Abstract

Pencarian artikel dilakukan melalui search engine ScienceDirect, Portal Garuda dan ProQuest dengan kata kunci: “pandemi COVID-19” OR “kunjungan ibu balita” OR “posyandu”.

Abstract

Background: Growth failure among children under five years remains a key public health issue in Indonesia and requires appropriate measurement indicators. Conventional parameters such as stunting, wasting, or underweight might not adequately address the multidimensionality of malnutrition. Therefore, the Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure (CIAF) and the Extended Composite Index of Anthropometric Failure (E-CIAF) will provide a better, more detailed, and inclusive population-level representation of growth failure. Objectives: To determine the frequency of growth failure among Indonesian children under five based on CIAF and E-CIAF among the population and in a regionalized setting, and to identify the more sensitive indicator. Methods: Secondary data were obtained from the Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) 2022, which included 281,651 children (aged 0–59 months) in 34 provinces. Nutritional status was assessed using anthropometric failure classification by CIAF and E-CIAF. The difference in prevalence in different regions was ascertained by Chi-square testing, and significance was defined as a p-value<0.05. Results: E-CIAF had a higher rate of failure of Indonesian child growth than CIAF (27.0% vs 25.0%). Prevalence of non-Java-Bali kids was high as compared to the Java–Bali region (E-CIAF=28.1%, CIAF=26.9%). In the Eastern region of Indonesia, it had the high prevalence (E-CIAF) (32.0%, CIAF 30.8%). Conclusions: The finding suggested that E-CIAF is more sensitive than CIAF for assessing growth failure. The highest burden of this disease occurs outside Java Bali in Eastern Indonesia, stressing the importance of localized nutrition interventions.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: The disparity in maternal mortality rates (MMR) between developed countries and low-middle income countries was very large, including in Indonesia. One of the differences between the two was the ultrasound examination that had been used for a long time in developed countries. Semarang was one of the capital city that had implemented ultrasound examination as one of the examinations for pregnant women since 2022. To determine the implementation of ultrasound examination as an early detection of pregnancy complications at primary health care (PHC) in Semarang. Qualitative research with a case study research design. Research data were obtained through interviews, observations, and other documents collected in the period September-December 2024 at 4 PHCs in Semarang. Ultrasound examinations at PHCs were good, but there were several examination indicators that had not been carried out optimally. Two factors that influence its implementation were human resources (HR) and infrastructure. Constraints on HR include uneven distribution, mutations of trained doctors, and varying training curricula. Meanwhile, the constraints encountered in infrastructure were technical constraints on ultrasound equipment, the response of the equipment provider vendor, and the ultrasound room that were not yet up to standard. Improvement efforts were needed in the aspects of human resources and infrastructure in order to improve the quality of USG examination services at PHCs in Semarang. Keywords: Obstetric Ultrasound, Antenatal Care, Primary Health Care.

Abstract

Neonatal mortality in Indonesia continues to increase, especially during the first 0-6 days of life, indicating persistent gaps in the quality of maternal and neonatal care. The maternal perinatal surveillance and response audit (AMP-SR) is implemented to identify causes of death and guide preventive and curative actions. This scoping review aims to explore the causes and risk factors of neonatal mortality using the AMP-SR framework. Article searches were conducted in Google Scholar, Garuda, and PubMed using the keywords (“Neonatal Death” OR “Cause of Death” OR “Kematian Neonatal”) AND (“AMP-SR” OR “Death Notification”). Inclusion criteria comprised primary studies published in Indonesian or English between 2021 and 2025 that examined neonatal deaths using the AMP-SR approach. Seventeen articles were selected and thematically analyzed following the PRISMA guidelines. The main causes of neonatal death were clinical conditions, including asphyxia, prematurity, sepsis, hypothermia, and congenital abnormalities. Identified risk factors encompassed maternal age, pregnancy complications, referral delays, inadequate quality of care, and limited health worker competence. Most neonatal deaths occurred within the first 72 hours of life, predominantly among male infants with low birth weight or gestational age under 37 weeks. These findings demonstrate that neonatal mortality results from interconnected medical, maternal, and health system factors that can be systematically identified through AMP-SR. From a policy and practice perspective, strengthening the routine use of AMP-SR findings to inform targeted quality improvement, referral system strengthening, and workforce capacity-building is essential to reduce preventable neonatal deaths in Indonesia.

Abstract

Anxiety in the third-trimester pregnancy can affect the physical and psychological aspects of the mother and fetus. Until now, there has been no study comparing yoga sequences that are effective in reducing anxiety levels in third-trimester primigravida. The yoga sequence will cause the heart rate to return to normal after finishing exercising, and the body will feel more comfortable. This study aims to determine the effect of antepartum yoga sequences on anxiety levels, vital sign values, and fetal heart rate in third-trimester primigravida. This study was quasi experiments with a pretest posttest control group design conducted in January-April 2022. The sampling technique used cluster sampling to determine the intervention group and control group. The intervention group was given antepartum yoga sequences for six sessions with a duration of 60 minutes, consisting of 18 respondents in A group model and 18 respondents in B group model. The control group consisting of 18 respondents, received pregnancy exercise for six sessions with a duration of 60 minutes. Data analysis using T-test. The results showed differences in the control group for anxiety (p-value = 0.042), pulse (p-value = 0.021) and respiratory frequency (0.032). In the intervention group model A, there were differences in anxiety, diastolic blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate with p-values of 0.032, 0.005, 0.005, and 0.005, respectively. While in the intervention group model B, there were significant differences in anxiety, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, and fetal heart rate, namely p-values of 0.005, 0.002, 0004, 0.005, 0.005, 0.005. The results of this study can be used by midwifery service providers as one of the complementary treatments for reducing anxiety experienced by third-trimester primigravida mothers, namely by giving antepartum yoga, which is done for 60 minutes.
