Abstract

Termination of Employment (PHK) is a crucial issue in industrial relations, often arising from labor disputes, particularly concerning the misuse of Fixed-Term Employment Agreements (PKWT). The differences in regulation and mechanisms for resolving terminations between Indonesia and Malaysia reflect distinct characteristics of labor law systems in providing legal protection for both employees and employers. This study aims to analyze the models of termination resolution in Indonesia and Malaysia, focusing on three main aspects: severance pay regulation, termination procedures, and labor dispute resolution institutions. The research method employed is normative legal research with statutory, comparative law, and case study approaches. The case study used is PT HS, which illustrates the practice of resolving labor disputes prior to termination through labor supervision mechanisms by the Manpower Office. The study findings indicate that the termination resolution model in Indonesia is procedural and tiered, with active government involvement, but tends to require a lengthy timeframe. This study is expected to contribute to the development of a more effective and equitable model for termination resolution.

Abstract

The Rainfall erosivity has a relatively high effect on soil erosion, in addition to being very difficult to predict and control. The Universal Soil Loss Equation (USLE) and The Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE) model are commonly used to predict erosion yield in Indonesia. However, these models have several erosivity formulations that give different results. In this sense, identifying the sensitivity of different erosivity formulations in both models above is important. The aim of this study is to analyze soil erosion yield prediction influenced by the difference in erosivity equation on the same rainfall data used in the models while other parameters used are the same. The monthly rainfall and annual rainfall data were tested using the erosivity formulas. The (1) Bols and (2) Utomo equations were tested using monthly rainfall data, while the (3) Bols and (4) Hurni equations were tested using annual rainfall data. The results show that the prediction of soil erosion yields estimates using monthly rainfall data in both models have no significant differences. On the other hand, soil erosion estimates using annual rainfall data in the models have significant differences, whereas the USLE model estimation results in 63% erosion yield on low classification (0-15 ton ha-1 year-1). Meanwhile, the RUSLE model estimates only 59% erosion yield on low classifications. Another result is that the USLE model estimates lower erosion yield than the RUSLE model when the models use annual rainfall data, which may give significantly different recommendations for soil conservation in Indonesia, especially in reducing erosion yield at the Watershed level.

Abstract

This exploration focuses on the effectiveness of the East Semarang Pratama Tax Office (KPP Pratama) in achieving its targets through public education, administrative modernization, and the implementation of tax relaxation. This study positions taxpayer discipline as an intermediary element linking policy to institutional outcomes. By involving all office staff (97 respondents) as research subjects through a census approach, data collected through a questionnaire instrument was processed using the SEM-PLS technique. The research findings confirm that massive outreach, a reliable bureaucratic system, and the tax amnesty program have a strong linear correlation with public compliance behavior. This positive impact simultaneously has implications for strengthening productivity and achieving overall organizational targets.

Abstract

Every employee needs a manager's learning style and a leader's leadership style that can improve employee performance, because with high employee performance, employee performance becomes more focused and organizational goals can be achieved more quickly. This study aims to determine the effect of learning style and leadership style on organizational effectiveness with employee performance as an intervening variable. The type of research used is explanatory research, with a quantitative approach. The sampling technique used is proportionate stratified random sampling, with the determination of the number of samples using the Slovin formula and the number of samples obtained was 78 employees. Data sources were obtained from primary data by distributing questionnaires and secondary data with documentation. This study uses path analysis with the help of SPSS 25.0 software. The results of this study indicate that Manager Learning Style and Leadership Style have a significant effect on Organizational Effectiveness and Employee Performance. Organizational Effectiveness mediates Manager Learning Style and Leadership Style on Employee Performance. The most dominant variable in influencing Organizational Effectiveness and Employee Performance needs to be considered. The variable is Manager Learning Style, with Manager Learning Style, employees feel more motivated and their performance increases.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become a strategic catalyst reshaping the competitive landscape of education, compelling nonformal institutions to develop distinctive and sustainable resource configurations. Indonesia Mind Center (IMC) Semarang faces increasing pressure to adapt its competitive strategy amid rapid digitalization and intensified market competition. This study aims to analyze IMC’s competitive strategy through the lens of the Resource-Advantage Theory of Competition (RATOC), focusing on existing strategic practices, marketing constraints, and effective models of competitive advantage. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with institutional managers and educators, field observations of learning and marketing activities, and analysis of organizational documents. The data were analyzed thematically by aligning empirical findings with key RATOC constructs, including resource heterogeneity, value creation, and the sustainability of competitive advantage.The findings indicate that IMC creates value through teaching expertise, program differentiation, and the adoption of learning technologies. However, limitations in human resources, digital infrastructure, and an insufficiently adaptive organizational structure hinder stable market positioning. RATOC analysis underscores the need for technology-enabled resource orchestration, including learning management systems, performance analytics, and adaptive assessment, as well as value-creating activities such as personalized learning experiences and organizational transformation. The study concludes that IMC’s sustained competitive advantage depends on consistent digital transformation, enhanced staff capabilities, strengthened strategic partnerships, and the development of agile service ecosystems. These findings contribute to competitive strategy theory in education and offer practical insights for nonformal learning institutions in emerging market contexts.

Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of the Multi-Seed Smart Dryer (MSSD) control system. Other research objectives include developing a simple, low-cost, low-energy consumption dryer. The MSSD is designed to be more suitable for seed farmers. The methodology comprises engineering design, fabrication, smart-control development, and implementation. The power supply of 300 W and three (3) fans will generate hot air flow. The dry air flow moves horizontally from the left to right side through 10 rack layers in the drying chamber. Then, racks are arranged vertically to convey the seed. The smart control is designed with two modes and is based on fuzzy logic. The prototype of the dryer was tested using multiple seeds. The results show that MSSD performs well for seed drying. Functional tests using various seeds show that the drying chamber temperature ranges from 32 to 37 °C Meanwhile, relative humidity ranges from 42 to 90%. Furthermore, the germination rate of the dry seed is more than 85%. The system operated stably with an average power consumption of approximately 237 W, below the theoretical demand due to an effective control strategy, indicating energy-efficient and cost-effective drying potential for smallholder farmers under prevailing electricity tariffs (below IDR 2,000/drying cycle). Finally, MSSD can potentially be distributed to farmers for their everyday tasks in seed production.
