Abstract

Abstract

Cnidoscolus aconitifolius (Japanese papaya or chaya) is a tropical plant from the Euphorbiaceae family known for its high nutritional value and diverse biological activities. Several studies have reported antioxidant, antimicrobial, and other biological properties, suggesting the involvement of complex molecular systems. This article presents a conceptual literature review using a systems biology approach to understand Japanese papaya as an integrated biological system in which nutritional components, secondary metabolites, and enzymatic activities interact. By positioning hydrolytic enzyme systems as the central mechanism, this review discusses the potential utilization of Japanese papaya as a biological resource and as a basis for the development of functional derivative products, including biomolecular hydrolysates. Possible applications in mechanism-based bioconversion processes are also briefly addressed.

Abstract

Purpose – This study examines the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven deep learning as both pedagogy and enabling technology within Indonesia’s middle school Informatics curriculum, responding to the shift from teacher-centered instruction toward adaptive, personalized learning. Methods – Using an embedded mixed-method design, the study combined a systematic literature review of 50 Scopus-indexed articles (2020–2025) with a 12-week quasi-experimental intervention at SMP Tahta Syajar, Bekasi. The proposed model comprised an AI-literacy-based learning framework, a Deep Neural Curriculum Loop (DNCL), and an adaptive feedback system. Quantitative data (ANCOVA) were triangulated with qualitative evidence from student portfolios and teacher interviews. Findings – The DNCL model significantly improved student engagement (+27%) and creative problem-solving (+31%) compared to conventional instruction, with large effect sizes for creativity (d = 1.5) and engagement (d = 0.8). AI-supported formative feedback enabled more authentic assessment of 21st-century skills and strengthened human–machine collaboration aligned with the Merdeka Belajar framework. Research Implications – The findings provide empirical support for AI-driven curriculum innovation in Indonesian secondary education; scalability is limited by teacher readiness, infrastructure variability, and the single-site research design.

Abstract

The business and industrial sectors increasingly require Vocational High School (SMK) graduates to possess not only strong hard skills but also advanced soft skills. These competencies can only be developed through innovative and contextual learning practices. Many vocational teachers do not create tailored teaching materials that align with the curriculum, meet the needs of the business sector, and consider the characteristics of their students. To address these challenges, the involvement of learning support teacher, particularly School Supervisors and School Principals, is crucial in enhancing the quality of learning in schools. However, there is currently no structured support model that specifically addresses teachers’ practices, and School Supervisors are not sufficiently engaged as coaching partners within the schools. From interviews, observations, and a survey of a random sample of 51 teachers from 147 vocational non-educational teachers in Palembang City, the average pedagogical understanding was 55.75, hence immediate measures are needed to address teachers with low pedagogical competence. Considering the varying expertise of each school assistant, the collaboration of learning that combines training and guidance with mentoring and optimises individual and group competencies by providing support in the form of coaching is currently the appropriate strategy.

Abstract

Mathematics learning, particularly in sequences and series, faces epistemological, ontogenic, and didactic obstacles that have not been optimally addressed through conventional approaches. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review on the effectiveness of personalized learning approaches supported by interactive flipbook media in learning sequences and series. The study employed the PRISMA method on SCOPUS and SINTA databases for the period 2020-2024. From 64,307 identified articles, 25 articles met the inclusion criteria and were assessed for quality using the CASP-JBI (Critical Appraisal Skills Programme-Joanna Briggs Institute) instrument. The assessment results showed that 25 articles had scores greater than or equal to 7 (high quality), which were then analyzed using thematic content analysis. Findings indicate that effective learning designs must consider learning obstacles through stages of initial situation, exploration, formulation, application, and remediation. The personalized learning approach with interactive flipbooks proved more effective than conventional learning in improving conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and students' problem-solving abilities. Flipbook media supports personalized learning through multimedia integration, interactive elements, and flexible accessibility. The research provides recommendations for developing flipbook media that integrates various learning styles and effective learning approaches such as RME and Discovery Learning.

Abstract

Academic coaching in higher education has grown rapidly, yet evidence remains fragmented. This study aims to map the global research landscape and synthesize key contributions. A mixed bibliometric–systematic review design was employed. First, a bibliometric analysis using Scopus (search date: 8 October 2025; keyword “academic coaching”) identified 2,154 documents. Second, a PRISMA-guided systematic review screened studies explicitly examining academic coaching in higher education, resulting in 31 articles for synthesis. Findings show sharp growth in publications after 2017, dominated by Anglophone countries particularly the United States and the United Kingdom with strong concentration in medical and health professions education. Thematic analysis highlights coaching as a reflective and relational learning strategy that fosters self-regulated learning, professional identity development, and psychosocial well-being. This review contributes novelty by integrating bibliometric mapping with systematic synthesis, offering a comprehensive framework for academic coaching research. Future studies should broaden contexts beyond Anglophone settings and employ longitudinal designs to strengthen evidence

Abstract

Science education at the secondary level increasingly demands interactive, technology-driven approaches to enhance learning quality. This study aims to identify global trends in the use of interactive learning media in secondary school science education from 2020 to 2024. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method following the PRISMA 2020 framework was employed, analyzing 29 peer-reviewed articles selected from the Scopus database using strict inclusion criteria. The results show that web-based media and interactive e-books are the most commonly used types, followed by augmented reality, virtual reality, game-based learning, and simulations. Regarding learning outcomes, cognitive aspects such as conceptual understanding and academic achievement are most frequently reported, followed by critical thinking skills, learning motivation, affective attitudes, creativity, process skills, and scientific literacy. Overall, interactive learning media support not only cognitive development but also motivation and essential 21st-century skills. The findings underscore the importance of integrating interactive media to improve instructional effectiveness and foster comprehensive student competencies in secondary science education.
