Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the deep learning approach implementation program at Mesuji 1 State Junior High School in November 2025 using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) model to support the 21st century learning transformation. The deep learning approach is defined as an in-depth learning methodology that integrates exploration, conceptual understanding, and critical application based on artificial intelligence, aligned with the Independent Curriculum and the 8 graduate profiles. This research was descriptive qualitative with purposive sampling of the principal and two teachers, collecting data through semi-structured interviews and observations. The evaluation showed that the program context was highly relevant to national education policy (100% of respondents); input achieved 70% adequacy with effective teacher training but was hampered by ICT infrastructure; the implementation process was optimal through problem-based learning (PBL) and student-centered simulations despite time constraints and student heterogeneity; and the product resulted in a 15-20% increase in learning achievement, student motivation, and graduate profile achievement, albeit partially due to limited training. This program is innovative in advancing digital education, but requires holistic investment for sustainability, with theoretical contributions to the evaluation of deep learning at the junior high school level as well as practical implications as a reference for replication.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to comprehensively describe the role of academic supervision in improving teacher professionalism at Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan Negeri (SMKN) in Mesuji District, Lampung Province. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach with survey methods to measure the level of influence between the two variables. The population consisted of 173 teachers from various SMKNs in the district, and a sample of 120 teachers was determined using the Taro Yamane formula with proportional random sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire that assessed indicators of academic supervision—such as planning, implementation, follow-up, and feedback—and aspects of teacher professionalism, including pedagogical competence, discipline, innovation, and responsibility. The collected data were analyzed using prerequisite tests and hypothesis testing through regression analysis. The results reveal that academic supervision has a positive and significant effect on improving teacher professionalism. Effective supervision encourages teachers to reflect on their teaching practices, develop creative learning strategies, and maintain continuous professional growth. Therefore, consistent and constructive academic supervision can be considered a key managerial function for enhancing teacher performance, instructional quality, and ultimately, the overall effectiveness of vocational education in Mesuji District, Lampung. Abstract

Alternative energy learning in high school is still dominated by theoretical and teacher-centered approaches, thus not providing enough space for students to develop higher-order thinking skills, especially Creative Problem Solving (CPS). The integration of the STEM approach through Project-Based Learning (PjBL) has the potential to support more contextual and problem-oriented learning. However, learning development needs to be based on a systematic needs analysis. This study aims to describe the needs of teachers towards the development of STEM-PjBL-based learning in improving students' creative problem solving on the topic of alternative energy. This study involved 27 Physics teachers in Lampung Province. The method used in this study was a quantitative method. Data were collected using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The results of the needs analysis showed that 33% of teachers used the STEM-PjBL learning model, around 48.1% of teachers used STEM-PjBL integrated student worksheets (LKPD), and 63% of teachers still used printed books as learning resources. The teaching materials used have not been able to improve students' creative problem-solving, where 96.3% of teachers needed student worksheets that could improve these abilities. Based on the results of the needs analysis that has been carried out, most teachers showed a positive perception towards the development of STEM-PjBL-based learning to improve students' creative problem-solving on the topic of alternative energy.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate a Project-Based Learning integrated with STEM (PjBL-STEM) learning program oriented toward deep learning principles—encompassing mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning—within the IPAS (Natural and Social Sciences) subject for tenth-grade vocational high school students. Motivated by the persistent gap between conventional instructional practice and the competency demands of Industry 4.0, the study developed a structured instructional package consisting of a Deep Learning Lesson Plan (Perencanaan Pembelajaran Mendalam/PPM), student worksheets (LKPD), and supporting handouts, all anchored in the PjBL-STEM framework applied to electromagnetic induction as a sustainable energy technology context. The research employed a mixed-method approach guided by the four-stage 4D instructional development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The study involved two classes of tenth-grade students enrolled in the Electrical Power Installation Engineering program (X TITL-1 as experimental group; X TITL-2 as control group) at a public vocational high school in Bandar Lampung during the 2025/2026 academic year. Expert validation by three specialists yielded an overall validity score of 91.9% for the lesson plan and 91.5% for the student worksheets and handouts, both classified as highly valid. Teacher practicality evaluation indicated an overall score of 90.7%, categorized as excellent. Effectiveness analysis using the normalized gain (N-Gain) index revealed that the experimental group achieved a mean N-Gain of 0.90 (high category) for performance skills and 1.00 (high category) for creativity, compared with 0.30 and 0.45, respectively, for the control group receiving conventional instruction. These findings establish that integrating PjBL-STEM with deep learning principles produces a valid, practical, and effective instructional framework capable of significantly enhancing vocational students' creativity and practical performance competencies relevant to contemporary technological challenges.
