Abstract

White sweet potato is a local Indonesian food ingredient that can be processed into various products, including nonflaky crackers. Adding different types of starch to the cracker formulation can improve product characteristics, enhancing sensory acceptability. This study aims to determine the effects of the proportion of white sweet potato flour to wheat flour and the type of added starch on the chemical and sensory characteristics of crackers. A completely randomized design (CRD) was used. The factors studied were the addition of various types of starch (P; P1, white sweet potato starch; P2, cornstarch; and P3, tapioca) and the white sweet potato starch: wheat flour ratio (% w/b, T) (T1, 1:3; T2, 1:1; T3, 3:1; and T4, 4:0). The chemical characteristics evaluated were the moisture, ash, fat, protein, and carbohydrate contents. The sensory characteristics evaluated were the taste, texture, color, and degree of liking (preference). The chemical variables were analyzed using ANOVA and DMRT at the α = 5% level. The Friedman test was used for sensory evaluation. The results showed that the type of added starch (P) significantly affected the fat content. Furthermore, the proportion of white sweet potato flour to wheat flour (T) significantly influenced the fat and protein contents. In addition, the treatment combination (PT) significantly affected texture, color, and preference. The best treatment (P1T1) resulted in crackers with 4.40% moisture, 18.06% fat, and 74.86% carbohydrates, along with favorable sensory attributes like slightly salty taste, crunchy texture, and light brown color.

Abstract

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a clinical condition caused by metabolic or pathological damage to the kidneys, characterized by a rapid and significant decline in kidney function along with elevated azotemia levels. This study aimed to analyze the occurrence of AKI due to the impact of drug therapy based on Drug Related Problems (DRPs) as categorized by the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe (PCNE) in inpatients at Dr. Moewardi General Hospital in 2022. It also aimed to determine the effect of drug therapy on reducing leukocyte and urinary bacteria counts, as well as urea and creatinine levels in patients with infections not undergoing hemodialysis. This was a descriptive, non-experimental study using retrospective qualitative and quantitative methods. Quantitative data were analyzed using linear regression and paired sample t-test, while qualitative data were analyzed using the PCNE DRP classification. The study involved data from 10 patients diagnosed with AKI and infection without hemodialysis, with 18 DRP events identified. The analysis of drug therapy using the PCNE DRP framework showed an influence on kidney function, as several patients who were not initially diagnosed with AKI had elevated urea and creatinine levels upon examination, leading to an AKI diagnosis. However, the therapy given to these 10 patients was not optimal in addressing AKI. The analysis concluded that the drug therapy, although appropriate in its administration, did not significantly impact the reduction of leukocytes, urinary bacteria, or urea and creatinine levels, indicating that the therapeutic outcomes did not meet the expected results.

Abstract

Traffic Police have duties and functions in enforcing traffic discipline regulations and improving traffic awareness. This research purposes determining factors that can improve the performance of police members of the Semarang Police traffic unit. The variables in this research are teamwork, competence and bureaucracy, the dependent variable is performance with the intervening job satisfaction as mediating variable. This research is conducted through quantitative methods using questionnaires as data collecting. Around 58 police members of the Semarang Traffic and Police Traffic Unit participated in this study. The path analysis is used with support by SmartPLS program. The results show that teamwork, competence and bureaucracy influence performance and job satisfaction. However, job satisfaction has no effect on performance and has not succeeded in becoming an intervening variable in this research.

Abstract

Honey sweet potato is a potential local tuber from Pasrujambe subdistrict, Lumajang regency to be developed into processed food products. It can be processed into flour to increase the use value of honey sweet potato. The current flour has several shortcomings, including a languid aroma, low water absorption ability, and limited development patterns. Efforts to improve flour characteristics were made by modifying the fermentation method using a mocaf starter. This study aimed to determine the effect of time fermentation on the characteristics of modified honey sweet potato flour and the appropriate of time fermentation to produce the best-modified honey sweet potato flour. The experimental design used was a completely randomized design with one factor, the variation of time fermentation. The variation of fermentation time used was 0, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, and 36 hours, with 0-hour fermentation as the control with triplicate sample replication. The data were analyzed with ANOVA and further tested with the Duncan Multiple Range Test. The best treatment based on the effectiveness test with a value of 0.54 at 36 hours of fermentation showed a yield value of 21.69%, degree of whiteness of 83.63, pH of 4.11; moisture content of 7.28%; starch content of 49.98%; amylose content of 29.40%; amylopectin content of 20.58%; water holding capacity (WHC) of 252.78%; oil holding capacity (OHC) of 121.94%; swelling power of 13.23 g/g; solubility of 5.52%. The conclusion is that the fermentation time significantly affects the characteristics of modified honey sweet potato flour, and 36 hours of fermentation produces the best-modified honey sweet potato flour.

Abstract

Budidaya ikan guppy memerlukan pengawasan terhadap kualitas air dan jumlah ikan secara tepat dan efektif. Metode penghitungan manual serta pengukuran pH dan suhu air secara tradisional sering kali kurang cepat dan akurat, serta sulit untuk dilakukan secara terus-menerus. Penelitian ini mengusulkan sistem monitoring menggunakan Arduino Mega, webcam, sensor pH, dan sensor suhu DS18B20 yang dilengkapi alat pengingat berupa buzzer. Webcam digunakan untuk menghitung jumlah ikan secara langsung dengan algoritma YOLO yang dijalankan di Python dan berkomunikasi melalui koneksi serial ke Arduino. Informasi tentang jumlah ikan, pH, dan suhu ditampilkan langsung pada layar LCD, dengan data sensor diperoleh dari hasil rata-rata setiap 10 detik. Sistem ini diuji pada wadah berwarna putih agar webcam mudah dalam mendeteksi ikan. Namun, kendala teknis seperti gerakan ikan yang sangat cepat dapat menyebabkan YOLO tidak mendeteksi ikan. Hasil uji menunjukkan akurasi penghitungan ikan mencapai 95%, Pengukuran pH memiliki rata-rata kesalahan pengukuran sebesar ±0.1 dengan kesalahan maksimal 3.5%, sedangkan pengukuran suhu memiliki rata-rata kesalahan pengukuran sebesar ±0.3°C dan kesalahan maksimal 1.4%. Alarm berbunyi otomatis jika pH berada di luar rentang 6-8 atau suhu di luar 23-27°C. Sistem ini membantu meningkatkan efisiensi dan akurasi dalam memantau kualitas air serta populasi ikan Guppy

Abstract

Since the advent of nanofluids, engineers have expected major gains in thermal‐system efficiency. Yet a key property—specific heat capacity (Cp)—remains poorly understood, because Cp is not a single value but a spectrum governed by nanoparticle size, shape, material, and concentration. Deeper insight is essential, especially for natural‑circulation experiments that rely on accurately characterized working fluids. This study targets that gap by measuring the Cp of Al₂O₃–water nanofluids at mass fractions of 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 wt%. Thirty-nanometer Al₂O₃ particles were dispersed in deionized water using magnetic stirring and ultrasonic processing. The nanofluid was heated in a thermostatic bath while temperature rise was tracked with thermocouples and a data‑acquisition system. Results reveal that relative Cp decreases as nanoparticle concentration increases and is also sensitive to fluid temperature. These findings clarify how concentration and temperature jointly shape the thermal behavior of Al₂O₃ nanofluids, guiding for design high‑performance natural‑circulation loops and other heat‑transfer applications.

Abstract

Degenerative disease is a condition that occurs due to a decrease in the function of a tissue or organ due to the aging process. It is not uncommon for elderly people to realize this disease only when the disease is already in a serious condition with complications, resulting in an increase in morbidity and mortality rates, as well as a decrease in the elderly's quality of life and a decrease in the elderly's ability to carry out daily activities. One of the early detections carried out is routine checks for three body conditions that can cause various degenerative diseases, namely, checking blood sugar levels, checking uric acid levels, checking cholesterol, and checking blood pressure. Early detection can be done by empowering cadres of PKK women in the environment around where the elderly live. The Baluwarti sub-district area is one of the areas in Surakarta that has elderly people with degenerative diseases. Because of this history, there is a need for control efforts from the government and private sector. One of the efforts is to empower PKK women cadres to carry out early detection of degenerative diseases. The method used in this activity is an educational approach and health examination. The results of the health examination obtained in this activity were elderly people with high blood sugar levels, namely 48.1%; uric acid levels above normal, namely 61.5%; cholesterol levels above normal, namely 53.8%; and high blood pressure, namely 55.8%. This shows that the majority of elderly people in the Baluwarti Village area suffer from degenerative diseases.

Abstract

Pelaku Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah (UMKM) di Kelurahan Pedurungan Kidul Kota Semarang sebagian besar belum dapat meningkatan omset penjualannya dan mengembangkan usahanya karena memiliki keterbatasan dalam pengelolaan bisnis. Sebagaian besar pengelola UMKM di wilayah Pedurungan Kidul memiliki keterbatasan pengetahuan tentang aspek-aspek penting dalam menjalankan bisnis, seperti perencanaan pasar dan pemasaran, keuangan, produk dan produksi. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan wawasan, pengetahuan dan ketrampilan malalui pelatihan dan pendampingan pada pelaku UMKM Kelurahan Pedurungan Kidul Kecamatan Pedurungan Kota Semarang dalam penyusunan perencanaan bisnis. Metode kegiatan adalah melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan dalam pembuatan perencanaan bisnis pada aspek pasar dan pemasaran, produk dan produksi, dan keuangan. Kegiatan ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pengelola UMKM dalam membuat perencanaan bisnis sehingga kegiatan pengelolaan usaha menjadi lebih terencana dan terarah. Most of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Pedurungan Kidul Semarang have not been able to increase their sales turnover and develop their businesses because they have limitations in business management. Most MSME managers in the Pedurungan Kidul area have limited knowledge about important aspects of running a business, such as market planning and marketing, finance, products and production. This activity increases insight, knowledge and skills through training and assistance to MSMEs in Pedurungan Kidul Village, Pedurungan District, Semarang City in preparing business plans. The method is through training and assistance in making business plans on market and marketing, product and production, and financial aspects. This activity can improve the ability of MSME managers in making business plans so that business management activities become more planned and focused.

Abstract

Abstract Restroom is as a supporting facility in a public building functioning to be a room for such activities as washing hand, washing face, urinating, and defecating. This room is equipped with a variety of toilet sets including washtafel (was basin), and some forms of closet, bidet and urinoir and other room facilities such as tissue paper and rubbish basket. Surakarta as a cultural, business, and trading business have many public buildings. Attention should be paid to how those buildings can have supporting facilities such as restroom with good sanitation, comfortable, and cultured as the form of good public service to children, adult, and disabled. This applied research aims to answer the problem related to the function of sanitation and restroom form existing in Surakarta and to give design-related solution based on field and literature data. The research procedure included identification, design experiment, and design trial. To explore data of artifact, literature, and informant, observation, literature study, interview, and documentation techniques were used. Design experiment was conducted using design approach and confirmed with evocative, educative, psychological, and social-cultural approaches. SWOT analysis model was used to formulate the restroom design. Abstract

Abstrak.Pengeringan merupakan salahsatuproses pasca panen yang umum dilakukan pada berbagai produk pertanian yang ditujukan untuk menurunkan kadar air sampai pada tingkat yang amanuntukpenyimpananatauproseslainnya. Perlu alternatif pengeringan dengan sinar matahari langsung untuk meningkatkan kualitas hasil pengeringan. Penelitian ini menguji proses pengeringan kacang hijau menggunakan mesin Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (MSSD). Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis pengeringan biji kacang hijau dan kinerja mesin. Mesin MSSD memiliki 16 rak, 6 buah lampu pijar, 3 buah blower, 12 sensor DHT 22, aktuator, mikrokontroler Arduino dan 6 kipas exhaust dan dimensi panjang 150 cm, lebar 60 cm dan tinggi 120 cm. Bahan yang digunakan yaitu 6.400g kacang hijau yang masih segar dengan kadar air awal sebesar 23,60 %. Setelah proses pengeringan selama 21 jam, kadar air akhir yang diperoleh sebesar 10,50 %, dan suhu pengeringan yang dihasilkan pada proses pengeringan berkisar antara 25-40C. Untuk Laju pengeringan konstan terjadi setelah pengeringan berlangsung selama 11 jam kemudian menurunkan kadar air dalam jumlah yang besar. Namun daya perkecambahan yang diperoleh sebesar 59 %.Performance Test Of Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (Mssd) On Green Beans (Vigna radiata)Abstract.Drying is one of the post-harvest processes commonly carried out on various agricultural products which is aimed at reducing the water content to a level that is safe for storage or other processes. An alternative to drying in direct sunlight is needed to improve the quality of the drying results. This research tested the process of drying green beans using a machine Multi Seeds Smart Dryer (MSSD). The aim of this research is to analyze the drying of green bean seeds and machine performance. MSSD machines have 16 shelves, 6 incandescent lamps, 3 blower, 12 DHT 22 sensors, actuators, Arduino microcontroller and 6 fans exhaust and dimensions 150 cm long, 60 cm wide and 120 cm high. The ingredients used were 6,400g of fresh green beans with an initial water content of 23.60%. After the drying process for 21 hours, the final water content obtained was 10.50%, and the drying temperature produced during the drying process ranged from 25-40C. The constant drying rate occurs after drying lasts for 11 hours and then reduces the water content by a large amount. However, the germination capacity obtained was 59%.
