Abstract

This study aims to analyze the development of students’ religious character through the routine practice of congregational zuhur prayer at SMK Muhammadiyah Sumowono, Semarang Regency. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the routine practice of congregational zuhur prayer, implemented in a structured and consistent manner, plays an effective role in shaping students’ religious character, particularly in aspects of discipline, compliance with rules, and religious awareness within the school environment. Daily habituation of worship encourages the internalization of religious values, which is reflected in changes in students’ behavior, such as readiness to perform prayers without teacher instruction and increased responsibility in carrying out religious obligations. The success of religious character formation is supported by synergy among the school, teachers, parents, and the availability of adequate and sustainable worship facilities. Thus, the routine practice of congregational zuhur prayer functions not only as a ritual obligation but also as an instrument of religious character education in Islamic-based vocational high schools. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan merumuskan konsep pendidikan Islam untuk anak melalui sintesis pemikiran dua tokoh besar Islam klasik, Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jauziyyah dan Imam Al-Ghazali. Latar belakang penelitian ini didorong oleh problematika pendidikan anak kontemporer yang cenderung berorientasi pada aspek kognitif dan akademik, namun mengabaikan dimensi moral, spiritual, dan pembentukan karakter. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan menganalisis karya utama kedua tokoh, yakni Tuhfatul Maudud dan Ayyuhal Walad, serta literatur pendukung lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa baik Ibnu Qayyim maupun Al-Ghazali menekankan pentingnya pendidikan holistik yang mencakup pengembangan akal, hati, dan jasmani secara seimbang. Metode pendidikan anak yang dikemukakan meliputi pembiasaan, keteladanan, nasihat, hukuman edukatif, serta keterlibatan anak dalam perbuatan baik (learning by doing). Al-Ghazali juga menawarkan pendekatan korektif berupa teguran, peringatan, dan pemberian hadiah yang dilakukan secara bijak dan proporsional. Konsep-konsep tersebut terbukti relevan dengan paradigma pendidikan modern seperti whole child education, positive discipline, dan experiential learning. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pendekatan pendidikan anak berbasis fitrah dan akhlak sebagaimana diajarkan oleh Ibnu Qayyim dan Al-Ghazali dapat menjadi solusi konseptual terhadap krisis pendidikan karakter saat ini. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pengembangan kurikulum dan panduan parenting berbasis nilai-nilai Islam klasik ini untuk membentuk generasi yang tidak hanya cerdas secara intelektual, tetapi juga kuat secara moral dan spiritual.

Abstract

Gender equality remains a pertinent issue across diverse social contexts, encompassing Western and Islamic teachings. Mary Wollstonecraft, a prominent advocate for gender equality in the West, contended that women should possess individual freedom without male domination. In Indonesia, Aisyiyah, a progressive women's movement, posits that gender equality should be examined not only through religious and spiritual lenses but also through political, economic, and educational dimensions. This research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a literature study method to analyze various books, articles, and reports relevant to the topic. Despite their differing cultural and religious perspectives, both Aisyiyah and Mary Wollstonecraft assert that education is fundamental to achieving gender equality. This article explores Aisyiyah's perspective as a progressive women's movement to critically analyze Mary Wollstonecraft's concept of gender equality, which is often perceived as being incompatible with the Islamic worldview. The findings of this study aim to offer an Islamic perspective from Aisyiyah that addresses the challenges posed by Western secular thought.   Kesetaraan gender merupakan topik yang selalu relevan dalam berbagai konteks sosial, baik di Barat maupun dalam ajaran Islam. Salah satu tokoh kesetaraan gender di Barat, Mary Wollstonecraft yang memperkasai perjuangan perempuan untuk kesetaraan gender berpendapat bahwa perempuan perlu memiliki kebebasannya secara individu tanpa diatur oleh laki-laki. Aisyiyah sebagai gerakan perempuan berkemajuan di Indonesia menyoroti kesetaraan gender tidak hanya dapat dilihat dari perfektif agama dan spiritual, tetapi juga dari berbagai aspek lain seperti politik, ekonomi dan pendidikan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kepustakaan, yang berfokus untuk menganalisis berbagai buku, artikel, dan laporan yang memiliki keterkaitan dengan topik yang dibahas. Meskipun keduanya mengusung pandangan yang berbeda dalam konteks budaya dan agama, baik Aisyiyah maupun Mary Wollstonecraft berpendapat bahwa pendidikan adalah kunci utama untuk mencapai kesetaraan gender. Artikel ini menyajikan perspektif Aisyiyah sebagai gerakan perempuan berkemajuan untuk menganalisis konsep kesetaraan gender menurut Mary Wollstonecraft, yang dianggap tidak sesuai dengan pandangan hidup Islam. Temuan dalam kajian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pandangan hidup Islam dari perspektif Aisyiyah yang mampu menjawab tantangan pemikiran Barat sekuler.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the psychological characteristics of the Children of Israel as described in the Qur'an through an analysis of Sayyid Qutb's Fi Zilal al-Qur'an, with a focus on collective behavior patterns and historical factors that shaped their characteristics, such as rebelliousness, materialistic tendencies, racial arrogance, inconsistency in faith, and dependence on worldly power. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach, combining thematic analysis of Qur'anic verses and a psychological-historical approach to understand their psychological dynamics in the context of oppression and liberation. The results of the study show that, according to Sayyid Qutb, the character of the Children of Israel was the result of collective trauma caused by slavery in Egypt, which gave rise to spiritual inferiority, defiance of God's commands, and a materialistic orientation that shifted divine values. racial and intellectual arrogance reflects a deviation in understanding the concept of the “chosen people,” while inconsistency in faith represents spiritual hypocrisy that weakens monotheism. Qutb viewed this pattern as a universal phenomenon that serves as a warning to all of humanity not to get caught up in formal religious practices without spiritual depth. The main value of this research lies in its contribution to enriching thematic interpretation studies through a psychological-historical approach, emphasizing the relationship between human inner conditions and historical experiences in the formation of religious character, and encouraging Muslims to cultivate authentic, humble faith oriented towards the mandate of revelation, rather than outward symbols or claims of group superiority.

Abstract

Character education plays a crucial role in shaping students' social ethics and responsibilities, particularly within the context of school education. This systematic literature review analyzes studies from Scopus-indexed journals to assess the impact of character education on the development of moral values such as honesty, discipline, and responsibility among high school students. The review highlights various character education models, especially those grounded in religious values like Islam, which have shown positive effects on students' ethical behavior and social responsibility. Research indicates that schools implementing character education programs report significant improvements in students' social behaviors, such as increased pro-social actions and a reduction in negative behaviors. However, the implementation of such programs faces several challenges, including a lack of teacher training, limited relevant instructional materials, and difficulties integrating religious teachings into subjects like science and mathematics. Additionally, cultural diversity and time constraints are significant barriers to effective implementation. Despite these challenges, the empirical evidence suggests that when schools integrate character education effectively, it not only enhances students' academic performance but also fosters responsible, ethical individuals. The review also proposes strategies to overcome these challenges, emphasizing the importance of teacher training, curriculum integration, and the collaboration between schools, families, and communities. This study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of how character education influences student ethics and responsibility and offers policy recommendations for enhancing its effectiveness in schools worldwide.

Abstract

This paper critically examines the Islamic civilization from two distinctive yet complementary perspectives: Ahmad Syalabi's historical approach and A. Malik Fadjar's educational reorientation framework. Ahmad Syalabi provides a comprehensive historical narrative of Islamic civilization, emphasizing the periodization and cultural achievements of Muslim societies. Meanwhile, A. Malik Fadjar offers a progressive educational paradigm through his concept of "Reorientasi Pendidikan Islam," which integrates traditional Islamic values with modern educational needs. This study employs a qualitative library research method to synthesize both perspectives and their implications for contemporary Islamic education, particularly within the Muhammadiyah context. The findings reveal that understanding Islamic civilization through historical lenses while simultaneously embracing educational innovation represents a balanced approach toward achieving "Islam Berkemajuan" (Progressive Islam) in the 21st century.

Abstract

This study examines the application of the ta'dib paradigm from Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas in overcoming academic anxiety among college students. Academic anxiety is often a barrier that affects students' emotional well-being and academic performance. Although considered part of the learning process, poorly managed anxiety can adversely affect the quality of learning. The ta'dib paradigm, which integrates intellectual, moral, and spiritual aspects, offers a holistic approach to education that can create a balance between academic achievement and students' emotional well-being. Through this adab-based approach, students are taught to manage anxiety, build good character, and maintain a balance between academic pressure and emotional management. This research shows that the application of ta'dib can create a healthier and more supportive educational environment, as well as help students manage academic anxiety more effectively. The study also proposes the need to integrate moral and spiritual aspects in higher education to create individuals who are balanced and able to face academic challenges more calmly.

Abstract

دراسة فقه المقاصدي تنال اهتماما بالغا من العلماء المعاصرين، وذلك نظرا لأهميته في التعامل مع مستجدات الوقائع لاسيما في تناول قضايا نوازل الاقتصاد الإسلامي التي تتسع مجالاتها وتتفرع أغصان فروعها وتتعدد مشكلاتها وتكثر الأسئلة عن حكمها. ومن العلماء البارزين الذين لهم اهتمام بالغ وأبحاث موفقة هو العالم الشيخ عبد الله بن الشيخ المحفوظ بن بيه حفظه الله تعالي، فإن مؤلفاته شاهدة علي أنه خبير في البحث والتدقيق لعلم المقاصد. ومؤلفاته في تناول مستجدات الاقتصاد الإسلامي وربطها بالنظر في المقاصد كثيرة وموفورة. وعلي ذلك لفت نظر الباحث للبحث والتحقيق في نظرياته المقاصدي في التعامل مع مستجدات الاقتصاد الإسلامي وتطبيقها في بيع دفع الثمن عند تسليم السلعة (COD)، لأنه من مستجدات الاقتصاد الإسلامي التي تكثر السؤال عن حكمه. وسوف يتناول الباحث في هذا البحث عما يلي: ما هي أهمية علم المقاصد في البحث والنظر لأمور المستجدات والنوازل في المعاملات المعاصرة؟، كيف يكون تطبيق علم المقاصد عند تناول المستجدات والنوازل في الاقتصاد الإسلامي عند الشيخ عبدالله بن الشيخ المحفوظ بن بيه؟. وهذا البحث بحث مكتبي، ينتهج فيه الباحث منهج الاستقرائي التحليلي الوصفي. ومن أهم نتائج البحث التي توصل إليه الباحث : يظهر لنا أهمية علم المقاصد في البحث والنظر لأمور المستجدات والنوازل في الاقتصاد الإسلامي عند الشيخ عبد الله بن الشيخ المحفوظ بن بيه، ويظهر لنا حكم بيع دفع الثمن عند تسليم السلعة من خلال نظرية المقاصدي للشيخ عبد الله بن بيه.

Abstract

Pendidikan akhlak bertujuan membimbing individu kepada perilaku yang baik hingga menjadikannya kebiasaan. Sekolah berperan penting dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai akhlak bagi peserta didik. Al-Quran dan hadits menjadi sumber utama dalam membangun akhlak mulia, salah satunya kitab hadits Arba'in An-Nawawi. Penggunaan kitab hadits Arba'in An-Nawawi dalam pembelajaran akhlak dapat menjadi salah satu cara untuk menanamkan karakter siswa sesuai ajaran Rasulullah saw. Penelitian ini berupaya untuk mengkaji nilai-nilai pendidikan akhlak dalam kitab hadits Arba'in An-Nawawi, relevansi serta integrasinya dalam pembelajaran akhlak yang fokusnya pada Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan. Data dikumpulkan melalui dokumentasi dan dianalisis dengan teknik analisis isi, berupa pengumpulan, klasifikasi, dan interpretasi data untuk mengkaji nilai-nilai akhlak dalam Hadits Arba'in serta relevansi dan peluang integrasinya dalam pembelajaran akhlak di madrasah. Temuan penelitian mengidentifikasi terdapat 14 nilai akhlak dalam Hadits Arba'in An-Nawawi yang sebagian besarnya relevan dengan materi Akidah Akhlak di Madrasah Tsanawiyah, dan mengindikasi bahwa nilai-nilai tersebut dapat diintegrasikan dalam pembelajaran akhlak melalui perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Penilitian ini dapat menjadi dasar kuat dalam pembentukan karakter peserta didik sesuai ajaran Rasulullah saw. serta menjadi landasan pengembangan kurikulum pembelajaran di sekolah.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the contribution of 'Aisyiyah Women to social development in Central Java in the contemporary era, with an emphasis on their strategies, challenges, and adaptations in the fields of education, health, and economic empowerment.Methodology: A literature research approach was used to analyze the social contribution of 'Aisyiyah in Central Java in 2019-2025. Data is collected from a variety of sources, such as books, journals, and official reports. The analysis was carried out based on the theory of women's empowerment from Naila Kabeer and the theory of social change from Anthony Giddens, to disseminate the impact and transformation produced by the social contribution of 'Aisyiyah to women's empowerment and social change.Results: The findings of the study show that 'Aisyiyah in Central Java plays an important role in women's empowerment and improvement of community welfare through skills training programs, health initiatives, and educational services, especially through PAUD Bustanul Athfal (ABA). More than 15,000 women have participated in entrepreneurship training, which has had a significant impact on their economic independence. In addition, the organization also addresses social issues such as gender equality, health, and poverty through extensive service programs.Application/Originality/Value: This research highlights 'Aisyiyah's response to contemporary challenges such as globalization, technological advancements, and cultural change, stating that the organization's relevance is maintained thanks to its innovative strategies, including digital engagement and collaborative partnerships with government agencies. The results of this study provide valuable insights to understand the role of women's organizations in driving social change and women's empowerment in Indonesia.
