Abstract

Abstract This research is a descriptive research. This study aims to identify the mastery of the concepts and attitudes of physics education students at Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Jember University on global warming. The research subjects were 63 students in semester VI physics education in Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Jember University 2018-2019 academic year. Data on mastery of concepts were collected through the provision of written tests of 10 multiple choice questions and 2 description questions, while data on attitudes were collected through questionnaires. The results showed that 1.7% of students mastered the concept of global warming very well, 22.2% of students mastered the concept of global warming well, 63.5% of students mastered the concept of global warming quite well, 3.2% of students mastered the concept of warming global is not good, and 9.5% of students master the concept of global warming is not very good. From the results of the study, it is also known that 36.5% of students have a very good attitude towards the phenomenon of global warming, 50.8% of students have a good attitude towards the phenomenon of global warming, 12.7% of students have sufficient attitudes towards the phenomenon of global warming, and there are no students who have a lack of attitude and are very unfavorable towards the phenomenon of global warming. The conclusions obtained from this study are 1) in general the mastery of the concept of physics education students at Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Jember University about global warming is quite good at percentage 69,05%, and 2) the attitude of students of physics education at Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Jember University to the phenomenon of global warming is good at percentage 83,62%. This reasearch can be used to identify the factors that influence the level of mastery of the concepts and attitudes of physics education students at Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Jember University. So lecturers can determine the right learning for physics education students. Key word: mastery of concept, attitudes, global warming

Abstract

Multirepresentation is a learning approach that provides information in various forms to make it easier for students to understand learning materials in the form of diverse representasion. This study aims to analyze the ability of image representation and mathematical representation of students.Respondents to this study were 3 schools in Bondowoso district, namely SMAN 1 TENGGARANG, SMAN 1 TAPEN, and SMAN 3 BONDOWOSO.Purposive sampling area method is a method used to determine the place of research.The data collection method in this study uses tests, interviews, and documentation.The test instrument consists of 5 questions containing aspects of image and mathematical representation.The test results are data on the ability to represent images and mathematically as well as classification of student ability categories presented in percentage form.The multirepresentation capability category is divided into 4 categories, namely very good, good, enough, less, and very less.Based on the data obtained it is known that the highest ability is in the representation of images with the average score of students in 3 different schools of 95.2% in the category of excellent.The average score of mathematical representation capability is 87.3% with a very good category. Abstract

Abstrak Mata pelajaran fisika adalah Salah satu mata pelajaran di sekolah yang seringkali dianggap sulit oleh siswa. Hasil wawancara dengan guru mata pelajaran fisika di SMAN 3 Jember menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran yang digunakan masih menggunakan metode konvensional dimana guru berperan lebih aktif dibandingkan siswa. Melalui modul berbasis problem based learning, siswa tidak hanya cenderung menghafal rumus, tetapi lebih ditekankan bagaimana memecahkan masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui validitas dan efektifitas modul berbasis problem based learning disertai concept mapping pada materi alat optik di SMA. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, validasi ahli diperoleh nilai sebesar 89% dan validasi pengguna diperoleh hasil 86%. Keduanya dalam kategori sangat valid. Efektifitas modul memperoleh skor N-Gain sebesar 0,53 atau berada dalam kategori sedang. Hal ini dapat dikatakan bahwa modul efektif dan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran fisika kelas XI SMA IPA. Abstract

Coffee production in Sidomulyo Village, located at the foot of Mount Gumitir, Silo District, Jember Regency, is famous for being very abundant. This condition is very supportive of the increasing needs of coffee drink lovers. However, the taste of ready-to-brewed ground coffee produced by the Sidomulyo Koperasi WANITA is still unable to compete with coffee on the market. This activity aimed to provide training on civet coffee production through the dry coffee bean fermentation method as a primary ingredient. The fermentation process was carried out using a Magnetic Fermentation machine which was the result of research in 2020. The fermentation process training activity was attended by 15 members of the Koperasi WANITA. 50 kg of dry coffee was fermented using a Magnetic Fermenter machine. Dry coffee was soaked first in warm water (temperature around 30 - 400C) for 5 hours. Then it was drained and put in a fermenter box by adjusting the intensity of the ELF magnetic field to around 300 T for 90 minutes. The coffee beans were transferred to buckets and ripened for up to 5 days, then washed and sun-dried for three days, after drying in Roasting and continue grinding. The targeted outputs of this activity included scientific publications in the National Journal of Abdimas with ISSN. The results of this activity had produced fermented coffee beans that had been roasted in the form of roasted coffee beans and ground coffee. Based on the results of the evaluation, the members of the Ketakasi Koperasi already had skills in producing artificial Luwak coffee. This had the potential to develop superior products for Sidomulyo civet coffee.

Abstract

Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam mengimplementasikan PTK dan menyusun hasil penelitian PTK adalah dengan mengadakan pelatihan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan penilaian hasil belajar seiring dengan meningkatnya keterampilan guru dalam mengimplementasikan PTK dan menyusun hasil penelitian PTK serta terjalin kerjasama yang baik antara FKIP dengan khalayak sasaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pelatihan adalah metode ceramah, metode diskusi, dan metode praktik dalam mengimplementasikan dan menyusun hasil penelitian PTK. Khalayak sasaran yang menjadi objek dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah guru SMAN Panarukan Situbondo sebanyak 41 orang guru. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatnya kemampuan guru dalam mengimplementasikan PTK dan menyusun hasil penelitian PTK sehingga memberikan dampak terhadap kinerja guru dan proses belajar mengajar.

Abstract

This study focuses on the effect of Problem Based Instruction learning model with Pictorial Riddle method. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of Problem Based Instruction learning model with Pictorial Riddle method on the result of student’s learning physics subject in high school and to describe the students’ skill of critical thinking of students by using Problem Based Instruction learning with Pictorial Riddle method on physics subject in high school. The kind of this study is experiment with a modified post-test only control group design. Sample of this study was students of class XI in SMAN Arjasa. Data were collected by observation, documentation, testing, and interviews. Data were analyzed by Independent Sample T-Test with SPSS 22 and the percentage of the students’ skill of critical thinking. The results of this study showed that the average of learning results of experimental class is 78.05 and the control class is 67.05. The analysis of data used Independent Sample T-Test, learning results are obtained sig.(2-tailed) of 0.000 or 0.000 ≤ 0.05. This study can be concluded that there is significant influence of Problem Based Instruction learning model with Pictorial Riddle method on the result of student’s learning physics subject in high school. The results of the analysis of the students’ skill of critical thinking are obtained an averrage achievement of all the indicators of 64.91% with the good level of mastery.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this research were to study the effect of PBI (Problem BasedInstructions) model with audiovisual media towards the student’s science process skillsand student learning outcomes. This research was an experiment research conducted inMAN 1 Jember. The population in this research were all students of Xth grade in MIAMAN 1 Jember academic year 2016/2017. The data on student’s science process skillsand student learning outcomes were obtained from written tests at the end of momentumand impulse learning in the experiment class and control class. Abstract

Abstract Physics learning is an effort to improve problem solving ability. This studyaimed at determining high school students’ ability in solving the physics nationalexamination problem based on the stages of IDEAL model on static electricitymaterials. By knowing that ability, it can be a motivation to improve problem solvingability of physics national examination to obtain better results. The research methodused is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study is last year students of SMAAmbulu and SMAN Balung. Based on this research, we can know the student’s abilityon identify the problem stage in SMAN Ambulu and SMAN Balung was categorizedas very good of 95.60% and 85.90%. The define represent the problem wascategorized as very good and good of 93.54% and 82.14%. The explore possiblestrategies stage in SMAN Ambulu was categorized as very good by 87.74%, while inSMAN Balung was categorized as sufficient of 68.88%. The act on the strategiesstage in SMAN Ambulu was categorized as very good, and in SMAN Balung wascategorized as good. Whereas, the look back and evaluate the effect stage in SMANAmbulu and SMAN Balung was categorized as good of 74.26% and 50.52%.Key words: Physics, IDEAL model, solve problems

Abstract

The research focused on the influence of generative learning to students’s discuccion skill and students’s physics achievement. The purposes of this research are (1) to describe to students’s discuccion skill using generative learning model in learning physics, (2) to examine students’s physics achievement using generative learning model better than using direct instruction model in learning physic. The type of this research is experiment by using randomized post-test only control group design. Sample of the research are X MIPA 3 as an experiment class and X MIPA 4 as an control class. The techniques of data collection are observation, test, documentation, and interview. The techniques of data analysis using descriptive analysis and Independent Sample T-Test by SPSS version 20.. The result of the research are (1) average value students’s discussion skill using generative learning model is 4,2 (2) students’s physics achievement acquired of analytical results Independent-Sample T-test Sig. (1-tailed) of 0,001. The research can be concluded that (1) the students’s discussion skill using generative learning model is in good criteria, (2)the students’s physic achievement using generative learning model better than using direct instruction model in learning physic.

Abstract

In the process of learning science students are given the opportunity to think aboutand define the concept of its own. This had resulted in the concept of learned students tendnot to last long. So the researchers chose a learning model POE (predict-observe-explain)with the experimental method, which aimed to assess the influence of learning model POE(Predict-Observe-Explain) against the results of the experiment method accompanied bystudent learning and retention results of student learning in junior high school. The type ofthis research was experiments research with post test only control group design. Thetechnique of data collection in this research was the study results and data retention ofstudents. The data analysis techniques was using SPSS 17, student learning outcomes dataobtained value of 0.005<0,05 which show that there was a significant difference betweenthe results of science learning students in class experiments and control classroom. Whilethe value of retention in experimentsclass had increased 2.78% and the control class haddecreased 16.6%. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the results of theclass experiment of very good as well as the memory of students in the class of experimentshad increase.Keywords: POE (Predict-Observe-Explain), experiment method, retention
