Abstract

Teacher performance is a key factor in improving the quality of education in schools. Optimal teacher performance is influenced by various organizational factors, including rewards and work environment, as well as job satisfaction, which is an important psychological factor. This study aims to analyze the effect of rewards and work environment on teacher performance with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at SMP Negeri 1 Binjai. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The population in this study was all 64 teachers at SMP Negeri 1 Binjai, who were also used as the research sample. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with the help of the SmartPLS application. The results showed that rewards and work environment had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance and job satisfaction. Furthermore, job satisfaction was proven to have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The results of the indirect effect test showed that job satisfaction acted as a mediating variable in the relationship between rewards and teacher performance, as well as between the work environment and teacher performance. The coefficient of determination value showed that rewards and the work environment were able to explain 50% of the variation in job satisfaction, while rewards, the work environment, and job satisfaction were able to explain 61.8% of the variation in teacher performance. These findings indicate that improvements in teacher performance can be achieved through an effective reward system, improvements in a conducive work environment, and strengthening teacher job satisfaction. This study is expected to serve as a basis for schools in formulating managerial policies to improve teacher performance and the quality of education

Abstract

Employee performance is a key factor in supporting the success of public organizations, including the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office, which plays a strategic role in tax services and state revenue. This study aims to analyze the effect of work discipline and work facilities on employee performance with work motivation as a mediating variable. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method of all 100 employees of the Medan Belawan Primary Tax Office, so the sampling technique used was a census. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS software. The results show that work discipline has a positive and significant effect on employee performance and work motivation. Work facilities also have a positive and significant effect on employee performance and work motivation. Furthermore, work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. The indirect effect test showed that work motivation was able to mediate the effect of work discipline on employee performance, as well as mediate the effect of work facilities on employee performance. The coefficient of determination value showed that work discipline and work facilities were able to explain 35.9% of the variation in work motivation, while work discipline, work facilities, and work motivation together were able to explain 55.2% of the variation in employee performance. Based on these results, it can be concluded that improving the performance of employees at the Medan Belawan Tax Office does not only depend on the implementation of work discipline and the provision of adequate work facilities, but is also greatly influenced by the level of employee work motivation. Therefore, management is expected to strengthen disciplinary policies, improve the quality of work facilities, and create a work environment that can encourage employee motivation in order to improve performance and the quality of public services.

This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture and career development on organizational commitment with job satisfaction as a mediating variable at the Medan Plantation Seed and Protection Center (BBPPTP). The study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. The research population consisted of all 135 civil servants (PNS) at BBPPTP Medan, all of whom were included in the sample. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the help of SmartPLS. The results showed that organizational culture and career development had a positive and significant effect on organizational commitment. Organizational culture also has a positive and significant effect on job satisfaction, while career development does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of job training and work ethic on teacher performance with work motivation as a mediating variable at State Vocational High School (SMK) 1 Stabat. The background of this study stems from the importance of improving the performance of vocational teachers through strengthening training, work ethic, and work motivation. This study uses a quantitative approach with a population of 89 civil servants at SMK Negeri 1 Stabat (civil servants and PPPK), all of whom were used as samples (population research). Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) with SmartPLS. The results show that job training has a positive but insignificant effect on teacher performance, but has a positive and significant effect on work motivation. Work ethic has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance and work motivation. Work motivation also has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Indirectly, job training through work motivation does not have a significant effect on teacher performance, while work ethic through work motivation has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The R² value of 0.811 for work motivation and 0.862 for teacher performance shows that the model is able to explain a high proportion of variance in both dependent variables. These findings confirm that work ethic and work motivation are key factors in improving teacher performance, while job training plays a greater role in encouraging work motivation than in directly influencing performance.
