Abstract

Self-regulated learning can be explained as a state of learners actively and organized involved in monitoring and regulating cognition and behavior during the learning process, which affects the achievement of learning goals. Self-regulated learning ability is essential for students to achieve optimal academic performance. The research used was a survey using quantitative methods involving 103 prospective mathematics teachers. Data were collected using the self-regulated learning scale developed by Purdie et al. which identified ten dimensions of self-regulated learning, namely self-evaluation, organizing and transforming, goal setting and planning, seeking information, keeping records and monitoring, environmental structuring, self-consequences, rehearsing and memorizing, seeking social assistance and reviewing records. The results of this study indicate that prospective mathematics teachers have moderate self-regulated learning. This research is used as a basis for efforts to improve self-regulated learning in the scope of Guidance and Counseling.

Abstract

Abstract This study examines Quranic Hypnotherapy as a transformative communication model in character education through an interdisciplinary approach integrating Quranic studies, communication psychology, persuasive communication, neuroscience, hypnotherapy, and education. The theoretical framework draws on communication psychology, persuasive communication theory (Hovland and the Elaboration Likelihood Model), intrapersonal communication, transcendental communication, and instructional communication. Quranic Hypnotherapy is conceptualized as a process of internalizing Quranic values through repeated recitation in a relaxed mental state (alpha brainwave condition), enabling Quranic messages to be optimally received by the subconscious mind. This process represents both transcendental communication between humans and God and intrapersonal communication that influences emotional regulation, self-motivation, and behavioral formation. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method, grounded in a literature review of reputable national and international academic sources. The findings indicate that Quranic Hypnotherapy contributes to reducing anxiety, lowering academic stress, improving concentration and learning motivation, and promoting positive character development. Therefore, Quranic Hypnotherapy constitutes a transformative communication model that can be operationalized within character education policy. Keywords: Character Education; Communication Psychology; Quranic Hypnotherapy; Persuasive Communication; Transcendental Communication. Kata Kunci: Hipnoterapi Al-Qur’an; Komunikasi Persuasif; Komunikasi Transendental; Pendidikan Karakter; Psikologi Komunikasi.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of coastal Lampung customary values with Islamic teachings in fostering social harmony in Negeri Olok Gading Subdistrict, Bandar Lampung. Employing a qualitative approach, the findings reveal that traditional structures such as Kebandaran, title bestowal (Adok), as well as communal traditions like tahlilan and nughun, continue to be preserved without exhibiting a dichotomy between custom and religion. Instead, customary practices function as a cultural medium for the transmission of Islamic values. Traditional leaders, including Pangeran and Punyimbang, play a pivotal role in promoting religious moderation and maintaining a balance between tradition and Islamic law. This study proposes an integrative model through the concept of Islamic Community Development and Empowerment (ICDE), grounded in the principles of justice, participation, and mutual assistance. Guided by the framework of Maqasid al-Shari’ah, this empowerment model emphasizes the protection of five essential dimensions religion, life, intellect, wealth, and lineage through the hierarchical priorities of dharuriyyat, hajiyyat, and tahsiniyyat. The al-‘urf methodology is employed to legitimize established societal customs as a basis for normative guidance, while the indigenization of Islam ensures the contextual realization of Qur’anic values within local cultural frameworks, in accordance with the legal maxim al-‘adah muhakkamah. The findings further demonstrate that the philosophy of Piil Pesenggiri encompassing the values of Bejuluk Adok, Nemui Nyimah, Nengah Nyapur, and Sakai Sembaian is philosophically aligned with Islamic principles such as muru’ah (dignity), silaturahmi (social bonding), ukhuwah (brotherhood), and ta‘awun (mutual cooperation). The proposed empowerment strategy includes strengthening spiritual, intellectual, and cultural capacities, exemplified by the establishment of the Sanggar Kebandaran Marga Balak as an initiative to preserve local wisdom and foster a harmonious, contextual, and inclusive religious life within a pluralistic society.

Abstract

Self-efficacy is a crucial factor in supporting individuals’ success during the learning process. Students who believe in their own potential tend to achieve optimal performance. Assertiveness is also an important factor in developing effective interpersonal relationships. In the pursuit of academic and non-academic achievement, students are often confronted with challenges such as anxiety. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of group counseling using cognitive restructuring in enhancing self-efficacy and assertiveness among students of SMPN 11 Kota Magelang who experience academic anxiety. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest design and involved 18 students selected through purposive sampling. The results of data analysis demonstrated an increase in both variables. Therefore, it can be concluded that cognitive restructuring-based group counseling is effective in enhancing students’ self-efficacy and assertiveness.
