Abstract

ABSTRACTReading is the basic capabilities that must be mastered in order to understand the knowledge. In reality, not all children have a good reading skills. To overcome this problem researcher choosed VAKT method. Researcher believed toward VAKT method effective to improve literacy ability on early elementary school students. This study aimed to determine how the influence of  VAKT methods to improve reading ability at the beginning of first grade elementary school students. The subject on this study was the first grade elementary school students. The subject on this study consist of 5 students. Experimental design used in this study is quasi experiment. The data analysed by nonparametric (Wilcoxon). The results showed that VAKT method effective to improve reading skills at the beginning of the first grade students of elementary school. The result showed that (z = -2.023, p= 0,043 (p <0.050). This study concluded that there was a significant difference between the ability to read at the beginning of the first grade students of elementary school before and after treatment. The reading ability at the beginning of the first grade students after the treatment is better than before the treatment. Key words: Implementation VAKT Method, Early Reading Ability

Abstract

TINJAUAN VOLUME PEMELIHARAAN TAHUNAN JALAN REL BERDASARKAN HASIL TRACK QUALITY INDEX (TQI). Jalan rel jalur ganda lintas Manggarai-Bogor diawali dari km 9+890 s/d km 54+810 sepanjang 89,840 km pada jalur hulu dan hilir yang berada di dalam wilayah Daerah Operasi/DAOP I Jakarta dan merupakan lintas utama dengan lebar sepur sempit (1067 mm), melayani operasional lebih dari 200 rangkaian kereta api/hari untuk kereta penumpang dan 4 kali perjalanan kereta barang. Untuk itu maka diperlukan perencanaan volume pemeliharaan tahunan jalan rel jalur ganda lintas Manggarai-Bogor yang sesuai dengan standar kebutuhan pemeliharaan jalan rel berdasarkan daya angkut lintas (passing tonnage) dan klasifikasi jalan kereta api (golongan UIC/Union Internationale des Chemins defer dan kelas jalan rel Indonesia) agar kinerja jalan rel tetap dalam kondisi aman dilewati kereta api selama umur pelayanan rel. Dalam penelitian ini dilakukan analisis volume pemeliharaan jalan rel berdasarkan hasil nilai Track Quality Index (TQI) dari hasil pengukuran Kereta Ukur EM-120 untuk menentukan prosentase kategori masing- masing  nilai TQI dan panjang kategori masing-masing nilai TQI. Setelah itu dilakukan analisis volume pemeliharaan tahunan jalan rel berdasarkan daya angkut lintas/passing tonnage dan klasifikasi jalan kereta api (golongan UIC/Union Internationale des Chemins defer dan kelas jalan  rel  Indonesia).  Hasil  analisis  data  kereta  ukur  lintas  Manggarai-Bogor  berdasarkan kategori nilai TQI jelek (TQI > 50) adalah petak jalan UI-Poc dengan rata-rata nilai TQI 52,03 dengan prosentase 11,24% dan petak jalan dengan kategori nilai TQI baik sekali (TQI < 20) adalah patak jalan Tnt-Lna dengan rata-rata nilai TQI 3,03 dengan prosentase 0,65%. Nilai rata- rata TQI pada petak jalan Ui-Poc berdasarkan type device WSL, LK, LRS, JPL dan BH berturut- turut yaitu 67,20, 42,28, 32,28, 72,00 dan 46,40. Sedangkan nilai rata-rata TQI pada petak jalan Tnt-Lna berdasarkan type device WSL, LK, LRS, JPL dan BH berturut-turut yaitu 0,00, 0,00,15,13, 0,00 dan 0,00. Volume perawatan tahunan didasarkan pada kerusakan petak UI-Poc yaitu sepanjang 1204 m'sp dengan panjang kerusakan pada WSL sepanjang 62,00 m'sp, LK sepanjang 459,00 m'sp, LRS sepanjang 648,00 m'sp, JPL sepanjang 20 m'sp dan BH sepanjang 15,00 m'sp. Untuk mendapatkan hasil perawatan yang sempurna maka perlu dilakukan pemecokan sebanyak 0,70 kali/tahun dan penggantian rel sepanjang 1204 m'sp karena dari hasil hitungan umur rel sudah melebihi batas toleransi.

Abstract

Salak Parijotho: A sign of the cultural identity of Sleman Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, batik is an expression of creativity. The goal of this research was to examine and assess how local residents view Parijotho Salak Batik as Sleman's cultural identity. This study employed a descriptive qualitative method of data collection, which included thorough interviews, participatory observations, and documentation. The younger generation views it as a potentially creative economy that can be developed, while artists and cultural icons see it as a cultural legacy that must be protected. The salak motif, which is typical of this batik, symbolizes Sleman's distinctiveness as the top producer of salak. Additionally, the research revealed obstacles to conservation and growth, such as inadequate promotion, competition with contemporary textile goods, and a scarcity of skilled artisans. The study's conclusion indicates that, while Parijotho Salak Batik has potential as a solid cultural identity, cooperation between the government, creative industry participants, and the community is necessary to maintain and foster it. In the context of modernization and globalization, these results add to a thorough understanding of the dynamics of local cultural identity.

Abstract

The availability of clean water has become a major challenge due to population growth and climate change, despite 97.5% of the Earth's surface consisting of water, only 2.5% is suitable for consumption. Desalination has become an important solution to convert seawater into fresh water. One of the technologies used is the parabolic solar concentrator, which focuses sunlight to a single point to generate steam. Research using a parabola measuring 71.98 cm × 50 cm with a focal point of 62 cm produced 0.88 liters of distilled water with a cooler and 0.23 liters without a cooler. The efficiency increased from 11% to 12.5% with the use of a cooler. Spiral tubes also help to reduce the temperature of the outgoing steam, enhancing the effectiveness of the system.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to support the Indonesian National Police (Polri) transformation program toward a PRESISI institution (Predictive, Responsibility, and Fair Transparency) through the strengthening of communication strategies and visualization. The program involved 50 members of the Bekasi Police as training participants, focusing on enhancing public communication capacity and the utilization of visual media as an effective tool for delivering messages to the community. The methods applied included participatory training, interactive lectures, and simulations in designing visual messages aligned with the PRESISI principles. The results indicated an improvement in participants’ understanding and skills in managing institutional communication that is educational, informative, and persuasive. Moreover, participants were able to design simple yet communicative visual content to support the dissemination of Polri’s policies and programs to the public. Abstract

In today’s digital era, learning English is not only from textbooks or traditional classes. This study explores how making educational vlogs can help non-English students, especially D3 Informatics, to improve their speaking skills. Using a qualitative case study, the research investigates students’ perceptions and evaluates the use of vlogging focusing on effective and creative media, impact on speaking skills, motivation and enjoyment, teacher and peer support, suggestions for improvement, and challenges. Data were collected from interviews with 5 (five) students chosen from 20 (twenty) participants, using purposive sampling based on the rank of the students. The results show that students have very positive perceptions. They see vlog creation as creative, modern, and more interesting than usual speaking practice. By making vlogs, students prepare scripts, choose words carefully, and practice pronunciation, which helps them speak more fluently and with more confidence. Students also feel more motivated because vlog making is like a real-life project, so it is more enjoyable and meaningful. Support from teachers and friends is also very important. Teachers give topic ideas, help with pronunciation, and give feedback. Friends help by giving suggestions and helping with editing. Even though students face some problems, like nervousness, limited vocabulary, and technical issues, they believe these are normal parts of learning. In conclusion, students believe educational vlog creation is a useful and fun way to practice speaking. It is not only helps them speak better but also improves creativity, digital skills, and teamwork.

Abstract

Water Hammer adalah sebuah fenomena lonjakan tekanan yang timbul dari perubahan kecepatan aliran secara tiba-tiba, menimbulkan tegangan yang signifikan yang dapat merusak semua equipment yang terdapat di jalur pemipaan. Untuk mengantisipasi hal tersebut maka diperlukan suatu sistem untuk meminimalisir terjadinya water hammer. Studi ini dilakukan pada gedung apartemen yang memiliki ketinggian 200 meter dengan menggunkan pompa vertical multistage dari brand xylem-lowara dengan head pompa 18 Bar dan flow 45 m3/jam. Jenis pipa yang digunakan GIP medium dan menggunakan non return valve dari brand claval. Telah dilakukan perhitungan secara software cla-cav mendapatkan hasil tekanan balik pada saat power blank out sebesar 404 Psi atau 27 Bar, serta dibuktikan melalui perhitungan teoritis dengan menghitung potensi pressure drop dari pipa, dan elbow yang mendapatkan hasil 375.84Psi atau 25.92 Bar. Hasil penelitian ini dinyatakan layak fungsi dan memenuhi kriteria yang dibutuhkan.

Abstract

In the face of rapid technological advancements and socio-economic disruptions, digital community ecosystems must develop resilience to ensure sustainability and adaptability. This study investigates how digital applications, information systems, and brand experience contribute to building resilience in Indonesia's land transportation sector. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected from 350 valid responses through online structured questionnaires targeting users of land transportation services, such as buses, trains, and ride-hailing platforms in Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya. The sampling was purposive, involving users with prior experience using digital transportation apps. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The findings indicate that system quality and information quality significantly influence brand experience, which in turn affects user engagement. Furthermore, user engagement plays a crucial role in enhancing the resilience of the digital community ecosystem. The study confirms that brand experience partially mediates the effect of system and information quality on engagement. Implications of the study emphasize the importance for transportation providers to prioritize high-quality, user-centric digital services that foster emotional connection and trust, which are essential to sustaining adaptive and resilient community platforms in the face of urban transportation challenges.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to design and build a control and monitoring system for runway edge lights using Power Line Carrier (PLC). This system is designed to overcome the limitations of manual methods in inspecting runway lights, which are time-consuming and labour-intensive, especially in airport environments with large areas. The system uses an ESP8266 microcontroller, a PZEM-004T sensor module for monitoring electrical parameters, and a Power Line Adapter as the data transmission medium. Test results indicate that the system can transmit and receive data over a distance of ±70 metres with an average response time of 7–10 seconds. The sensor can also detect voltage and current with an error rate below 5%, demonstrating the system's accuracy and reliability. As a result, the system enhances the efficiency and effectiveness of technicians in monitoring runway edge light conditions and has the potential for further development in broader applications within the fields of electrical engineering and aviation.  Keywords:  Power Line Carrier, Runway Edge Light, Monitoring, ESP8266, PZEM-004T Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membangun sistem kontrol serta monitoring lampu runway edge menggunakan Power Line Carrier (PLC) untuk mengatasi keterbatasan metode manual yang memerlukan waktu dan tenaga, khususnya di bandara dengan area luas. Sistem ini memanfaatkan mikrokontroler ESP8266, modul sensor PZEM-004T untuk pemantauan parameter listrik, serta Power Line Adapter sebagai media transmisi data. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu mengirim dan menerima data hingga jarak ±70 meter dengan waktu respons rata-rata 7–10 detik, sementara sensor mendeteksi tegangan dan arus dengan tingkat kesalahan di bawah 5%, menandakan keakuratan dan keandalan sistem. Abstract

Abstract: Power factor is the most important parameter in an electrical system AC electrical systems because it affects the efficiency of energy transmission and operational costs. Understanding power factor correction should be taught not only theoretically but also through practice so that students can directly understand its application. To support this learning, a power factor correction system was designed using a capacitor bank with an automatic switching mechanism. This study used a descriptive quantative method to describe the process of designing and testing the system. The system employs a PZEM-004T sensor to read electrical parameters, then automatically calculates the required power factor correction and activates capacitor combinations through a 4-channel relay module. The measurement results are displayed on an LCD and cam be monitored through the Blynk application based on the Internet of Things. Testing showed that the system successfully increased the power factor from an initial value below 0.75 to above 0.84. With automatic switching and IoT-based monitoring features, this tool is expected to be effective as an interactive learning simulator to understand the principles of power factor correction. Keyword: Power Factor Correction, Capacitor Bank, Internet of Things Abstrak: Faktor daya merupakan parameter terpenting yang ada pada sistem kelistrikan AC karena memengaruhi efisiensi penyaluran energi dan biaya operasional. Pemahaman mengenai koreksi faktor daya perlu diajarkan tidak hanya secara teoritis, tetapi juga melalui praktik agar mahasiswa dapat memahami penerapannya secara langsung. Untuk mendukung pembelajaran tersebut, dirancang sebuah sistem perbaikan faktor daya berbasis kapasitor bank dengan mekanisme switching otomatis. Penelitian ini akan menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif untuk menggambarkan proses perancangan dan pengujian sistem. Sistem menggunakan sensor PZEM-004T untuk membaca parameter kelistrikan, kemudian sistem secara otomatis menghitung kebutuhan perbaikan faktor daya dan mengaktifkan kombinasi kapasitor melalui modul relay 4 channel. Hasil pembacaan parameter kelistrikan ditampilkan pada LCD serta dapat dipantau melalui aplikasi Blynk berbasis Internet of Things. Pengujian menunjukkan bahwa sistem berhasil meningkatkan faktor daya dari nilai awal di bawah 0,75 menjadi di atas 0,84. Dengan fitur switching otomatis dan monitoring berbasis IoT, alat ini diharapkan efektif digunakan sebagai simulator pembelajaran yang interaktif untuk memahami prinsip koreksi faktor daya. Kata kunci: Perbaikan Faktor Daya, Kapasitor Bank, Internet of Things
