Abstract

Gender adalah isu yang terus diperdebatkan dalam studi Islam, dengan Al-Qur'an menjadi rujukan utama. Penafsiran ayat-ayat Al-Qur'an mengenai gender sangat dipengaruhi oleh metode tafsir yang digunakan, seperti tafsir klasik, kontekstual, dan feminis. Pemahaman isu gender dalam Al-Qur'an harus mempertimbangkan konteks historis, linguistik, dan sosial saat ayat diturunkan, serta posisi perempuan dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan. Kesetaraan gender dalam Al-Qur'an mencakup kesetaraan sebagai hamba Allah, khalifah di bumi, penerima perjanjian dengan Tuhan, partisipan dalam drama kosmis, dan potensi meraih prestasi. Al-Qur'an juga membahas isu-isu gender terkait asal kejadian manusia dan kepemimpinan.

Abstract

The practice of lavender marriage, which is motivated by one party's dishonesty regarding their sexual orientation, has significant psychological and social consequences for the couple. However, to date, there are no regulations that explicitly govern and provide legal protection against this practice, so it has not been dealt with optimally. This article aims to review legal regulations related to psychological sexual violence in order to formulate a direction for legal reform that can respond to the practice of lavender marriage. This study uses a normative-qualitative method with a document study approach to interpret Article 4 paragraph (2) letter d of the Sexual Violence Criminal Law (TPKS Law) through a progressive legal perspective. The results of the study show that this article can be interpreted more broadly as a form of psychological sexual violence that includes the practice of lavender marriage and various other forms of non-conventional sexual violence. Thus, the application of progressive law encourages the law not to stop at normative texts, but to function adaptively and humanistically in responding to the needs of substantive justice and realising justice and community welfare

Abstract

Al-Qur'an is the Arabic language holy book that contains the highest literature. Then the interpretation of the Qur'an will be more objective if it is done with a literary approach, not a scientific or other approach. Because of the characteristics of the Qur'an itself which is the highest literature, it would be more appropriate to approach it with a language literature approach. This paper aims to describe the language literature approach that’s contained in Bintu Syathi's interpretation methodology. This research is a qualitative research with a type of literature review. The results of this study are that the language literature approach contained in Bintu Syathi' thematic interpretation methodology is never separated from extrinsic criticism and intrinsic criticism. He uses extrinsic criticism at the stage of understanding the what arroud of the Qur'an. Meanwhile, he used intrinsic criticism at the stage of understanding the mafi Al-Qur'an or what is in the Qur’an when interpreting the Al-Qur'an

Abstract

This study is based on the still-limited body of scholarly research that specifically examines the role of kyai in strengthening santri family resilience, grounded in the maq??id al-sharia, within pesantren environments in a comprehensive and in-depth manner. This research aims to analyze KH's thoughts, roles, and impacts. Yazid Karimullah is strengthening the resilience of santri families. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach to gain an in-depth understanding of the kyai contributions to santri family resilience at Pesantren Nurul Qarnain Jember through interviews, observations, documentation, and systematic thematic analysis. The results show that family resilience according to KH. Yazid Karimullah is built on the principles of al-amna (security), ash-shihah (health), and al-kifayah (sufficiency), which complement each other in creating harmonious and sustainable families. This resilience is strengthened by religious, ethical, and moral values, resulting in sakinah, mawaddah, wa rahmah (tranquil, loving, and merciful) families. Various strategies are implemented, such as the establishment of ISNUQ, integration of marriage education into the curriculum, family counseling, conflict mediation, economic empowerment, religious sermons, and the prohibition of unregistered marriage (nikah sirri), early marriage, and domestic violence. These findings demonstrate the comprehensive implementation of maq??id al-sharia and the role of kyai as social agents who shape strong, independent, and adaptive santri families in facing modern challenges. The conclusion of this study is that santri family resilience is formed through the integration of religious values, pesantren strategies, and the kyai’s role as a social agent. The significance of this research enriches the study of maq??id al-sharia and provides practical contributions for pesantren in strengthening santri family resilience.

Abstract

The Panjang Mulud tradition represents a local celebration of the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday that has developed within the Banten community, particularly in Serang City. This tradition embodies not only religious values but also social and cultural dimensions that reflect the community’s resilience in maintaining Islamic values amid modernization. This study aims to analyze Islamic cultural resilience within the dynamics of the Panjang Mulud tradition using Clifford Geertz’s interpretive anthropology combined with the theory of cultural resilience. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method with an ethnographic model through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation in Tanggul Village, Cimuncang Subdistrict, Serang City. The findings reveal that Serang’s community demonstrates strong cultural flexibility in preserving Islamic values through the negotiation of meanings between religious, social, and economic aspects. The Panjang Mulud tradition continues to transform in form without losing its spiritual essence and functions as a medium for strengthening local Islamic identity that is adaptive and contextual in the modern era.

Abstract

Radicalism is a doctrine to someone who is closely related to the jihad phenomenon identified with negative actions. Every so often our societies are confronted with terrorist violence because of radicalization. Therefore, this research wants to focus on the role of the family in preventing radicalism and how can social interaction in the environment affect the entry of radicalism towards children. This research used library research based on the type of current research approach. The findings show that the role of education by family units has a great contribution to the deradicalization process, through the important role of education that can be directly exemplified by the family. In addition to the social interaction channels, interaction in social groups with children and other family members, especially in the context of interaction through the internet, also needs to be considered.

Abstract

Indonesia’s pesantren have long been regarded as institutional centers of Islamic moderation. However, the socio-pedagogical processes through which religious moderation is constructed, transmitted, and internalized remain theoretically underexplored. This study examines how Madurese kiai construct and implement religious moderation across different pesantren typologies in Madura, Indonesia. Using a qualitative multi-site case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis at three pesantren during 2025. The findings reveal that all sites share a common wasathiyyah theological foundation based on tawassuth, tasamuh, tawazun, and ta’adul, while differing in their institutional implementation. Al-Hikam integrates moderation into the formal curriculum, Assirojiyyah embeds it through contextual kitab kuning interpretation within the salaf tradition, and Nurul Hikmah promotes it through dialogic-participatory pedagogy. Applying Berger and Luckmann’s framework of externalization, objectivation, and internalization, the study demonstrates that religious moderation in pesantren is not merely a state-driven normative agenda but a socially constructed reality shaped through kiai authority, pedagogical traditions, and everyday institutional interaction. The study contributes to the growing scholarship on Islamic education by conceptualizing religious moderation as a dynamic socio-cultural construction rather than solely a curricular project.

Abstract

The occurrence of pros and cons regarding the law of Tabarruk practice against Habaib requires hadith research on the direction of Tabarruk. Because to know the law requires an in-depth study of the meaning of the hadith text itself. This study aims to provide readers with an understanding of the importance of understanding the text of the Prophet’s Hadith. In addition, they also know the methods used by classical and contemporary scholars in practicing Hadith. This research is field research with a qualitative approach. Gedongsari Islamic Boarding School, the administrators and the students, are the main objects of this research. The primary source for the research theories is the book al-Jami’ ash-Shahih by al-Bukhari. Several works such as al-Mutashaddidun by Ali Jumah Muhammad, Mafahim Yajibu ‘an Tushahhah by Sayyid Muhammad Alawi, al-Mulakhas fi Syarh Kitab at-Tauhid by Fauzan Salih, and Fath al-Majid Syarh Kitab at-Tauhid by Abd Rahman Hasan Alu Syaikh are considered as the minor sources. The Hadith about Tabarruk is a category of valid Hadith that can be used as evidence. Al-Qur’an and hadiths with the same theme also corroborate the Hadith. In practice, the practice of the Tabarruk tradition that has been attached and rooted in the Gedongsari Islamic Boarding School is not all based on hadith encouragement. However, several factors influence these habits. It cannot be separated from this habit from the dogma that the kiais and teachers have taught.

Abstract

This study examines the management transformation of the One-Stop Integrated Service (PTSP) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Malang City, which achieved a 92% Public Satisfaction Index (IKM) in 2023 from 78% in 2020, with service time reduced from 4.7 to 1.9 working days. Despite growing literature on PTSP efficiency, no study has comprehensively examined the full management transformation cycle within a religious institution while integrating Islamic values as its normative governance foundation. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected from key informants comprising structural officials, PTSP staff, service users, and public service experts through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, documentation, and focus group discussions, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive model. Four novel conceptual constructs emerged: the TRUST model (Transformational Religious-based Unified Service Trust), SMART model (Strategic Management Assessment Responsive Transformation), SERVE model (Service Excellence and Responsive Value Engagement), and ETHIC model (Ethical Transparency and Human-centered Institutional Governance), integrating into the overarching SDG–PTSP model (Spiritual Digital Governance for Public Service Transformation). A key theoretical contribution is the extension of Lewin’s (1947) organizational change model from three to four stages, adding Re-Freeforming as a phase of continuous spiritual-digital renewal unique to religious bureaucracies. Keywords: PTSP transformation; public service quality; digital governance; Islamic values; SDG–PTSP; religious bureaucracy.   Abstrak Studi ini meneliti transformasi manajemen Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Atap (PTSP) di Kementerian Agama Kota Malang, yang mencapai Indeks Kepuasan Masyarakat (IKM) sebesar 92% pada tahun 2023 dari 78% pada tahun 2020, dengan waktu pelayanan berkurang dari 4,7 menjadi 1,9 hari kerja. Meskipun literatur tentang efisiensi PTSP semakin berkembang, belum ada studi yang secara komprehensif meneliti siklus transformasi manajemen secara menyeluruh dalam sebuah lembaga keagamaan sambil mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam sebagai landasan tata kelola normatifnya. Dengan menggunakan desain studi kasus kualitatif, data dikumpulkan dari informan kunci yang terdiri dari pejabat struktural, staf PTSP, pengguna layanan, dan pakar pelayanan publik melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dokumentasi, dan diskusi kelompok fokus, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldana. Empat konstruksi konseptual baru muncul: model TRUST (Transformational Religious-based Unified Service Trust), model SMART (Strategic Management Assessment Responsive Transformation), model SERVE (Service Excellence and Responsive Value Engagement), dan model ETHIC (Ethical Transparency and Human-centered Institutional Governance), yang terintegrasi ke dalam model SDG–PTSP (Spiritual Digital Governance for Public Service Transformation) yang lebih luas. Kontribusi teoritis utama adalah perluasan model perubahan organisasi Lewin (1947) dari tiga menjadi empat tahap, dengan menambahkan Re-Freeforming sebagai fase pembaruan spiritual-digital berkelanjutan yang unik untuk birokrasi keagamaan.
