Abstract

Abstract

Soil-transmitted helminth (STH) infections remain a significant public health issue in developing countries, particularly among primary school children who are highly exposed to contaminated environments and often have inadequate personal hygiene practices. This study aimed to describe the presence of STH eggs in fecal samples of first- to third-grade students at SDN 23 Pasir Sebelah, located in Koto Tangah District, an area with historically high helminth infection rates. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used, involving total sampling of 124 students. Fecal specimens were examined microscopically using the direct smear method. Results showed that 6 students (6.9%) tested positive for STH eggs. The species identified included Ascaris lumbricoides (50%), Trichuris trichiura (40%), and hookworm (10%). Infections were more frequently found in male students and those aged 7–8 years. Most infected children demonstrated poor personal hygiene, particularly related to handwashing, nail cleanliness, and consistent use of footwear. In conclusion, the prevalence of STH infection among students at SDN 23 Pasir Sebelah was relatively low; however, inadequate personal hygiene remains a key contributing factor. Strengthening health education and promoting proper hygiene practices are essential to reduce the risk of STH transmission in school-aged children

Abstract

Significant differences in food crop productivity in each sub-district in Banyumas are a major concern that needs to be addressed. This handling is specifically given to sub-districts with low productivity categories. However, the sub-district groups according to their categories are not yet known. Therefore, this study aims to group sub-districts in Banyumas Regency based on food crop productivity. Grouping is done using the K-Means Clustering method. The data used are data on the harvest productivity of five food crop commodities according to sub-districts in Banyumas Regency in 2023. The results obtained that there are five clusters with three clusters having at least one type of food crop that is less productive and two clusters which all types of food crops are productive.

Abstract

Differential equations are a branch of mathematics that are widely used to solve various problems in real life. In the context of population, differential equations are used to model and project the population in a region in a certain period. This Field Work Practice (PKL) Report aims to analyze population growth in Kuningan Regency using a logistic growth model and project the population in Kuningan Regency in 2025-2035. The data used is population data in Kuningan Regency in 2015-2024 obtained from the Kuningan Regency Central Statistics Agency. Based on the calculation results, nine logistic models were obtained with an environmental carrying capacity value of 1,266,373 people. Model VI was selected as the best model with a relative growth rate per year of 16.82% and a MAPE value of 1.34%. The model projects that the population of Kuningan Regency will continue to increase from 1,220,996 in 2025 to approximately 1,257,682 in 2035
