belum memberikan peluang usaha yang dapat meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat di Dusun Gerupuk. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah melakukan program holistik pembinaan diversifikasi olahan rumput laut berupa “rengginang rumput laut´ sebagai olahan khas guna meningkatkan nilai tambah serta produktivitas rumput laut di dusun Gerupuk. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan metode sosialisasi langsung atau ceramah dialogis yang diikuti dengan pelatihan pembuatan rengginang. Adapun tahapan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini meliputi perencanaan dan persiapan, pelaksanaan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Tingkat pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dapat dilihat melalui proses kegiatan pelatihan secara mandiri. Secara keseluruhan terlihat bahwa pemahaman serta keterampilan peserta saat brainstorming terhadap pembuatan rengginang rumput laut secara terukur sekitar 50% mengalami peningkatan menjadi 88% setelah mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan. Berdasarkan hal ini maka dapat dikatakan bahwa kegiatan yang telah dilaksanakan dapat berjalan lancar dan mencapai target tujuan dari pelaksanaan kegiatan

Abstract

Sea urchins are a highly nutritious and economically valuable fishery product. In West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), particularly in Lombok, the public is still largely unaware of the benefits and market value of sea urchins in international markets such as Japan and Korea. Sea urchin gonads are consumed by Koreans and Japanese, and their high nutritional content is believed to improve health performance. However, there are obstacles in the sea urchin market development is the lack of proper standard operating procedures in post-harvest handling. Appropriate and standardized post-harvest techniques are not yet widely known or disseminated among sellers and sea urchin business actors. Prima Nusantara Cooperative is one of the cooperatives that supplies fishery products, including sea urchins, to exporting companies. Based on this, the current community service activity was conducted at Prima Nusantara Cooperative in East Lombok, targeting the cooperative staff. The aim is to provide both theoretical socialization and hands-on training to enhance the staff’s knowledge and skills in post-harvest handling of sea urchins. Through this technical guidance, it is expected that the quality of sea urchin products sold to exporters will improve and be more competitive in the Japanese and Korean markets. The method used during the technical training included presentation of materials on proper sea urchin handling procedures, followed by field practice involving sea urchin sampling, hands-on demonstrations, and direct mentoring through each stage of the process. The post-harvest handling stages included harvesting (collection), cleaning, shell breaking, rinsing, weighing, packaging, and storage at low temperatures.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of substitution of C. racemosa fermented sea grape flour in the feed formulation on tilapia. This research was conducted at the Laboratory of Fish Production and Reproduction, University of Mataram for 50 days from March-May 2022. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments tested were control (P1), 4% fermented sea grape flour (P2), 8% fermented sea grape flour (P3), and 12% fermented sea grape flour (P4). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) at 5% level with 95% confidence interval and continued with Duncan's test. The results showed that the average absolute weight of fish for 50 days of rearing mass with artificial feeding and at various concentrations of fermented C. racemosa sea grape flour ranged from 9.43-11.58 g, absolute length ranged from 2.24-2 .90 cm, and the specific growth rate ranged from 2.36 to 2.64%/day. Then for the efficiency of feed utilization (EPP ranges from 76.8-95.8%, feed conversion ratio (FCR) ranges from 1.05-1.31 and survival (SR) ranges from 90-97%. Conclusions from this study that the addition of the concentration of fermented C. racemosa sea grape flour can affect the absolute weight of tilapia, but does not affect the absolute length, specific growth rate, FCR value, feed efficiency, and survival rate. 4% (P2) gave the best result because it could increase the absolute weight of tilapia by 11.58 g

Abstract

The addition of moringa leaf extract is one way to increase the production of vaname vaname shrimp farming. Moringa leaves are considered as feed supplements because they contain active compounds that are beneficial for shrimp growth. This study aims to analyze the growth of shrimp vaname on feeding supplemented with moringa leaf extract. The method used in this study is an experimental method using a complete randomized design (RAL) with 4 treatments and 3 repetitions.  Shrimp used is the size of PL 25 and maintained for 50 days parameters measured include absolute weight, absolute length, SGR, molting frequency, survival rate (SR) and water quality parameters. The Data obtained were analyzed by statistical ANOVA test and then tested by DUNCAN test, as well as descriptive water quality parameters in anasis. The results showed that phytochemical compounds identified in moringa leaf extract are flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, tannins, and phenolics. The addition of moringa leaf extract with different extraction time in commercial feed affects the growth, molting frequency and survival rate of vaname shrimp, but does not affect the absolute length of vaname shrimp. Moringa leaf extract with 60 Minutes extraction time is the best treatment with antioxidant content of 66.78% and vitamin C 133.76 mg / 100g so that it can increase the absolute weight of vanname shrimp by 2.4 g, specific growth rate of 0.052% / day, molting frequency of 2.0 times / head and survival rate of 67%.

Abstract

One of the seaweed-producing areas that has considerable potential in West Sumbawa Regency is Kertasari Village and Tua Nanga Village. One type of seaweed cultivated in these two locations is the Kappaphycus alvarezii type. The success of K. alvarezii production activities is largely impacted by the selection of the proper place. The purpose of this study is to assess the performance of seaweed grown using the basic peg method at Kertasari Beach and Nanga Old Beach. This study is an experimental study using a Complete Randomized Design (RAL) with two treatments and 30 replicates. The treatment that was tested was different cultivation locations, namely P1 (Kertasari Beach) and P2 (Nanga Old Beach). Maintenance is carried out for 45 days with the basic staking method and the initial seedling weight is 100 g. The following parameters were measured: absolute weight, specific growth rate, carrageenan randement, biomass production, chlorophyll content, and water quality. The data were examined using the T test with a 95% confidence level. The results showed that cultivating K. alvarezii with basic peg motede for 45 days on Kertasari beach was the best treatment because it increased the absolute weight of K. alvarezii by 45.83 g, the specific growth rate of 0.81%/day, the carrageenan content of 37%, and biomass production of 1.51 kg/m2.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa profil darah ikan nila (O. niloticus) pada pemberian pakan dengan fortifikasi tepung rumput laut E.cottonii. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan selama 60 hari di Laboratorium Program Studi Budidaya Perairan Fakultas Pertanian Unuversitas Mataram.Metode yang digunakan eksperimen Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan, yaitu P1 ( tanpa  tepung E.  cottonii), P2 (tepung E.  cottonii 4%), P3 (tepung E.  cottonii 8%), P4 (tepung E.  cottonii 12%). Parameter yang diukur  hematokrit, hemoglobin,eritrosit, leukosit, bobot mutlak, panjang mutlak, SR dan kualitas air meliputi suhu, DO, dan pH. Dianalisa secara statistik pada taraf nyata 5% dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95% menggunakan analisis ANOVA dan dilakukan dengan uji lanjut menggunakan uji Duncan’s Multiple Range.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilaihematokrit berkisar anatara 10,67-13,67%, hemoglobin berkisar antara 5,1-9,1G%, eritrosit berkisar antara 2,2x106-9,9 x106 sel/mm. leukosit berkisar antara 11,4 x104-17,6 x104sel/mm, bobot mutlak berkisar antara 16,26 -18,6 g, panjang mutlak berkisar antara 5,08±0,50-5,91±0,27cm dan kelangsungan hidup(SR) berkisar antara 86,7±11,55-93,3±5,77%. Pengukuran kualitas air, suhu 28-28,8, DO 6,8-7,5, dan pH 7,43-7,99.Penambahan tepung E. cottonii yang berbeda pada pakan ikan nila mempengaruhi kadar hemoglobin, eritrosit, leukosit dan pertumbuhan, namun tidak mempengaruhi kadar hematokrit dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup.Suplementasi tepung E. cottonii hingga konsentrasi 12% pada pakan dapat meningkatkan kadar hemoglobin, eritrosit, dan leukosit sehingga mendukung performa pertumbuhan ikan nila yang lebih baik

Abstract

Desa Montong Baan merupakan wilayah di Kabupaten Lombok Timur yang dikelilingi oleh pertanian dan persawahan. Ketersediaan lahan yang terbatas menyebabkan kurangnya pengembangan bagi masyarakat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan pangan. Pekarangan dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menambah kebutuhan pangan masyarakat. Budidaya Ikan Dalam Ember merupakan salah satu solusi yang dapat memanfaatkan dan mengoptimalkan lahan pekarangan. Budikdamber menggabungkan budidaya ikan dengan sayuran pada lahan yang terbatas seperti pekarangan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan sebagai salah satu solusi dalam meningkatkan ketahanan pangan dan gizi keluarga sekaligus mendukung program pertanian berkelanjutan. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan metode sosialisasi langsung atau ceramah dialogis yang diikuti dengan pembuatan budikdamber di lapangan. Adapun tahapan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan ini yaitu: perencanaan dan persiapan, pelaksanaan, pendampingan dan evaluasi. Tingkat pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dapat dilihat melalui proses kegiatan sosialisasi dan pembuatan budikdamber. Hasil pengabdian membuktikan bahwa peserta yang telah mengikuti kegiatan ini memperoleh peningkatan pemahaman serta keterampilan masyarakat tentang pembuatan budikdamber dan Program kegiatan budikdamber yang dilaksanakan oleh Tim KKN Pengabdian Masyarakat di Desa Montong Baan berjalan dengan lancar. Adapun evaluasi dan tindak lanjut dari kegiatan ini yakni monitoring secara berkala sehingga program dapat berkelanjutan terutama kepada masyarakat yang mulai tertarik dan berminat untuk memulai budikdamber.

Abstract

Pelatihan penggunaan kolam bundar HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) untuk budidaya ikan nila memberikan solusi efisien, hemat biaya, dan ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan ini dilakukan sebagai bagian dari pengabdian masyarakat di Desa Batuyang, Lombok Timur, dengan melibatkan kelompok pembudidaya ikan “Sinar Timur”, akademisi, mahasiswa, dan masyarakat. Budidaya ikan nila sebelumnya menggunakan kolam terpal yang mudah bocor atau kolam semen yang mahal. Oleh karena itu, kolam bundar HDPE dipilih sebagai alternatif inovatif. Pelatihan dilaksanakan di lahan milik pembudidaya setempat, menggunakan metode kombinasi teori dan praktik. Peserta diajarkan langkah-langkah konstruksi kolam, mulai dari pengukuran, pengelasan lembaran HDPE, persiapan lokasi, pembentukan struktur dasar, pemasangan besi wermes, hingga uji coba dan penyesuaian akhir. Kolam HDPE yang dibuat memiliki diameter 5 meter, dilengkapi sistem aerasi menggunakan blower, dan dirancang untuk tahan cuaca ekstrem serta keausan. Kegiatan diawali dengan persiapan dan knowledge transfer dari tim pengabdian, yang juga menyediakan sarana dan prasarana. Hasilnya, kelompok pembudidaya berhasil membuat kolam HDPE yang kokoh, tahan lama, dan praktis untuk budidaya ikan nila. Perawatan rutin tetap diperlukan untuk menjaga performa kolam agar dapat digunakan dalam jangka panjang. Solusi ini diharapkan mendukung keberlanjutan budidaya perikanan di wilayah tersebut.
