Abstract

Palm sugar is a processed product from palm trees (nira) which is cultivated by many craftsmen, especially UMKM craftsmen. Activity of UMKM is an effort to increase income for palm sugar craftsmen. However, there are still obstacles in its development, namely the difficulty of obtaining raw materials in the form of nira because it is related to tradition and the low selling price of palm sugar. This low price results in the craftsmen's income being low. Generally, craftsmen never take into account production costs in detail, so that the income they earn cannot be calculated with certainty. The aim of this research is to calculate the costs and income of palm sugar craftsmen, as well as the factors that influence craftsmen to run a palm sugar business. The research method used is a case study in Ciranggem Village, Jatigede District, Sumedang Regency by taking 10 palm sugar craftsmen with census. The research results show that for one palm sugar production process, the average cost incurred is Rp. 164,000 and produces 10 kg of palm sugar. The selling price for palm sugar is Rp. 20,000/kg, so the income earned is Rp. 36,000/one production process. The R/C for palm sugar is 1.22, meaning that the palm sugar business is worth pursuing. The factors that most influence craftsmen to cultivate palm sugar are to increase family income.

Abstract

Coffee is one of Indonesia's leading commodities. Indonesia is the fourth largest coffee producing and exporting country in Indonesia. The high amount of coffee production and exports in Indonesia should have a positive impact, such as increasing the income of coffee farmers from coffee farming as well as household income of coffee farmers. In fact, the income contribution of coffee farmers from coffee farming tends to be low compared to income from other commodity farming as well as outside the agricultural sector. The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of coffee farmer household income in Margamulya Village, Pangalengan District, Bandung Regency. The method used in this research is survey. Respondents were taken using simple random sampling technique, totaling 38 farmers. The sample population in this study was calculated using the Slovin formula and analyzed using descriptive analysis. The conclusion in this study shows that the income contribution of coffee farmers from coffee farming (45.00%) is moderate because it is more than equal to than 35% and less than equal to 70% of the total income contribution. The income of coffee farmers from coffee farming is higher when compared to the contribution of farmers' income from non-coffee farming (19.35%) and non-agricultural income (35.65%). There is a significant difference between the income of coffee farmers from agriculture and non-agriculture

Abstract

Beef tomatoes have good market prospects because they are attractive in appearance and meet the needs of the fresh market, resulting in high sales and relatively stable demand. Beef tomatoes can be cultivated using a hydroponic system in a greenhouse. This system can improve quality and productivity, but requires a relatively large allocation of funds to run production activities, making it an important factor affecting the structure and level of agricultural profits. This study aims to analyze the profitability of beef tomato farming using the hydroponic system in Cibodas Village, Lembang Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency. The study employs a survey method. The research location was deliberately chosen because farmers in Cibodas Village actively engage in hydroponic beef tomato cultivation. The results of the study indicate that hydroponic beef tomato farming in Cibodas Village requires an average cost of Rp23,251,347.92 and generates an average income of Rp40,416,250.00, resulting in an average profit of Rp17,164,902.08 per growing season with an RC ratio of 1.74, indicating that this business is viable and provides good returns.

Abstract

Economic challenges and specific policies often trigger land conversion in the countryside. The primary objective of this study is to explore the repercussions of land use change on household income and determine which household types are most vulnerable to the decline in income due to land use changes. The study was carried out in Gununghalu sub-district and used a quantitative approach. Surveys were conducted to collect data, which was subsequently evaluated through multivariate analysis using multiple linear regression to examine the significance of various socioeconomic factors on household income after land conversion. The results showed a positive and significant impact of land area, education, and age on income. In contrast, the number of commodities cultivated exerted a substantial negative influence, although involvement in farmer groups and the number of family dependents shown no significant effect. An other significant conclusion was that households overseeing an excessive number of commodities often encountered reduced revenue, attributed to their constrained ability to manage excessively diversified enterprises. Consequently, non-selective diversification measures may impose a burden on households. This study emphasizes the significance of capacity-oriented agricultural planning and enhancing access to education and land tenure in mitigating the dynamics of land use change.
