Abstract

Pada beberapa sekolah menerapkan pendekatan scientific dalam proses pembelajaran, namun masih belum diketahui apakah penerapan pendekatan tersebut sudah maksimal atau tidak serta berpengaruh terhadap minat belajar fisika dan kemampuan berpikir kritis, mengingat minat belajar fisika dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa masih tergolong rendah. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk menganalisis pengaruh penerapan pendekatan scientific terhadap minat belajar fisika dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMAN 1 Tanggul. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian explanatory dengan multivariat. Sedangkan analisis datanya menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan analisis SEM. Hasil penelitian ini yaitu Ada pengaruh yang signifikan pada penerapan pendekatan scientific terhadap minat belajar fisika dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMAN 1 Tanggul.

Abstract

Abstraction is the primary key in computational thinking. This study aims to analyze students’ computational thinking skills of abstraction on the concept of kinematics. The data were collected through students’ project documents and interviews. The data is examined using a content analysis approach that emphasizes writing, verbal, or visual communication. The results revealed that students’ abstraction skills were evident in collecting data and analyzing, and recognizing patterns but were less visible in building models or simulations. Abstraction skills can be used as a foundation and framework for viewing a concept in physics not only in mathematics or formulas views but as a data iterative relationship. This research is expected to provide an overview for physics instructors to integrate computational thinking in their learning classroom

Abstract

This study aims at investigating the Physics students' thought patterns concern-ing the greenhouse effect. Descriptive analysis was used, including the set of qualitative data. These data were then interpreted for their idea and content inductively to recognize students' thoughts and models concerning the greenhouse effect. The result confirmed three patterns of the students' thoughts concerning the greenhouse effect (patterns A, B, and C). The model covered different concepts, mechanisms, and processes of the greenhouse effect. The students' knowledge from science teacher explanations and books is not the only learning source concerning the educational environment. The issue and broadcast media frequently carry out confusing the concepts. This research is expected to provide physics teachers critical information to develop appropriate teaching methods and strategies concerning these topics.

Abstract

ABSTRAK  Proses pembelajaran berbasis daring selama pandemi Covid-19 menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan bagi anak dan keluarganya, khususnya siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD). Adanya pembatasan sosial menimbulkan rasa jenuh sehingga intensitas penggunaan handphone sebagai media bermain dan hiburan semakin meningkat. Dampak yang dikhawatirkan dari kondisi ini adalah perkembangan karakter sosial anak menjadi terhambat. Anak – anak cenderung bersikap individual, misalnya kurang peduli, kurang sportif, dan kurang bertanggungjawab. Dengan memperkenalkan permainan tradisional kepada anak usia sekolah dasar diharapkan menjadi salah satu alternative solusi. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini yaitu mensosialisasikan permainan tradisional kepada para orang tua siswa Sekolah Dasar (SD) dalam upaya mengembangkan karakter sosial bagi anak. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan yaitu memberikan penyuluhan dalam bentuk webinar yang diikuti oleh 54  orang tua siswa SD. Pada akhir kegiatan, memberikan kuesioner melalui google form yang berisi 12 pertanyaan atau pernyataan. Hasil kuesioner menunjukkan bahwa 7,4 % siswa belum pernah bermain dengan permainan tradisional, 64,8% menyatakan pentingnya permainan tradisional untuk anak usia SD, 63% orang tua yakin bahwa permainan tradisional dapat mengembangkan karakter sosial anak. Terdapat  3 permainan tradisional yang pernah dimainkan oleh anak – anak adalah 1) petak umpet (44,4%), 2) layang – layang (27,8%), 3) lompat tali (20,3%). Kesimpulan: bahwa permainan tradisional masih di harapkan bagi orang tua siswa untuk bermain anak – anak yang diyakini mampu mengembangkan karakter sosial anak.Kata kunci: Respon orang tua, permainan tradisional, dan karakter sosialABSTRACT The online-based learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic caused various problems for children and their families, especially elementary school (SD) students. The existence of social restrictions creates a feeling of saturation so that the intensity of using cellphones as a medium for play and entertainment increases. The worrying impact of this condition is that the development of children's social character is hampered. Children tend to behave individually, for example less caring, less sporting, and less responsible. By introducing traditional games to elementary school age children, it is hoped that it will be an alternative solution. The purpose of this activity is to socialize traditional games to parents of elementary school (SD) students in an effort to develop social character for children. The method of the activity carried out was to provide counseling in the form of a webinar which was attended by 54 parents of elementary school students. At the end of the activity, give a questionnaire via google form which contains 12 questions or statements. The results of the questionnaire showed that 7.4% of students had never played traditional games, 64.8% stated the importance of traditional games for elementary school age children, 63% of parents believed that traditional games could develop children's social character. There are 3 traditional games that have been played by children, namely 1) hide and seek (44.4%), 2) kite (27.8%), 3) jump rope (20.3%). Conclusion: traditional games are still expected for parents to play with children who are believed to be able to develop children's social character.Keywords: Parental responses, traditional games, and social characters

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to produce scientific approach-based physics learning material in magnetic field topic, describe it’s validity, practicality, and effectiveness to improve students’ critical thinking skill. The development procedures of the research employed Nieveen’s research design which consisted of three stages, namely preliminary research, prototyping stage, and assessement stage. The instruments used in this research were validation sheet, observation sheet, and critical thinking test. Based on the results of the data analysis concluded: (1) the validity of scientific approach-based physics learning material was at very valid category with an average score of expert validation was 3.47 and average score of user validation was 3.67, (2) the practicality of scientific approach-based physics learning material was in very high category, (3) the effectiveness of scientific approach-based physics learning material to improve students’ critical thinking skill showed that the average of N-Gain score was 0.53 which was in the medium category, so the scientific approach-based physics learning material was effective in improving critical thinking skill.Key word: physics learning materials; scientific approach; magnetic field, critical thinking skill

Abstract

Abstract The objectives of this study are: 1) developing contextual teaching and learning (CTL) based physics modules on the subject of direct current series in high school, 2) testing the validation of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) based physics modules on the subject of direct current series in high school , 3) testing the effectiveness of contextual teaching and learning (CTL) based physics modules on the subject of a series of direct current in high school. This study uses research and development procedures according to Nieven (2006) which includes 3 stages, namely: (1) Preliminary research (2) Prototype stage, and (3) Assessment Phase. The instruments used in this study were validation sheets and formative tests in the form of description of pre-test and post-test questions. Based on the results of the validation analysis, the validity category is very valid with a reliability coefficient of 93.06%. The results of the field test analysis obtained an average N-Gain score of 0.71 so that the module was declared effective for use in learning direct current circuit material for class XII Science. Abstract

AbstractThe guided inquiry learning model accompanied by scaffolding prompting questioning is learning that directs the learning process in problem solving and makes students active in solving problems through instructions from scaffolding. The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of guided inquiry learning models accompanied by scaffolding prompting questioning of students' science process skills for straight-motion material in high school. This type of research an experimental research conducted at Senior High School Pakusari in the X grade students in the even semester 2018/2019 academic year. Data collection techniques used in the research were documentation and tests. Data analysis using the independent sample t-test test with the help of SPSS 23. The results of the research showed that there was significant differences between the science process skills of students in the experimental class and the control class. The conclusion of this research was guided inquiry learning model accompanied by scaffolding prompting questioning has a significant effect on students' science process skills in physics learning for straight-motion material in high school.Key word: guided inquiry, scaffolding prompting questioning, science process skills.

Abstract

This research aimed to describe and analyzed the validity of Student Worksheet (LKS) based on Collaborative Creativity on the subject of direct current circuits on high school students. The type of this research in educational development research. This study used research and development prosedures according to Nievenn (2006). Validation was done by expert validators and user validators. The technique of collecting data used a validation sheet of the student worksheet developed. Based on the result of the validation of the user validators was 4,32 which was include in the valid category and the result oh the expert validator was 4,05 which fall in to the valid category. Students Worksheets which was developed can increase students learning outcomes by gaining 0,7189 and high category. Thus, Collaborative Creativity based Student Worksheet (LKS) based on direct current circuits was include in the valid category and feasible category used as students worksheet in direct current material learning for class XII science.Keywords : Validity, Students Worksheet, Collaborative Creativity

Abstract

Abstract This study was conducted with the aim of describing the validity of contextual learning videos on the material of optical devices (eyes, microscopes, and telescopes) in high school and describing students' responses to the video using the response questionnaire. The method used in this research is research and development (Research and Development) by applying the Nieveen design to develop videos. Based on the results of the three stages of validation obtained an average validity for each aspect of the assessment of the validation of experts and users, namely, Relevance 87.5%, Accuracy of 93.75%, Contextual Learning 87.50%, and Linguistics 95%, so that a final validity of 90% is obtained with the category "It is very valid and can be used without improvement", meaning that the video developed is appropriate for use in learning. The results of the distribution of questionnaire responses of students of XII MIPA 1 and XII MIPA 3 in MAN Lumajang with aspects of the response consisting of Display, Student Learning Instructions, Learning Objectives, and Content with an average percentage of total responses was 89.52% which is included in the category of "Very Positive" and means students are interested in using video in learning. Abstract

The purpose of this research: 1) analyze the validity; 2) the effectivity of the contextual-based physics learning module on the subject of global warming for high school students. This research is research and development (R&D). The development model used refers to the Nieeven (2006) model which includes 3 stages, namely 1) preliminary research, 2) prototyping stage, 3) assessment stage. Data collection techniques used are interviews and literature study. The data analysis used is expert validation and practicality data analysis. Practical data analysis using quantitative descriptive. This data analysis technique is used to process the data obtained through a questionnaire in the form of a descriptive percentage. The percentage of data obtained from the lecturer's response questionnaire was calculated based on the Guttman scale. The results showed that: 1) expert validity was 3.77 with very valid criteria and with a reliability coefficient of 95%. While user validation shows very valid criteria with user validity results of 3.78 and with a reliability coefficient of 100%. Thus, this contextual-based physics module can be used as teaching material on global warming material. 2) The effectiveness of the calculated pretest and posttest results obtained an N-gain score of 0.79 which is included in the high category. So, the contextual-based physics learning module on the subject of global warming that was developed has effective criteria in improving student learning outcomes at SMAN 2 Jember, so it is suitable to be used as physics.
