Abstract

This study aims to develop teaching guides for biology-based courses, including Microbiology, Plant Anatomy, and Agribusiness, designed for pre-service teachers. These guides integrate project-based learning and case studies to cultivate 21st-century skills. Using the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) within a Research and Development (R&D) framework, the guides were systematically developed and evaluated. Results show high feasibility, with average scores of 97% for content appropriateness, 95% for presentation quality, and 100% for language clarity, demonstrating their validity, practicality, and effectiveness.

Abstract

Keterbatasan fasilitas laboratorium Biologi dan rendahnya keterampilan penggunaan mikroskop menjadi permasalahan utama dalam pembelajaran biologi di SMA Ciwaru. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi praktikum biologi siswa melalui pelatihan penggunaan mikroskop yang sistematis dan aplikatif. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif-kolaboratif melalui empat tahapan: sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Peserta kegiatan adalah 30 siswa kelas XI dan 1 guru biologi SMAN Ciwaru. Pelatihan mencakup pengenalan bagian mikroskop, teknik pengamatan dan pengaturan fokus, pembuatan preparat, serta mini project observasi mikroskopik. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada keterampilan siswa: kemampuan mengatur fokus meningkat dari 17% menjadi 87%, dan kemampuan membuat preparat meningkat dari 20% menjadi 83%. Evaluasi melalui kuesioner menunjukkan 93% siswa menyatakan pelatihan sangat bermanfaat, 87% merasa lebih termotivasi, dan 90% mengalami peningkatan pemahaman konsep biologi. Program ini juga menghasilkan modul pelatihan sebagai luaran berkelanjutan. Pelatihan terbukti efektif meningkatkan kompetensi praktikum biologi siswa dan memperkuat budaya pembelajaran sains berbasis praktik di sekolah mitra, selaras dengan SDGs tujuan 4 tentang pendidikan berkualitas

Abstract

Materi litosfer merupakan komponen penting dalam pembelajaran Geografi SMA, namun relevansinya dengan kebutuhan peserta didik di Jakarta belum pernah dievaluasi secara sistematis. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi materi litosfer kelas X SMA di Jakarta menggunakan model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Pendekatan mixed methods diterapkan dengan instrumen kuesioner berskala Likert dan wawancara mendalam terhadap 15 guru geografi pengurus MGMP dan 15 siswa kelas X yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling dari lima wilayah kota DKI Jakarta. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pada aspek context, materi yang berkaitan langsung dengan fenomena geologi Jakarta—seperti seisme (93,3%), dampak tenaga endogen-eksogen, dan jenis tanah aluvial—dinilai sangat relevan, sementara materi teori pembentukan bumi dan detail vulkanisme dinilai rendah relevansinya. Pada aspek input, lebih dari separuh guru belum menyertakan data lokal Jakarta dalam perangkat ajar dan akses media geospasial masih terbatas. Pada aspek process, pembelajaran masih didominasi metode konvensional dengan implementasi PBL/PjBL yang belum konsisten. Pada aspek product, pemahaman siswa tinggi pada materi konkret (73,3–93,3%) namun rendah pada materi abstrak (26,7–33,3%). Penelitian ini merekomendasikan diversifikasi kurikulum litosfer berbasis karakteristik geologi lokal Jakarta sebagai kontribusi bagi kebijakan Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between reading habits and the ability to read grade VII students of SMP N 1 Mambi. The analytical method used in this study is a quantitative research method with a correlational design. The population in this study were all students of SMP N 1 Mambi, the sample of this study was class VII students with a total of 57 students. The instruments used are test sheets and questionnaires. Data collection techniques in this study are test and non-test techniques—data analysis techniques, namely descriptive statistics and inferential statistics parametric inferential Pearson correlation. The descriptive statistical analysis of reading habits results showed that the highest score was 92.50 and the lowest score was 54.17. Then the total number obtained is 4254.13, and the average is 74.6339. The results of descriptive statistical analysis of reading comprehension ability showed the highest score obtained was 89.29 and the lowest score was 25.00. Then the total number obtained is 3510.68, and the average is 61.5909. shows that when the Pearson Correlation is -0.120 and sig. (2-tailed) is 0.347. Because of sig. (2-tailed) is higher than (0.05) then it can be stated that there is no relationship between reading habits and reading comprehension.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya keterampilan merancang eksperimen pada siswa SMP IT Syamsul Huda, yang disebabkan oleh dominasi praktikum verifikasi berbasis resep dalam pembelajaran biologi. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam merancang eksperimen melalui pendampingan praktikum berbasis proyek. Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah, demonstrasi, dan pelatihan. Ceramah diberikan untuk menyampaikan konsep merancang eksperimen secara ilmiah, demonstrasi dilakukan untuk memperkenalkan teknik penggunaan alat dan bahan laboratorium, serta pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui praktikum berbasis proyek menggunakan Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) yang telah dirancang secara sistematis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan siswa dalam mengidentifikasi masalah, merumuskan hipotesis, merancang prosedur eksperimen, dan menarik kesimpulan ilmiah. Selain itu, respon siswa terhadap kegiatan ini sangat positif, dengan seluruh indikator kepuasan peserta berada pada kategori sangat baik. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pendampingan praktikum berbasis proyek efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan ilmiah siswa.

Abstract

Education in the modern era demands the development of student competencies beyond the core subjects. One of the efforts to achieve this is extracurricular, especially the Adolescent scientific group (KIR). KIR provides students with opportunities to develop their research, problem-solving, and creativity skills. To maximize the benefits of this activity, effective KIR assistance is needed and the use of mini-research-based authentic assessments can help facilitate KIR assistance in achieving its goals. The KIR Assistance Method includes the stages of planning, implementation, and evaluation. The results of KIR's mentoring activities include helping to facilitate students to add insight academically and scientific paper writing skills, 60% of students have been able to make mini-research designs well, but 80% of students stated that students still experience problems in terms of time to do the mini research.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an authentic assessment and analyze the implementation of a project-based authentic assessment with a scientific approach in biology practicum. The research method employed was Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) design model. The results showed that, based on expert validation, the content expert evaluation yielded a score of 85.27% and the media expert evaluation yielded 80.35%, indicating that the developed authentic assessment is valid and suitable for use. The practicality test revealed that the use of project-based authentic assessment obtained a percentage score of 83.34%, categorized as practical. The practicality indicators measured included ease of use, clarity of instructions, adequacy of allocated time, and the suitability of the assessment format to user needs. The effectiveness test indicated that the use of project-based authentic assessment obtained a percentage score of 83.35%, categorized as highly effective. The effectiveness indicators measured included the assessment’s ability to optimally measure learning outcomes, the alignment of project tasks with learning objectives, the improvement of students’ skills, and the achievement of learning outcomes as targeted. The findings of this study recommend the use of project-based authentic assessment for learning activities in all practicum courses within the Biology Education study program.

Abstract

Forest conversion activities into non forestry purposes impacts on decreasing of forest function as a main role sustainable development, especially as water regulators and as carbon storage. Therefore, deforestation not only causes a direct loss of forest habitat but also leads to indirect impacts as ecosystem services deteriorate or fail. Forests provide ecosystem services that include the regulation of weather and climate at local, regional and even global levels. Existence of protected forest Pinang Luar ± 3.228 acres take an important part and people living in the area has a high dependency on the forest. Farming activities become a treat to the forest and their indications show that cropland and palm estate already in the forest area. Land cover changes in protected forest Pinang luar at 2003 "“ 2012 impacts on villages at ring 1 area hierarchy decrease cause by population growth are not followed by the additional of infrastructures in economy, health and education. It is also caused by land conversion that occurred in the protected forest Pinang Luar. In the period 2003 - 2012, the villages directly affected (ring 1) have a level area hierarchy is much worse compared to villages that are not directly affected (Ring 2). And it affected to the development of the villages in the ring 2 which is better than the village at ring 1. These conditions happen because at the village in ring 1 change only on land not on the impact on the level of development that could affect the region hierarchy. This is in contrast with the ring 2 villages where the changes occur not only on land but also on its impact on the development so as to enhance the region hierarchy in ring 2 villages.
