Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Inquiry and Discovery Learning learning models assisted by e-books on the critical thinking skills of fifth-grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of three groups, namely the class using the Inquiry model, the class using the Discovery Learning model, and the control class using conventional learning. Data collection techniques were carried out through critical thinking ability tests. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using ANOVA. The results showed that the data were normally distributed and homogeneous. Hypothesis testing showed significant differences between the three groups, with a significance value <0.05. The Inquiry learning model has a higher effectiveness than Discovery Learning, but both models are proven to be more effective than conventional learning in improving students' critical thinking skills. The use of e-books as a learning medium also makes a positive contribution in increasing student motivation and involvement in the learning process. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Inquiry and Discovery Learning learning models assisted by e-books are effective in improving elementary school students' critical thinking skills. Therefore, teachers are advised to implement innovative learning models supported by technology to improve the quality of learning.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effectiveness of using the Project Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by visual media on grade II mathematics learning outcomes at SDN Karanganyar Gunung 02. This research is a type of quantitative research with a Pre-Experimental Designs research design type OneGroup Pretest-Posttest Design. Data analysis in this study used normality test, one sample t-test, ttest and n-gain test. The normality test is obtained based on pretest values of 0.184 > 0.05. While the results of the postest value showed that 0.398> 0.05. From the normality test result data, it can be concluded that the pretest and postest values have been normally distributed. The one sample t-test concluded that t_hitung = 3,360 > t_tabel = 2,069 or sig. 0.003< 0.05 then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. The t-test is obtained based on sig (2-tailed) 0.000 to 0.000 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the results of learning mathematics students before and after the implementation of Project Based Learning (PBL) assisted by visual media on pretest and posttest results. A 2-tailed sig value of 0.000 < 0.05 then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. N-Gain Percent obtained 126.0813. Of the existing values between the range of values >76, values located >76 are included in the effective category.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to characterize the sorts of errors that occur when solving math narrative problems, as well as the factors that contribute to such errors. Understanding the problem, preparing the solution, carrying out a solution plan, and re-examining are the four stages of completing narrative problems based on the polya step. The subjects of this study were third-grade children from SD N Karang Rejo 02. This study uses a qualitative method and is a form of descriptive study. The interview and observation methods were employed as research methods. The findings of the study revealed that third-grade students at SD N Karang Rejo 02 made four types of errors when solving math story problems: 1. The majority of pupils were able to understand the questions at this point, although there were a few kids who struggled. 2. Most students have been unable to create their plans at the planning stage due to a lack of knowledge, accuracy, and concentration. 3. Because the preceding phases were not carried out precisely, most students are unable to implement the plan at this point. 4. The majority of pupils do not reach the re-examination stage since they did not complete the prior level.
