Abstract

The exclusive breastfeeding program represents a strategic government effort to strengthen the quality of human resources. One effective non-pharmacological approach to addressing this issue is lactation massage, which stimulates milk production and supports the breastfeeding process. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of lactation massage educational videos compared with printed leaflets in improving husbands’ knowledge and roles in supporting successful breastfeeding at the Ciangsana Bogor Independent Midwife Practice in 2025. A quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design was employed. The study involved 74 husbands of postpartum breastfeeding mothers who accompanied their wives during February–March 2025. Husbands’ knowledge and roles were assessed using structured questionnaires administered prior to the intervention and seven days afterward. Data were analyzed using a paired sample t-test, while the level of effectiveness was determined through gain score analysis. The findings revealed significant differences in both knowledge and roles between husbands who received lactation massage educational videos and those who received printed leaflets. The effectiveness analysis demonstrated that educational videos produced greater improvements, with a 57% increase in knowledge and a 56% increase in husbands’ roles, both classified as moderately effective. In conclusion, lactation massage educational videos are more effective than printed leaflets in strengthening husbands’ knowledge and roles in supporting breastfeeding success. The use of engaging and visually rich educational media may serve as a valuable strategy to foster meaningful husband participation and promote optimal breastfeeding outcomes.

Abstract

Background: In 2020, Indonesia’s maternal mortality rate (MMR) was 189 per 100,000 live births, well above the SDGs target of 70. High-risk pregnancies significantly contribute to maternal deaths, especially in rural areas with socioeconomic challenges. Disparities in education, income, and healthcare access influence pregnant women’s health-seeking behaviors. ObjectiveThis study aimed to examine the relationship between socioeconomic determinants and pregnancy risk and to develop an evidence-based, community-focused health promotion model that addresses these socioeconomic factors in rural settings. Methods: A cross-sectional study involved 130 pregnant women in the Puskesmas Tirto 1 area, Pekalongan Regency, Central Java. Data collection used structured questionnaires, analyzed via binary logistic regression. A theoretical framework guided community-based health promotion recommendations. Results:  The analysis revealed that age, parity, education, and income collectively affected pregnancy risk (p=0.033). Individually, only income had a significant effect (p=0.039; Exp(B)=0.380; 95% CI: 0.150–0.962), indicating higher income reduces high-risk pregnancy likelihood. Age, parity, and education were not significant predictors. Conclusion: Economic factors are the strongest predictors of pregnancy risk among the variables studied. Maternal health programs in rural areas should incorporate socioeconomic-based strategies through community empowerment, improved healthcare access, and targeted health education.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Musyarakah Mutanaqisah (MMQ) contract at BMT Amanah Berkah Mandiri in Bandung City as an alternative model for Islamic microfinance. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 8 informants (1 financing manager, 2 operational staff, 5 business partners), three months of field observation, and document review. Findings reveal that MMQ is implemented through five stages: feasibility assessment, joint capital agreement (BMT 70%, partner 30%), business operation, gradual ownership reduction over 24–36 months, and full ownership transfer. Key challenges include low Islamic financial literacy among partners (4 out of 5 did not understand the mutanaqisah mechanism prior to education), limited initial capital at the BMT, and the absence of standardized operational procedures. Nevertheless, MMQ proves more equitable than murabahah by applying proportional profit-sharing and fostering partner independence. This study contributes a practical framework for MMQ implementation in Islamic microfinance institutions. Limitations include a single-site design and restricted access to detailed financial data.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms and functions of directive speech acts in the film Uang Panai and their relevance to the communicative context between characters. A descriptive qualitative method was employed in this research. The data, consisting of utterances, were collected through observation and note-taking techniques and analyzed using the theoretical framework of directive speech acts. The results reveal six categories of directive speech acts: (1) requests (14 data); (2) advice (10 data); (3) commands (9 data); (4) invitations (6 data); (5) prohibitions (4 data); and (6) criticisms (2 data). The dominance of request speech acts reflects a preference for persuasive and non-coercive communication strategies within the characters' interactions. These findings demonstrate that directive speech acts serve not only as a narrative driver for the plot but also as a representation of the cultural communication of the Bugis-Makassar community, which are deeply rooted in social values and politeness.
